Spent the day going over to my daughter's new home and getting the grass cut for her. Hauled out a couple of items left from the previous owner to drop off at the donation center, stopped at harbor freight and got a shelving unit and put it up in her shed. She's working full time, going to school, and trying to get moved by the end of the month so I help out when I can.
Finally finished (more or less) the new greenhouse. Still need to put down a lot more gravel around it, and next year I'll put in windows in the end walls, but for now it's secure for winter. I'm trying to figure out if I'm going to invest in a heater of some sort and try to keep the pool going through the winter, or disconnect the pump and let it go til spring. It makes such a difference for my hip pain to be able to get in the pool and exercise that I hate to give it up. Even without supplemental heat, the weather has been warm enough that I've been using it as late as last Wednesday. Having it inside makes all the difference. And it's not a big pool, so I still have plenty of room for planters.
It looks a bit wonky here and there because all of the lumber I used was reclaimed, found on the side of the road, or leftovers from previous projects. The metal frame and the plastic was a kit from Farmer's Friend. The door was the screen door from the front of my house.

Now I can concentrate on the old greenhouse, and try to get plastic on it before winter truly hits.
Brother finally came over and we got about halfway done with the generator gas line. Sure hope he comes back soon.
Amish sorry to learn Husband had to go to the hospital.
Tommyice that's a beautiful poker, very nice!
Pearl hope your sciatica eases off.

Had a great day ..walked the pups, cleaned kinda, organized n tidy uped the chicken run areas. Prunedone peach tree and the black walnut.
Just did a bunch of chores like that untill it was time to chill out for a few hours.
I was surprised to see I was done b4 2pm..I was thinking it was later like 4 or 5. So I made myself soup, watched a good documentary and now it's time to hit the hay..

Another day with temps in the 80s and humidity over 60%. Woke up soaking wet. Bedding soaked, pillows soaked, pajamas soaked. I want to find a tub of after-shower powder and roll in it.

Went to Walmart to get shortsleeve nightgowns for Mom and to pick up a toilet seal for my friend. Will be bringing the toilet jack over to his house tomorrow.

Visited him briefly. Kelebrimbor ran up to me and wanted to be held. He followed me when I was leaving. Had to carry him back and have friend put out food to distract him.

Poor Fippy is sitting here panting like crazy so I pointed a fan at him. I may go take a cold shower. Will be calling AC people again Monday. Going to call the ones who installed the outside unit this time.

Need to figure out how to use the new Bissel spot cleaner thingy I got, but its been so damn hot.

Turning In so I can Toss n Turn All Night...!!!

Woke up at 1:30 am and got to use the nifty trick the furnace repair guy showed me last week. Got dressed, trotted over to the basement, went downstairs into the scary basement in the middle of the night, did the reset procedure and prayed (praying in the instructions he gave me). It worked.

Before going to work I need to contact the imaging center to confirm an appointment for dad for the oral issue.

Just something interesting that happened two days ago. The wife & I were sitting on our porch & heard a odd & semi loud sound. It got louder & louder so we jumped up & stepped out of the porch to look up. And we saw a B-52 flying right over our house. Our airport doesn't have enough runway for one to land there & this was very low but gaining altitude. My wife suggested that they were probably practicing touch & goes while going cross country. Darned interesting & also loud!

Going to split some wood this morning then put the forks on the tractor and try to level the wood shed. We need to run up to the lumber yard later today to pick up roofing shingles and miscellaneous things. It's supposed to snow this afternoon. Don't think it'll amount to more than a few inches.
Last night I had to unplug the septic system again. I'll make some calls today to see about getting someone out to fix it. It's possible that the septic system wasn't put in right and will need to be replaced. That'll be a big expense if it does need to be dug up and replaced.

I started my day by killing honey bees. It was a shame to kill them but the local beekeepers didn't want them & they posed a danger to us because of how close they were to our back door. Last week I ushered 5 of them out of my computer room. I bet the honey combs (5 of them) had more than a bottle of honey in them. Oh well, at least I didn't get stung.

Wish some of the beekeepers would have taken them!!

Getting ready to head back to North Platte one last time. When I get done there next Sunday, I'll be done with that hellhole and I'll head to my new position in Des Moines on next Tuesday. It should be much, much better even if I lose a few days off every month.
I didn't know that North Platte was a hellhole. I drive through it sometimes, depending upon where I'm going in South Dakota. North to Valentine, Rosebud Reservation and east from there or sometimes continuing east from North Platte. I was talking to someone recently about looking for property and Nebraska is one potential location. He told me that North Platte is getting some kind of manufacturing plant there and properties are hard to find there. And then he encouraged me to look there. What?? SMH!

Got a flat tire on the wood splitter again. Got it aired up and went to get the 4 wheeler to reposition the splitter and the 4 wheeler won't start. It's not the battery, it's something electrical. At least the side by side still starts and I was able to move the splitter. I took the cap off the septic tank and it's still flowing free.
We're heading up the the lumber yard now. It's snowing right now and we're getting a good breeze blowing the snow around.

Got up, worked out, cleaned up, went to work, ran to the store for the lady, got caught up in a dispute between a security guard and a Karen, listened to Steve Bannon on talk radio talk about all the J6'ers and little old ladies he saw in prison thanks to the weaponized DOJ, collected the mail, came up to the apartment, talked to the girl about her getaway, grabbed my laptop, came to the forum, made this post.

Tossed and turned all night trying to get comfortable. Kept sweating and overheating and having trouble staying cool and had to get up to go towel off. Considered taking a cold shower but realized I'd stay wet and it would feel awful. Will probably take a cold shower later if they AC people manage to come through.

Called AC people who installed outside unit and said it wasn't cooling and we're boiling in here. He said it could be run capacitor issue since the unit is slow to start. Said they would try to get someone out here today.

Need to change Mom's canula.

Saw Mom was wearing one of the new shortsleeve nightgowns I got for her. She normally only wears longsleeve ones, but it's been too hot.

Took out trash, cleaned up hallway, cleaned litterboxes, brought in new litter, and got told to screw off by my brother when I asked him for help. Still need to go bring cat food and other box of litter in. It goes fast. The petty part of me wants to put carpet powder down in front of his bedroom door. He claims it gets in his eyes and complained and lectured me last time I did it.

I want to steam clean the carpet but its too damn hot. Also need to figure out where the extension cord went to so I can plug in the vacuum in the hallway. Really need to add an outlet in that area. Thinking of putting one right below the current wall switch. But that is for a later time.

Let's just hope the AC guy gets there fast!!

Wish it was warm here. It's been raining and I have the electric fireplace on in the condo.
Just finished a wild work stretch, been super busy with ICU admission numbers already outpacing last few years.
Today I've been cleaning, packing up and doing laundry in case we need to bug out to the property outside of town in the coming days.
Hubs is out on the property trying to get the solar to work the last couple of days. Generator hookup is screwed up somehow, and solar finally working.
Heard from my son in Great Lakes, he is doing well, actually enjoying bootcamp (can't imagine that). Said his favorite thing was the gas chamber simulation. His unit got the scholastic flag, and he is at the top as far as times for athletic testing, so doing well thankfully. If all continues to go well, we fly out the beginning of next month for his graduation. Wish he could've timed it during summer, although I guess it's good its not Jan or Feb!

Ask him about the smoke house.

Made tear gas lame.

finished my horseradish today and took it easy. It almost gassed me out. Doesn't usually do that.
We always processed it outdoors. It would drive everyone out of the house if it was ground in there. We also took turns grinding because of the strong smell. We could only be close to it for a while. Hold your breath and make a few turns grinding.
