I had a therapy appointment today.
Three hours of recoil therapy and I feel like a new man!
Am I correct in my suspicion that recoil therapy involves small explosions propelling projectiles down range being repeated as required?

The plan for today is
1) fix the small plumbing leaks that I didn’t get to the other day
2) run my truck up to the tire shop, they put my snow tires on the other day and two of them are low
3) give my pound of flesh to the Province of British Columbia.they own the auto insurance company that you must use ... and yes a government owned insurance company is every bit the nightmare and expensive as you suspect it might be
4) have a go at getting the tractor going (the one that had the wet puddle I sat in the other day)

We will see how it all pans out

Praying for rain...

Only so I can bush hog the farm.
gaah

Jim

Well, the rain missed us.

Wife says I got all of October to bush hog , before next knee surgery,
She is the captain, so I wait.

Today, probably install new ceramic baffles in top of the wood stove.

Nasty job..:( .uugggh.

Jim

Dealing with high blood pressure 222/114 , so no dentist till it comes down. It has came down today after taking a medication I said I'd NEVER take' Lisinopril'. Plus have kidney infection and took sulfur antibiotic. But haven't taken that one again today, so far BP is better with just BP water pill.:doghouse::thumbs:
Hope all is having a good day.

Just finished installing new baffles in top of wood burning stove.
The old ones were 10 years old, and falling apart.
These baffles are rated at 2300 deg, cost $100.00.
They keep the heat circulating in the fire box. Keep heat from going into chimney. It really looks like a gas burner when fire is working properly , burns everything , no smoke out chimney.
First 2 tubes got to be removed to install.

Slow day.

Salvage wood and screws from a prototype target stand.
Clean out hair and greasy makeup from wife's bathroom sink.
Copy two Family VCR tapes to digital.
Keep a ear out for gentlemen who's coming this morning for firewood. He came loaded and left without me knowing. I need a driveway alarm.
Took the wife out for lunch
We spent the afternoon visiting and celebrating mom's Birthday.
Collected eggs.

Went out to lunch with my husband. Must be a going out to lunch day.
Did the animal chores, vacuumed, three loads of laundry done and hung, went to the post office, replanted all the animal fodder, mylar packaged 10 main meals, and 7 side dishes, packaged 6 lbs of dried beans, helped husband find a missing handytalkie, went to grandson's Boy Scout Court of Honor and a potluck.

You might invest in a pair of those plastic diaper covers before climbing aboard :D

Meer, that's high! Take care of you please.
@phideaux Nicely done! It does feel good to have crummy jobs completed - no longer dreading doing them.
@timmie I still think you must be feeding a small army.o_O

I have finally figured out a way I like zucchini- yay! I accidentally planted 1 zucchini plant which is keeping 4 households supplied. Tonight I made essentially eggplant Parmesan but used zuke instead. It was good! I don't even like eggplant Parmesan but thought it might be okay with zucchini. Glad I tried it. If you have such a bounty, might give it a try.

Today we went into big town a bit further away from town to put my car in for it's yearly service and had the handbrake adjusted as DH is a little heavy on the pull. From there the mechanic drove us to the shopping centre andwe had a look around the shops to kill a little time. I found a new cotton skirt and pair of shorts for $3 ea as I have very few pairs of shorts or cooler skirts. We had lunch together as well, it is going around :). Going into town we found a mum and puppies running around in the middle of the highway and saw the mum and a couple of the pups went so we scooped up the rest and took them to the home and knocked on the door. Told the young mum with baby that pups were in the middle of the road and almost got run over by a truck after us. She thanked us and put them in a pen to keep them under control.

As we still didn't have a call from the mechanics about the car being ready we walked to DH's psychology appointment on the other side of town and it went well and he has been responding a lot to suggestions and ideas about coping mechanisms which is fantastic to see :). After that we got a call from the mechanic after walking back to the shops that the car was ready to pick up so they picked us up from the shops and we paid for the car service. We had planned to pick up some fruit but by that time we looked at each other and said darn it we have lots of tinned fruit at home.

Dinner was a help yourself to anything you want night.

@Meerkat rest and relax that blood pressure is very high and glad you took the medication it should help. Sometimes as much and all as we don't want to take it it is meant to be anyway.

My heart rate has come down to 70 - 72 after taking the beta blockers instead of 100 beats per minute so that is an improvement.

@LadyLocust glad you found a way to cook zucchini that you like. DH has a aversion to it too.

Wow! You have a car with a handbrake?:antiqueauto:
They have even done away with foot-activated emergency/parking brakes here.
My in-law's GMC Acadia has a "button".
Good luck using that to stop the vehicle if the main brakes should fail:rolleyes:.

Picking up the house from having Grand daughter yesterday.
Picked up the yard from Strawberry 's business.
Had grand daughter for 2 hours this morning.
She played, colored on typing paper.
Oh she colored my enamel top kitchen table too.
Thankfully that scrubs off.
We shared a Clementine orange.
She sucked the juice out and gave me the pulp.
Still got dishes to do.
Tonight's date/ Bingo night.
Swept off the front porch, put my furniture back correctly on the porch.
Grand daughter dropped her drawers headed for the potty.
Granny follows up behind her with damp towel cause she dribbled on my floors.
Put clean dry big girl panties on her, had to change her dress, she peed on the tail.
But she got sticker for the calender just the same. Maybe 2 tablespoons hit the potty.
Everybody is finally on the same page for turning around her sleep pattern.
New backup sitter starts next week.
If new sitter works out Aunty will only have from 0545 hours till 0730 hours 3 days a week.
Granny will have Monday and Wednesday O730-1930 hours.
Sitter will have rest of the time, 5 days a week 0545-1930 hours.
Her mommy's schedule had changed too.
She went from third shift to first shift.
Her daddy's schedule changed from third shift to first shift starting the first week in October.
Granny hours are so new sitter can have a couple of days off.
Hope to enroll her in preschool next year, so she is around kids her own age.
Sitting here at the computer crocheting another blanket.
Everybody have a wonderful day.
I'm winning at Bingo tonight.
