Round 2 was we folded up 4 loads of clean washing and put it away. DH then did some book work for the RSL. DH swept the kitchen floor and washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away.

We are currently making an apple crumble to take to church for Sandwich Sunday and also making a blueberry crumble for us for dessert for a few nights. Just fed the kangaroos with bread crusts we had and it appears we have multiple generations of them with 2 baby redneck wallabies and mothers, looks like a grey kangaroo alpha female by the size of her and saw our swamp wallaby too. They will be able to come in with their babies until we get the back gate back up and then they won't come in as their babies won't be able to get in.

Heard that more of our friends are in danger further south by around 100 km with more bush fires down there. We will find out how they fared tomorrow no doubt.

Tonight we had chicken soup and rolls for dinner and waiting on the dessert now.

Weedy swimming pools hold lots of water but it is no fun keeping them treated.
Yes, they do hold lots of water, but require maintenance. I worked at the swimming pool in my home town when I was young. Lots of work involved! And, if people are swimming in it, I am not interested in drinking it, that and all the chemicals in it, even after I run it through the Berkey.

I can just hope that Cat. 3 grand daughter is still in fine form when her grandpa(my ex-husband) and great grandparents get here in 3 weeks.
This way they can see how she really is in fine form.
I'm taking my measuring tape(that stays in my purse) measuring walls trying to decide how to better set computer area/sewing area.
What I have right now isn't working well. Correction it's not working at all.
Have to make trip to Wal-Mart, return dehydrator. It stinks, gives me instant migraine.
While I'm out will return books to library, then to Alidi's for few items, Save-A-Lot for coffee.
My big splurge will be local ice cream shop for ice cream. Yum!
Then will come home, put everything away.
Kick back and relax.

Discovered this week that I've got a big wild cherry tree hanging way too much over my back yard...could be dangerous.

So I got a tree service coming this morning to give me a quote to get rid of it.

I guessed $500, wife guessed $1000.

Jim

FYI

I had 5 trees removed (too close to the house for comfort). All 50 feet plus in height. Crane operator would lift one of the two climbers to the top of a tree. Tie off the crane to a tree, a few cuts and the Climber would repel down. Took them 2 1/2 hours. No cleanup, brush and wood (12 foot plus lengths) was left (as per my request) for me to deal with. $1,500.

My mom had one tree removed, including brush and wood removal. $1,000.

The tree service just left.

It must be cheaper in my area LL.
One 60 ft ,40 " dia wild cherry , hanging over entire back yard from the woods beside the house ...$200.00.:woo hoo:.

So I asked about taking 5 more smaller ones about 30-40 ft tall and 12" dia .
He will take all of them clean up with a big bobcat mulcher .
Total job $700.

I think I won the guess .

I'm happy , except he is 3-4 weeks out.

Jim.

Liszt is almost impossible to play by mere mortals. Alas, I am not one of the piano gods who can do it. The piece I'm doing above is actually written by Franz Schubert, and then Liszt transcribed it. Which makes it difficult enough. But it's one of the easier ones with Liszt's name on it. He was quite the ladies man and showoff when he performed.

Here's one of his that I always wanted to play, but I am not good enough. It's weird high tech video, but it shows you how Liszt knew the keyboard so well that he could manage to get his hands to the right places to hit the notes at just the last millisecond by crossing over/under with the far hand.

Beautiful! I love the piano,my mother was a fantastic pianist. She played since 6 was teaching by age 9. She loved the classics but could also do some mean rock and roll. Said it took her childhood and hated it till she was in her 20s.
One of my favorites she played was this one.

After a couple PBRs she had those pedals and keys really working. She would stand up an play. She could sing too.

Didn't have Hurricane Estelle today.
But her daddy did.
She has been heck on wheels for several days.
I don't think he will be saying things like his little girl is so sweet, and innocent for awhile.
Oh by the way Hurricane Estelle is now Cat.3.

I know the feeling after 12 grands. But just watching these great grands go makes me tired now.o_O

Your right about not drinking it without good filtration, but we could use it for lots of other things, like bathing, washing clothes,etc,etc,etc..:)
The chemical also got expensive ,we had above ground but not worth the work once the grands grew up nobody was here but us two except vacations.

Yes, lots of uses for water besides cooking and drinking.

I once stayed at a hotel where the pool was closed due to a high urine content. There is something I have never done, but know that people do. If I had a pool in a SHTF situation, it would be closed to bathing and swimming. People can be such pigs.

I agree. My kids weren't allowed in public pools because of what happened to me when I was a kid visiting my aunt. My brother threw what he thought was a piece of wood and hit me in the face, it wasn't wood! About time it hit me we both realized it wasn't wood.:ghostly:
I always made the grands pee before they got into pool, No pee ,No Swim.

