Got my previously mentioned errands done.
Wife took me an hrs drive for one of those fancy hot dogs..

Got home , decided to take the grader blade off tractor and mount the bush hog.

Couldn't stand it ...had to do a little bush hogging.
OMG....too dry and dusty, I thought I was gonna die after one round.
Gotta wait for some rain.

They say maybe rain tomorrow.

Jim

She has very thin skin at her age and old soars will bleed some.

Try a good face cream instead of lotion. It has really helped the skin on my arms and my old (retired) Dr has started using it on her arms as well. I used to get cuts on things that where before I'd hardly get a scratch and the skin on Docs arms were "papery " and would tear easily.

Went target shooting today with a friend. After having shot .22LR at 200 yards for the last 5 or 6 range trips, shooting today at 100 yards was a piece of cake. It really does help to practice where you struggle (for me, that's .22LR at 200 yards!) That previous longer range work really improved my shooting at 100 yards today. Pulled out the .308 and shot a couple of magazines of that. And a handful of .22-250 to round things out. I'll tell you, honing your skills with .22LR at distance really translates well to centerfire. After the attention to detail needed for longer range .22LR, it feels like you can be sloppy as heck and still shoot well with centerfire. But I did miss watching the bullet impacts after switching to the heavier calibers. No way could I control the recoil well enough to see the bullet impact downrange with .308 (my muzzle would be blown a foot or two off target, at least!)

Topped off this wonderful morning of shooting with a fantastic fried catfish/fried okra lunch out on the restaurant patio up in the mountains. Gorgeous sunny blue skies here in Colorado. Days like this just make you sit back with a smile on your face and cherish life.

That's a dream day..

Hope you got that good burnt powder smell all over you.

Wife always says " you smell like gunpowder"

@Meerkat rest and relax that blood pressure is very high and glad you took the medication it should help. Sometimes as much and all as we don't want to take it it is meant to be anyway.

My heart rate has come down to 70 - 72 after taking the beta blockers instead of 100 beats per minute so that is an improvement.

@LadyLocust glad you found a way to cook zucchini that you like. DH has a aversion to it too.

Thank you Sewing for info . :huggs:

The plan for today is
1) fix the small plumbing leaks that I didn’t get to the other day
2) run my truck up to the tire shop, they put my snow tires on the other day and two of them are low
3) give my pound of flesh to the Province of British Columbia.they own the auto insurance company that you must use ... and yes a government owned insurance company is every bit the nightmare and expensive as you suspect it might be
4) have a go at getting the tractor going (the one that had the wet puddle I sat in the other day)

We will see how it all pans out

All of them are expensive and the doctors don 't benefit from it like they use to and 'SHOULD'. Anyone go through that kind of mind torture for 6 or 7 years deserves to be rich! I got a minute example in Hort and thats nothing like medial science. Chemistry is about the same except we have bones and pants have stem walls. Still working with basic biology and formulars.
Of course now we have med students that don't have to pass or qualify to be doctors, they just have to be PC .

Resting this morning.

Need to bush hog . Too hot too dry.
Waiting.

Will be going to auto repair shop set appt to have oil, oil filter, fuel filter changed, and sway bar links replaced on front end of the Beast (Ram )

Then to funeral home for some paper work from my Mom's passing in July.
The prepaid policy overpaid so there's $4200.00 in overage, and I got to file for estate executor to get it . PIA.

Jim

I just shoveled a small trailer full of dirt I got from field into raised bed. I need to exercise and it is good exercise.

Belated Happy Anniversary, @LadyLocust !

I've just been really busy with life and new puppy (nickname Destructo Dog) for the last week. Pup is coming along well, though! I've had lots of Church activities and events to work and we are getting a new Pastor by the end of October. Also have Revival in a couple of weeks. DH will be starting new meds for arthritis and fybromyalgia as soon as they are sent. He has another appt. tomorrow. I'm still cutting okra and picking figs every other day and the freezer is filling up. Have started making Christmas tree ornaments and writing Christmas cards. It's a busy season! Also collecting a few things I didn't have for my GHB from @Sentry18 ,s post. Today I am writing an eBay draft for a new with tags bathing suit from thrift store and doing some photos and making a Chicken and Brown Rice recipe in the Instant Pot. Made brown rice for the pups in the Instant Pot yesterday and it was so easy! Will be going out to dinner tonight with Bible Study class tonight. That's about it, I hope!

Puppies and kittens are the cutest. Next ones we get will be small dogs, medium and large are too expensive to feed and care for. But we like mutts no upkeep and they live longer than most and are free. Plus we save their lives and the suffering of the puppies they don't have because they are fixed soon as old enough. Most of ours has been large breed.

Went to put two cans of spray paint away. Had to reorganize half the shop to do it, took almost 3 hours. I think things had gotten a little out of hand

Thats a sneak attack job, happens here more often now too. I went outside just to water plants and it turned into a major shoveling, digging job in raised bed. o_O:)

My heart rate has come down to 70 - 72 after taking the beta blockers instead of 100 beats per minute so that is an improvement.

The kid started a beta blocker a few weeks ago and her heart rate is doing much better. Still goes over 100 at times but hasn't been over 200 since she started taking them. We just have to keep a even closer eye on her blood pressure.

Good to hear @Terri9630 I was wondering when the doctors would get around to prescribing them for her as they help a lot. They will monitor her for a month and then adjust medication dosage to see if she needs a larger or smaller dose as it takes that long in the body to get an accurate reading of what is going on.

Tonight I'm just sitting in my hotel, watching with amusement as the entire State of Iowa unleashes a hellish backlash at the Des Moines Register newspaper. That once proud and respected newspaper devolved into a slimy liberal rag and it finally bit them in the ass. They lost over 10,000 online subscribers in one day over the Carson King story and it serves them right. Adios, Register...no one will miss you...

He who is without sin should cast the first stone huh... I laughed when I read about this.

Yesterday we started the morning with washing up the dishes, drying them and putting them away and DH put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine.

We decided since we were both tired from traveling to medical appointments to have a cooking and baking day and made a double batch of Anzac biscuits, some chocolate fudge and a quadruple batch of chocolate pudding all made from food storage even the condensed milk. So far only tried the Anzac biscuits and they were good :) .

Last night's dinner was bacon and egg sandwiches for dinner for something a little easier.

This morning so far I have stained removed some clothing, put on a load of washing and when finished will hang it on the clothesline to dry. DH is pleasantly munching on Anzac biscuits drinking his hot chocolate. Shortly we will go down to the back boundary and collect the smaller branches he has chopped so far and load and stack them into the firewood shed.

Working on a AR-9 build. Found a company that makes a insert for Pmags (MeanArms.com). No mag well insert needed. Let's us practice using the "real" thing.
Give us a range report when you get that done.
