It's so good to have someone (his friends) to take care of some things! Every little bit makes a difference!Tough day yesterday, two of my Husband's friends rented a truck and cleared all of his projects and materials out of the storage unit. They're going to take care of packing it all up and getting it sold for me.
Spent most of today in my chair, but managed to get moving a bit in the afternoon and started picking apples. Filled two and half bushels, might another one or two still on the tree. No where near as many apples as last year, when it gave me nine bushels. Couple of friends planning to come over at some point to have an apple processing day. It was strangely warm and humid out there today, felt really strange to work up a sweat picking apples at the end of October.
That deer meat looks good. I wonder if I should try hunting this year. Haven't been out for the last five years or so.
no apologies needed you are probably right...the vet tells me the same thing all the time ( keep wound open so it heals) which I will do once it dries up a little. I put iodine on it, and paper towel held in place by duct tape. I will take it off today. Goats are pretty tough and usually heal up well. I just worry about them getting dirt in the wound and it getting infected but I will at least spray some of the silver stuff on it that lets the air through. He hops on 3 legs and they are all staying in today because it's pouring. Goats don't like getting wetIt's too late now, but if it was a clean cut I would have tried gluing it. I would resist the urge to look at it and clean it. Animals heal up quick if they are left to it.
Wet wounds kept dry (no ointments) air is good. Dry wounds wet (ointments).
If he is flexing the wound too much, pad the back of the fetlock (don't know goat talk) so he can't, for a week.
Apologies if you know all this, no patronizing intended.
& Kris Kristofferson is now 86 (your comment made me search).RIP Johnny Cash
If he will tolerate it, have him stand with his cut foot in a bucket of tepid epsom salt water for about 15 min. Works wonders, but sometimes they don't know what's good for them and don't want to participate Looks like I'm late.So our big buck injured himself . We should have took him to the auction yesterday. He tried jumping on the roof of his shed like the girls been doing and he;s probably too big to do it and cut his leg just above the hoof on the metal roof. At least that is our guess we didn't see it happen but there is nothing else sharp in the pasture. So I bandaged him up pretty good and put him in his goat house. I hope he heals up ok. I don't want to give him an antibiotic because it has a 28 day withdrawel period and the auction is in a few weeks
He's limping pretty bad and its a fairly deep cut but not quite bad enough for the vet( I hope)
And my dessert I made didn't really turn out. It's called "Magic cake" , sort of a custard cake but didn't like the consistancy. Otto liked it....( the dog)
5.2 is rock solid. Here's to your health!I had a couple really good days early in the week, got a lot done. My 6 month check up went well, AC1 at 5.2. They want me to come back this week, some odd numbers on my tests, glucose levels wacky and something else. I'm not concerned, numbers that appear wacky for normal people are understandable when someone has cfs.
Had a quiet weekend, rained most of it.
