Woke up way too early. Still sore from cleaning up beside the shed, worse than when replacing 180ft of fence. Don’t know what I did that was so strenuous? Even got one little spot of poison ivy, been years since I had any. Put a bandaid on it this morning and keeping it soaked with plantain tincture, cuts down on the itch.

No plans for the day, might do some measuring. The old shed is on it’s last legs I’d like to set a shipping container in that spot and do away with the shed.

Sort of hate to see the ugly shed go. It was the only thing salvaged from the old house after the tornado in ‘74. An addition, 2 small bedrooms that still had exterior walls. Roof and ceilings were gone so we dragged it to this spot with a bulldozer rolling it on short poles. Put on a new roof and had an instant tiny barn that became junk storage.

It's one ugly shed! 🤣

A good day. We went to a “junque jingle” this morning. That was nice. I got a “new” bucket. An old galvanized bucket- a real oldy that’s good thick metal. New buckets are like tinfoil.
Came home, did a little stitching then fixed dinner. Then hubby wanted to go get some fresh sides and pork butts so he can make bacon and try his hand at hams. He was almost giddy 😂. It’s been cold and rainy and windy so cool enough for smoking meats.
Dang, I'm going have to try making bacon now too. Last year I made some candied habanaro bacon. It turned out really good.

Rain, glorious rain...I just got done working out at Anytime and now I'm sitting in a nice padded chair by the door waiting for GF to finish her workout. There's a beautiful soaking rain outside, no thunder, no wind, just a steady rain falling to replenish our parched soil. It hasn't really rained here since the start of September and we needed it badly.

Not many plans for today. Ruby the Lab will get a good walk if the rain stops. If not, GF and I will watch a movie. She grew up in a strict Catholic home and never got to see movies as a kid, then was married and having kids by her early 20s. So she never saw Top Gun, Back to the Future, Breakfast Club, or any of those 1980s classics. We will find one on Hulu today to watch...

Got the kids and baby their breakfast, the kitchen cleaned up, baby down for an early nap, boys bickering, paid online bills, might have eaten breakfast sort of. Reading through some threads, I am behind on it but doubt I'll catch up. Bless those who do. Church? Nope. It's here, a couple miles away, but I'm not getting these lovely children out the door and into the building in a timely fashion and then expecting them to sit there with me quietly considering they haven't been raised to do such. My kids were spaced further apart, thank God, I'd have lost my freaking mind this close together. And we had a routine down for church and still able to show up earlier than starting time. It was no big deal, except finding the church shoes in a messy bedroom. LOL

I spent a little time working in the basement this morning. It’s one of those places that we just take stuff there and don’t fully put it away. It’s in much better now but still not organized like it should be.

That is a very lonely bottle of vodka. With so many bottles in need of a good home, please consider adopting more bottles. No bottle should be forced to live alone.

What an amazing set up. My stuff is scattered here and there, because my basement is not easily accessible, and is divided into rooms.

Is that an electronic mouse trap on the floor?

Got woke up twice around 4 &5am with a coon trying to get our chickens. Ran off first time, 2nd time it ran up a tree and I saw it. Took one shot and pretty sure I hit it, but damn thing was 30" up. Sat outside for nearly an hour waiting on it to come down. Finally did and was flying by 15' off the ground. Too dark to get a good shot then. Back to bed and slept too late.
Got up and did my morning routine, meds, vitals, etc. Took trash to the dump. Got back and cleaned the truck up a little. Mowed to chop up some leaves and blow them away from the house. Loaded up some firewood to move to the firepit. We're planning to have a family get together and have a fire. Mom is 85 and don't get around good so I move the pit up close to our front door. Fed and watered the birds, and gathered eggs. Finally sat on the porch for a couple hours and smoked my favorite cigar and listened to the peace and quite. set a trap for the coon if it decides to come back tonight.
Finally got in the house and wife was sick. She threw up off and on for a couple hours, then crashed out on the couch. Called my mom and sister to postpone the get together until maybe next weekend.
Watched UT finally beat Kentucky and messin around on the puter.
I ran over a dead coon on the road today.
hee hee.
Hope your wife feels better.

OK, just read over everyone's morning and no one slept last night it sounds like. Us included. Husband up at 2, needed breathing treatments, and at 4:30 I called an ambulance. So into the bigger town we went. They got some IV steriods in him, pressurized breather on him because 02 was not cutting it, and a bag of antibiotic in him. Made it home around noontime. His specialist will see him in office in the morning, so I bet we get another picc line put in. Finally finished animal chores, put a thawed turkey in the oven, ribs in the crockpot for tonight. Having my coffee. He is higher than a kite on the extra IV steriods, extra from the tabs he takes, watching Star Trek and wanted a pbj on homemade bread. So that's what he got.

After Church today I have tried to clean up, then the wife put me on KP pealing potatoes, tonight we are having potato leak soup, one of my favorites...

I harvested the potatoes last weekend, they are small Pantry Potatoes...

FYI: Pantry Potatoes are store bought potatoes that sprouted in the pantry, the wife said get rid of them, so I planted them.... and poof, Pantry Potatoes :)

I got a nice trail cam today, I have always wanted one. This little dumb thing watched me at 20 yards the entire time I was hanging the camera and setting it up. I guess he doesn’t know Alexandra has put in an order for a yearling this fall.

The wife likes a little one from time to time, the hind quarters make a nice leg of Lamb type dish. :)
