Received the special edition cookbook today and took 3 hours to look through it.

... I'm so thankful for how comfortable this house is. In the old place I'd be lucky to keep it around 62 with the furnace throwing money out the chimney and the curtains moving in the drafts.
Still windy. Was just out with the dog and the southern sky is extra dark and cloudy and I could hear the wind roaring in the trees on my fence line.
Started scrubbing all my seed trays so I can get them set up and get some seed planted.
Praying for those folks who have been hit with the severe weather and flooding. Haven't heard back from my cousins in Kentucky in a while.

That was a nice update. Thank you.

The Princess and I love warm and comfy. We thank God watching it snow while snug inside.

Got down to about 10 below last night. The sky was crystal clear and the stars were beautiful.
The woodstove gets hungry a lot. But it's 70 in here with the furnace only set to come on when the basement gets down to 58, and it's not been running very often. And hauling wood in makes me get out of my chair and move, so it's all good. I'm so thankful for how comfortable this house is. Going to crash on the couch for a bit. Sleeping in the den so I get up a few times to put wood in the stove! Hubby will end up on the other couch because the back end of the house will drop to 58-60° tonight. Single digits outside by morning, 16° now!! Wind chill is stupid °!! So I'll be checking in throughout the night when I'm up! Staying home again tomorrow so no big deal!! I bumped a few jobs to the weekend so I don't have to start my old vehicles in this cold!!

Me either... usually go to bed about now but not the least bit sleepy so I'm having a cognac. It usually puts me out.

Went to bed, kinda rested for an hour. Bear looked out the window and it's snowing like crazy, everything is white! So we just got back inside after SNOW ZOOMIES and another pee! Now he's sound asleep on the couch and I'm drinking coffee!! Boy did he have fun though!! Despite the fact it's 12° with a negative wind chill!!

Got Bear and the cats fed, went outside for round two of snow zoomies!!! Coffee until daylight, then I'll feed and lug water to my poor winter hating donkey!! The snow is wet and heavy so I'll bring out some Vaseline to rub on the bottom of Buddy's hooves so he doesn't get snowballs. Then again he would have to go outside to get snow in his hooves, so probably not necessary!! Laying low today, a nap or two is necessary! Eating!!

I'll do a walking video this morning. Too cold and windy for a walk.
Take my friend to the doc at 8:30 this morning and then stop and visit friend in hospital. I don't think she has long left in this world.
Stop at local bank to work on closing an account to do with Church stuff.
Just trying to stay warm the rest of the day!

it;s snowing, a lot. Not too terribly cold ( low 20s) but supposed to get colder. Otto seems ok, let him out to pee, no peeing on the floor today. I am wondering if it is the new bag of dog food I got ( I rotate dog foods) . The little mutt drank a whole bowl of water this morning and also needed to go out. He usually does not do that and sleeps till 11 or so. So opened a different bag of dog food to give them
Son stayed home , there is already a few inches on the road and more coming. He can shovel snow today
Getting ready to check on the sheep and take care of the rest of the animals.
Not sure I picked up some cold at the store yesterday, have a scratchy throat
No other plans today

Well we're $3300 lighter in the pocket but the trees are gone. They were huge (30ft or more). If they fell on the house we'd be looking at a big problem so the money was worth it.

Will go out later and pick up all the tiny pieces of pine limbs laying around out in the yard. Its only 13 out right now so I'll wait till it gets into the 20's

After that I need to start to get things set up in the greenhouse. I need to get some things started

Have no idea whats for supper yet.

Started the day with Campbell's chunky potato soup and a blueberry bagel.

What about egg? Still in the fridge. No day is perfect... but there's hope. It's never too late for frying-up eggs.

Turkeys are alive. Found I can handle 15 min at a time outside, then come in and warm up. Turkeys have fresh straw again, finished one chicken coop. Out to do another in a minute. Carrying out buckets of hot water. Can't wait for the weekend. Windy, slightly negative one out.