One day one of my cousins said she wasn't going to go swimming at the pool again because people pee in the pool. I was dumbfounded. It was the first pool I had ever been in. Later, it made me think she must have been peeing in the pool. I do know the pool water was tested regularly and chemicals were added to change up whatever it needed. But pee is pee.

This resembles some people I know up close and personnel.
Especially the waistband of his shorts sticking out.

Yeah, those are 'Fruit-of-the-Looms'. The elastic goes away in no time.

All of us with 'big-money' wear Haynes <snort>.

FOTL's are the only kind hubby will wear. he says they're the only ones that fit him correctly
It depends on a lot of factors.
Like how much you stretch, how much you sweat etc.
For me, I can tell you that the basketball court is not the only place where ball-control is important:rolleyes:.

Lol. I don't wear Hanes because they rip out too fast. FOTL lasts longer but Gildan is more comfortable. Boxer briefs only, thank you very much...

Started off the morning with a really early morning as I had a RS meeting at 8 am so we left at 7.20 am to head to church and saw at least 30 kangaroos lining the road edges as I was spotting and DH driving. If you pump your car horn at them most will go the opposite direction into the bush except the grey kangaroos which are thick as bricks and will jump out in front of you. A baby took off in front of the car followed my mum we slowed and hit the end of her tail so will have to look at the front of the car to see if we have any damage.

Had a good meeting and a nice day at church and a sandwich Sunday afterward where we brought our apple crumble and we came home with none left.

DH shortly will water the vegetable seeds in the garden beds and water the potted fruit and herb plants and then we will cut up the capsicum we purchased on clearance for more freezer stocks.

Tonight's dinner will be a mince and vegetable stirfry followed by another 1/3rd of our homemade blueberry crumble.

It's rainy and cold here this morning, which wiped out our plans. The church was having a fall family kick off with outdoor service, fun outdoor activities, a fried chicken lunch, and a worship concert. Just days ago the weather was forecast at 71 degrees and sunny. It's in the mid-50's and raining. Meteorologists are con men by the way. Anyway the fall family kick off has been postponed and now it's just going to be church and then us figuring out what to do for lunch. Not sure where the day will go from there.

Today is second day of yard sale - half off day. We did okay yesterday but were/are hoping to get rid of the larger bulk this way. It began raining about 6AM so we were out scrambling to rearrange things to try to have everything under tarps. We covered most last night "just in case" but a few larger items needed wiped down and covered. It just subsided and is now barely sprinkling. Big prayers it holds out. Might call Veterans tomorrow to see if they can use leftovers. I know there are times soldiers return from service with essentially nothing in the way of household goods.
Another side note- we don't like to dicker so did first day regular price and second day half off. It's funny how some folks enjoy dickering - even over 50 cents. Only one or two people have acted a little grumpy over it. Everyone else has seemed totally mater of fact. There was one young man about midday asked if we were accepting offers It's interesting.

Been updating my books lists on Good Reads, Book Buds, Google Play store.(free books)
Went for several walks with Strawberry this morning for several reasons:
1. exercise for both
2. She needs to relearn her manners when we walk.
3. Nice cloudy day
Been crocheting between walks just about got another blanket finished.
Already sketching out the next one.
Sketch will go in binder, with picture along with notes on pattern, stitch example.

Yard sales are a pain. We had a huge yard sale at the school when we closed it. For help we had a set of parents, two grandkids, and husband and myself. Husband can sit and watch people, but doesn't get around much. We hauled a ton of stuff out, then it downpoured. Covered with tarps, but a lot of books got wet. Anyway, everything was super cheap, make a deal, and after 4 hrs, everything was free. It was surprising how picky people were when it was free, liked they missed the arguing part. Still had a lot left over to deal with. So I don't like yardsales, so much work. Am starting to clean out our house, and just taking stuff to the thrift store. I am trying for a once a week trunk load.
A bunch of grandkids and two of our kids coming for taco bar dinner tonight. Granddaughter who lives with us has a friend over, and grandson has been camping at Navajo Lake and should be coming back in around suppertime. Going to make some brownies and blueberry platz for dessert.

.
Ain't that the truth!
I put stuff on a table out front with a 3-foot sign that says: "FREE" and just watch out of the window.
I won't lower myself to their bickering. Here's something that costs $200 new and it's in unused condition marked $1.00 and they want to offer me 50-cents?
I show them what kind of a sound it makes slamming into the bottom of the garbage can and they cry:cry:.
What, I only threw away 50-cents right?
When it gets dark, everything left on the table goes into the dumpster.
I am NOT working 3 hours for $8.50 .
