Well this Hubby of mine is quite efficient at spending 💰. Went today and tried a couple bows. He decided to go with a Matthews. His two that burnt were Hoyt and PSE.
Frosted a zillion fish cookies for tomorrow. I did get a little stitching done which was a nice treat. It’s been damp and grey here. Where we went for Hubby’s bow is about an hour and a half away. Coming back the low clouds looked like an ocean- that we got to drive back into 😜

Thankfully Mom seems to be on the mend. Everything is tougher in your 80s. After a rough couple of days I'm on my feet again; did some housecleaning chores, made some chicken broth, did a few other things. Had to keep napping in between, but made a little progress. Still not up to hunting and they know it, four does camped in my yard this morning.
A few snow flurries and a lot of wind. Temps in the 20s, which is quite a change from what we had through November. Takes a little getting used to. Wood stove is doing a great job of keeping up, still haven't turned on the furnace. Probably won't until the bedroom (at the other end of the house) gets too cold.
Now if anyone has a magic formula for stopping a dog from farting, please share! Gah! And of course she has to lay on the floor right up close with the bad end pointed right at me. I'm going to have to open a window!

Guess we missed thanksgiving this year. It got moved twice because of mom’s health issues. It got called off again this morning, took mom to the little hospital who promptly transferred her to the big hospital in the tuscaloosa. A known issue, 88 and her heart is giving out.

I spent the day here, holding down the fort and keeping dad busy. Alabama played auburn in Tusc this afternoon, and extra 100k people at the game. Couldn’t let dad try to drive in that mad house and I wasn’t about too. Took the ambulance over 2hrs to transport mom 40miles. Kinfolk were waiting so no need for dad to be there.

I took care of all the critters this afternoon. Spent extra time on the chicken’s water situation. The tank was frozen again this morning so it was time to drag out the 2nd tank. I just swap tanks everyday, let the frozen tank thaw in the house over night then swap them again. Easier than trying to bust ice in a water tank.

Watched some great college football today. Another game is on now...

Mom's and heart issues are hard. That was my mom's problem.
Home is quieter again. Took daughter and her boyfriend around our town today...thrift store, hardware, little grocery and our local meat place. Brought some bierrocks home for lunch. They took the side by side out for a good ride, and our neighbor talked their ear off. Drove them to the airport early evening, and off they went. We've had solid company for a week, and a death in there, too, and Thanksgiving, so it's been a week for sure.

Spent the last few days battling a pretty nasty cold, my job with pre k special needs kids exposes me to everything. I was supposed to hike into my bol for 4 days. Pretty disappointing. Retiring this year so that should stop that exposure.:) Relaxed with family today and going to a bazaar tomorrow with them so that should be fun.

wowzers, @snappy1 you look great!! I like your glasses too. I cut my own bangs recently, stylists hate it when we cut our own hair. Ha. I haven't worn glasses in a long time, always contact lenses. Well, I got glasses recently and I don't like it, but needed to go ahead and get something in case of whatever. I still wear the contacts more. I even got bifocals on the one pair but find it quite annoying. Do you have transitions lenses? One contact is for close and one for distance. I know it sounds awful but I had no problem with it.
Got the front porch mostly cleaned up but still not Christmassy out there.
Thanks! No transition lenses for me. Basic bi-focal.

Day off since I cleaned my building yesterday morning!! Fixing to feed Bear and the cats. Gotta clean my own house today. Still have some fence work to do after the 'Buddy and the bull' fight yesterday!🙄 Hopefully I'll start cleaning out the big storage shed!! Also need to go through my jeans and find some the next size smaller!!

it's cold , stove in kitchen started, but I think we will just do that one today since grandbaby is no longer here and we don't need it that warm in the livingroom
I plan on taking a break today and do little besides animal care, cooking and dishes
Otto woke me up at 6, I think he was cold and wanted the stove started , poor baby...

What a bummer 😕.. what kind of dog was Trip?
I had a dog that had a pretty strong prey drive..it was very challenging to deal with and a constant worry she would hurt the cat.
Now that I have a few barn cats plus all the birds..I can't have a dog that exhibits that kind of behavior..it takes alot of time and training and being present as it happens to try to correct . I just don't have the time or energy and you can never really trust them..
Sucks tho..heartbreaking none the less..
Apologies @Hooch I didn't see your question. He was a Springer Spaniel, but I only got him at a year old (rescue because he was gun shy)and although he was obedient and trained to sit etc, he wasn't bought up with cats. He wasn't vicious, just loved the chase. Husband is burying them both now in the pet cemetery; the cat hasn't a mark on her. Thank you to those who sent on virtual hugs- you are a great bunch. I have outdoor and indoor cats; but I don't believe in cooping them up they love climbing the trees and they are cats after all- no animals should be locked up all the time. Que sera.

Today just finishing some Christmas organising- it looks like I will have extra around the table after all- and waiting to see the results of our elections.

The kids left for home yesterday afternoon. Since we aren't going to see them for Christmas, we had Christmas yesterday for the grandkids. They both got some fossils, silver coins, $2.00 bills, $10 each, some old coins that we found with the metal detectors. The granddaughter got some jewelry, the grandson got some new arrows and a quiver for his arrows. And they both got their latest bank deposit slip and their bank statements, so they can see their savings grow.
It was sad to see them go. Both kids started crying and said they didn't want to leave.

Just got my new glasses from the VA earlier this week, Friday I think. They are transition lens which I like but… these frames are a slightly different size plus I got hit in the face several times in sept. so the old frames were bent. The new glasses sit much differently on my nose. Annoying, still getting used to them.

No plans so far, playing it by ear. Dad will want to go to the big hospital sometime today. I’ll drive him unless he rides with someone else. Got to feed and water the livestock. Had a strange dream last night. A herd of cows was in my pastures and I couldn’t find who they belonged to.

Need to continue the stairway re-wiring. My legs are finally feeling better after the step ladder marathon workout thursday.

Woke up, trimmed my facial hair, took a shower, selected underwear #17 for today, got dressed, went to check on Charlene, drove to a bakery, picked up some apple fritters and honey crullers, came home, put a 1/4 picnic ham into the slow cooker, made some coffee, turned on some holiday classics music, grabbed the laptop and decided to see what you people are up to today.
