I find myself wondering what I will do when those I take care of are gone and have moved on. I moved my mom in with me 2 years ago when she was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. My oldest son is out of college, with a great job and wonderful gf, so it's a treat when he is home for supper. My youngest is in college now. My days of being busy taking care of others are numbered!!

Yeah it's a change for sure,I went through this 6 years ago when my dad passed after taking care of him for 3 years. I was still involved for another 6 months or so while doing his Estate but it wasn't as much as taking care of him and then it came to an end so for awhile it was like "well what do I do now" type of thing.

I cut some small cedar poles down and built a frame under the fifth wheel. A friend gave us an old, small barn to tear down and move. Lotsa tin so I'm going to underpin the camper with that. I'll have a lot of weathered wood and tin for wainscote and trim for the house.

went to work today. swapped shifts with co-worker because our road is still covered with snow and ice. when i went in it was slush.when i came back at 7;30 it was frozen again. county closed roads until 10am yesterday . today . and tomorrow. will swap again, but i don't think it will freeze tomorrow night. i will watch the temp. when they close the roads if you have a wreck the insurance will not pay. besides i don't like driving in it. we are just not equipped for this kind of stuff'.

Blessed with calf aggressively sucking on Momma this morning. Not real well, but trying. Cleaned two houses today and husband called. Calf working 2 quandrants well so we did not have to pen her and her upset mom. She got him yesterday when he was messing with calf with a bottle. We had to do it with her calf last year who got infection through umbilical cord the settled in his knees. I had to get him up 3-4 times a day to supplement and put him up to mom to nurse. She never fought me but was upset with husband. After a month, found calf up nursing and could run like a deer. I called him CHRISTMAS and when I sold him, he paid for Christmas. Will watch closely until she is able to empty all four. Her ears may be frostbit. Hope that heals up. I now have 3 heifers and 3 bulls on the ground. One more cow may calve, one probably didn't breed back before brangus bull sold and one weaned heifer who may have bred to new Angus bull last month.

Ran to walmart for an order pick-up. Did a quick walk of the pantry items and the kids clothes. Got a couple hoodies for Roo (she loses them), a few t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts for her. Just some socks and leggings for Juju. Not to mention a jar of jelly and some broccoli. I normally don't get so little when I run to the store but I was already going.

(@kd4ulw )Mon, that's not cool. There's a lot of that going around here. Is it the flue or a virus thing going on?

Today is hopefully the beginning of a warm up here in sc. Nothing much going on around here except inside chores and momming. Work tonight, out of the house, for a couple hours . Should have done some work at home for extra $ this morning but my Xbox took control. It's rare to have enough alone time to actually get a mission does. People always seem to want to talk when your in a tough combat scene or the baby cries during a cinematic and you suddenly have no idea what's happening. First world problems, right?

Anyways just plugging along and praying for spring.

So after spending time freezing in the barn looking for Wile E. Coyote with an acme heater strapped on his back, I'm warming up with a cup of hot chocolate. Once I warm up I'll take paper waste outside to burn in the burn barrel. Once that's done I'll shower and do some cleaning before heading to the gym.
Tomorrow will be more fun as I will be heading to the US Air Force Museum in Dayton with family. If you've never been and you like military air craft there is no place better for the price.... FREE!

Hello everyone and hope you have had a fantastic day :) .

We started off the morning with DH watering one side of the house paddock lawns and then putting on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine. I put on a load of washing in the washing machine and hung it outside to dry on the clothes line and brought it back in once dry. Then went and picked some French lavender from the gardens and brought it inside and hung it to dry in our spare room.

Then out into the gardens where we weeded 2 x 9 x 2 mt and another 9 x 1mt garden beds and put them in a pile at the back of the shed which we will later burn to put biomass back into the garden soils. We then took all of the dried spent garlic and other plants out of the garage and rain over them with the mulching lawn mower and put it out the back of the shed to add to our garden mulch pile.

Tonight's tea was BBQ steak and pasta salad as it is so hot here.

@kd4ulw get better soon and I hope it isn't that nasty Influenza A flu that is going around.

I already worked out this morning, which is why I am sitting her on my laptop recovering and drinking water.

I have a whole laundry list of things to do today; starting with some dusting and vacuuming, getting some beef bone broth going for tonight's dinner, putting a couple additional fans in my primary computer (which has been overheating), finish up an AR-15 build for a friend, taking the dogs outside for some soccer time (exercise) and scrape the snow off my roof.

She only has 5 or 6 quilts going now, she does them by hand,
Has never made a quilt on a machine.

So she says, she gets bored doing the same one all the time, so she switches to a different one , once in a while,

Now she will have another one..

She just walked over and said "here...look...ain't it beautiful? JDNA has this...order me 5 of these packs"

I say's "OK",

It is kind a purty,:)

I have a day at the range planned with my son and brother. We all have ammo to shoot up so we can put proper loads in their place.
I need to pick up a box of 223/556 to test the mods on my AR, some old 357 ammo to shoot up and some 9mm to burn and some to test.
My brother is going to test his 22 to see how the modified hammer works.
My son has a 22 to sight in, some 357 ammo with soft lead bullets to waste, and an AK to fire.
We plan to spend some quality time shooting and enjoying each others company.

Have to pay for DH's car tag at the courthouse and check on homestead exemption. A few things at grocery since this is their sale day. Home to make the cookies I did not get done yesterday. Check on some links for Council on Aging that might be beneficial to us. And list eBay as always.

Went to town, got deep Tissue. Spent time with Ms Chen. Ate Lunch. Stopped by Sportsmans warehouse, picked up more 511s and 200 rnds of Hornady .223 60 gr sp(3000 fps). Ate Fudge. Came home and cut the bolts off, the front Bumper of, my 84 Bronco, "GODZILLA" style. Nuts were froze.
