Just got out of VA ,6 month physical.
All labs are perfect

So happy, A1C was 6.0 ...:green man:

Jim
After sinking all that money in your new knee they better keep you rocking!
You gotta put 30,000 miles on it or they get in trouble.
I go in for my 6-month, they take one look at me and just start writing things down to lecture me about.
When the labs come back <AWESOME!> I can see them going...Dammit,Dammit,Dammit!

He ain't goin' nowhere anytime soon!gaah

I start all over again 8 weeks from today . Nov 20th... another New knee.

Jim
I'm costing the VA a fortune.
You paid the price many times over, by giving them 'years'.
Get you another one in November:thumbs:.
I'm sure they will be pleased with what you have done with the first one.

Got home and remowed two of the garden spots. Then pulled the sub-soiler thru them. Ground was bone dry 15" down. Ground is pretty loose now, for mostly clay. Gonna disc 1 1/2 of the spots in clover and annual ryegrass to over winter. The other half will either get sowed with something that will winter kill, or leave it bare. That will be my onion and spring green patch.

Too soon for a new knee they tell me. I am waiting for them to do a surgical clean up of the calcium buildup first. If that doesn’t do the trick then a new knee at some point. The arthritis is making stairs, ladders and the like harder, and if I have to get up after being down on my knees working, it’s a bear.

That's where I was .
Plus waking me at night with pain.

I will encourage anyone to go the implant route.

4-6 weeks of being uncomfortable, never had any severe pain, just stay ahead of pain with pain pills and all is good.

I can't wait to get the other one done.
Would have done it sooner, but I just got a lot of chores and fall projects to get done.

Man do I hear you about nighttime pain. Pain is the enemy of sleep. I’m hoping the clean out will make a difference, I tried to talk them into going straight to the replacement instead but they wouldn’t go for it. They only way I even got on the list was whining about the way it was interfering with making a living.

Sounds like my husband. He also has an issue with his knee caps being just to the outside of where they are supposed to be.

Hubby is working at being bone on bone. When he bends his knees the knee cap has to pop over to where its supposed to be and the cartilage is almost gone where it rubs.

I am so happy with the implant . No pain whatsoever walking, climbing or stretching . Super solid .
Still some inflammation a still a little sore, but not noticeable when walking or using it. Little annoying when just sitting around , healing, but that should cease in 2-3 more weeks. I am so glad I decided to do it.

Can't wait till I get to this point with the second one .
I should be good by Christmas, then watch out next Spring. :green man:

I used a walker first 2 weeks, a cane third week and nothing since, I admit that you gotta be a stubborn , bull headed person.

I will be testing the knee today .
We are going to the Amish community today for mum's , bakery goods, and just all around walking and shopping.:chevy:
Gonna be a long day.
Maybe I'll do a"day at the Amish" thread with pics.:doghouse:

That would be an interesting thread, love to see it Jim

That would be fun to see that community.

We go there twice a year, sometimes 3 times.
It's a full day , as it's hundred square miles community.
No electricity, no vehicles.
I have always said , they won't even know when shtf.

It reminds me of my childhood , that's the way we lived.

Jim

I have to go to work today. There is a community event that will exceed 15,000 attendees and that means my threat assessment and management team has to be on scene and ready to deploy.

What did I do today?
I tied a tie.
The neighbors came over in a panic, it's their son's prom-night tonight.
Seems nobody knows how to tie a tie anymore:rolleyes:.
Told'em that I put one on at 4:AM for 15 years while I was still asleep. I can do it just fine, as long as I don't think about it.
I got him fixed up.

And I did NOT tell them if their son had a good prom night, hopefully it would be hanging from some rear-view mirror before the night's over:D.
They live in a blissful world, ignoring one of the most powerful forces of humanity:p.

Bought a new upright freezer. It's small, but it's good. Put it on our back patio. Needed room for turkeys in the chest freezer. Two more to butcher tomorrow. Was food savering bags of flour I bought a while back. Couldn't believe the warning on the package. It said: do not eat raw. Flour is intended to be cooked. How retarded.
Emptied the dehydrator, food savered 30 lbs of sugar and 40 of flour and got that packed away.
