Getting closer to getting wood stove working. Got it all cleaned out and burned a bunch of newspaper in it to clear out any leaves and spider web the may have gotten in. Seems we’re missing an andiron but it’s not needed—it’s a top loader

I love the idea of an Outback. It would be nearly perfect for my travels for work. But, the Subaru CVT transmission scares me. I know several people who have blown them out between 120,000 and 140,000 miles, and it's an $8k fix. I love the car though. That AWD system is fantastic!
That’s interesting. I know someone who bought a used Subie and within months, the transmission failed.

Worked today. I had to do "service" on a 2023 Can Am Defender side by side. It took me an hour to change the oil filter. Supposedly you need to unbolt and take out the rear seats and then remove the decorative fake carpet panel and then remove the screws holding the plastic panel to the back of the cab and then try to reach in through this awkward opening to remove the 3 bolts to remove the cover over the oil filter .... and then reverse the process. Well, that would be a very time consuming task so I took the "easy-ish" way and shoved my hand and a small socket and ratchet around the wires and hoses to remove the 3 bolts to remove the cover the pull out the filter and reverse the process with the new filter. One full hour of cussing out the darn engineers who designed this pathetic piece of donkey dung.
Moral of the story, do not ever buy a Can Am or Bombardier. They may not be junk but they are the most difficult pieces of poop for doing what should be simple repairs and maintenance.
After work hung out with the boss and his wife and his friend and BS'd for over an hour. Fun "happy hour" burning through several adult beverages and some old oil in the smudge pot behind the shop. I am hoping for early to bed tonight. I might even have a productive weekend this weekend. If I am lucky.
I've got a 2020 CanAm Defender HD10 and I love it. I've never had a problem changing the oil filter. I just raise the dump bed and pull the 3 screws out and swap filters. Of course the first time it took a little cussing putting that third screw back in. OK, everytime it takes a little cussing to put that third screw in. I admit that they could have done a better job in locating the oil filter, but I've never had to take the seats out to change oil.
I'd recommend the CanAm to anyone looking for a side by side.

Nothing planned for today. I’m watching YouTube with the hubby, drinking coffee, reading a book, and occasionally watching the birds on the bird feeder. The pellet stove is happy and so are all the four legged family members sleeping around it at the moment. I did make some waffles and one of the boys made sausage patties for breakfast.

I have tremors which means my hands shake (hereditary). I can’t express how much I dislike touch screens!
I too have fought "essential tremors"(ET) for years.
May I suggest Propranolol ER 60mg?
It has been a huge help for mine for years.
I know you don't drink, but I will spill (pun) this little tip for others:
Beer works wonders!😀, and stops whatever is left after the meds.

Wiki: ET is generally very responsive to alcohol, but the risks of regular drinking are greater than the potential benefit. Nonetheless, ET patients sometimes self-medicate with alcohol.
The strike-thru is true for people that choose liquor.

I’ve never taken that one. Will look into it. I like some beer, but don’t do well with too many sugars 🙄. I also like a good Irish whiskey so it’s probably for the better that I can’t drink much. 😬

Measure the tremors and then kill off 3 beers, then measure them again.
I think you will be amazed.
For you it may take less, depending on how severe yours are.

What brand of Irish do you like? I used to be a Bushmills only guy. Over did it once and now can't even stand the aroma. Wouldbt mind finding an alternate

DH takes primidone and propranolol for tremors. No go on alcohol for him.

I take primidone also, but didn't dare want to mention it :(.
When you start taking it, you have to 'stairstep' up to the daily dose or it will make you a basket-case.
Even worse; if you want to stop taking it, you must gradually 'wean' yourself off of it or really bad things happen to you (withdrawl).😡
This means you absolutely better not run out of it (the definition of 'an addict'):(.
I would not suggest it to anyone... Irish whiskey would probably be better.

well. son's water is finally frozen, but it did last longer than usual. Had both wood stoves going again but one went out so now it is getting cold in the house. Took dogs out but did not hike up the mountain, way too cold
one more day of this , blaaaahhhh, it takes all my motivation away. Just doing the necessary keeping animals fed and watered , and us , and keeping the house from freezing over
It is supposed to be -20 with the wind chill tomorrow. I think that is the coldest it has ever been here since we moved here
I have just been sitting here binge watching the Chinese travel videos and SOKO Wien
feeling super unproductive
