The difference is @phideaux is you worked the knee and did everything to strengthen it and that is where you are ahead. Most sit and do no exercises and wonder why it isn't getting any better. I knew from what you said your recovery would be way ahead so I am glad you have good results but I know you did work for it too.

I think that's the key.

I am exercising really hard 2 times a ra everyday now , building all the muscles in both legs,
But concentrating on the right one.

It's work, but I do believe it pays off.
I also apply heat to the right knee 2 times a day for 30-40 minutes to create greater vascularity for better healing.
Then when I get home I will go on a very high protein diet for 3 weeks. At least 100 grams of protein a day.
Promotes healing. Of course I'll do all the painful rehab exercises.

By Christmas I'll be Superman.:D

We check her blood pressure and blood sugar to see which it is so we know what to do and carry on. Her puppy is starting to get good at alerting to which it is.
Many years ago when we first moved here to Oregon and I got a job, I was picking fir cones for seed for BLM and the last time I did that I was about 30 feet or so up a tree dropping cones when it felt like someone was pulling a sack over my head, it was getting dark and I was seeing stars, I wrapped my arms around the tree and prayed that it would go away and I wouldn't fall out of the tree, it went away and I climbed down the tree safely. I thought it was just because I hadn't had anything to eat, but later after a glucose test, I found that I had a problem with low blood sugar. There were times that I would have to pull over to the side of the road and let my wife drive because of this problem. Later on a friend put me on to a book called "Eat Right for Your Type" by Peter J. D'adamo, after reading things about my blood type, I found that I had a problem with wheat bread, peanut butter, corn and a few other foods and after changing my diet about four months later I realized that my low blood sugar problem had mostly disappeared, one more month and I had lost about 40 pounds, so everything worked out for the better, this was in 1999 and we are still using this blood type diet because it works.

The wife and I went to town 45 min away for Seafood buffet, she gets steak, no seafood for her.

I have mostly frog legs, a few shrimp, a few fish fillets,
She has a sirloin and baked potato.

My reward for working so hard I guess.

Total $15.45 ,drinks and all, because senior discount and veterans discount for me .

Sirloin Stockade , Murray KY.

Next time I'll get pics.

Been to the grocery store, everything is put away already.
Got 2 more bills to finish paying.
Then will see if I have enough for meat bundle for freezer.
Walked up 45* hill today to build muscles up for Right knee surgery in January 2020.
Finished up the last load of laundry, washed, dried and put away.
Tried out new recipe it was pretty good.
Have had pain in my ankles for the last several days.
Both ankles kinda like Charlie horses in the ankles.
Just figured walking up the new hills have something to do with it.

Great Mo, so glad to see yo working to get the muscles strong for after surgery. Makes a big difference.

I do a bunch of exercises, I have a 12" block I step up and down on ,
I find my hardest is balance , one foot in line with other foot, no holding on, looking up and forward..just stand there balanced. I think women do it easy.
I am getting better, but that is my hardest.
I just finished mine....takes 35-40 min.

I also do yoga.
Balance was hard at first after the first knee.
But as I regained it, started doing ballerina poses for balance.
My step goals is between 5000-25ooo steps weekly.

Thanks viking. We tried that diet when her blood sugar first started dropping. Unfortunately her blood sugar issues are only a part of a bigger problem. Her autonomic system is not regulating her systems properly.

Survived the CPS lady this morning. Got lucky. She loves where we live, it's her favorite village. Loved our house. Romanian egg buying man came by (every Friday) and bought all my extra eggs while she was here. (8 dz). I excused myself from her and got eggs out to him, and she realized what I was doing, and wanted eggs, too. Didn't realize I had eggs. But I had sold them all to Romanian guy. She wanted to know why he would buy 8 dz eggs, why he needed that many. I thought that was funny. She asked me what year my husband and I married, and couldn't believe it. (1983). She is from Chicago, then moved to LA and is here now. Her husband and her are visiting family in California soon...her brother and his husband (she wanted to see if I'd flinch), and her old boyfriend, and her inlaws. Loved that we had so many chickens, turkeys, ducks, then asked if we ate them. I told her yes, and then she told me she doesn't eat meat. I thought our atrium was an eyesore, but she loved it...the big fodder shelf was covering the view to the safe. We have bay leaf trees wintering in there, tomatoes, green onions, and tons of fodder. So she loves animals and plants, but doesn't eat animals, and plants are a lot of work. She said she'd put in a recommendation to California for us for our granddaughter. I think I'll drop by a dz eggs next time I'm near her office.

I went to the doctor today.
I haven't gained any weight. (but this also means I'm still as fat as always:rolleyes:)
DR. said my numbers were so good last time, that they weren't even going to do the blood-test until next time.
"See you in 6 months!":peace:

Round 2 of today is DH washed the dishes and cleaned the benches and I wiped them and put them away. I then stain removed some clothing and put on a load of washing in the washing machine and hung them on the clothesline to dry and then put on a loaf of bread in the bread making machine and it should be finished shortly. The cat just got another brush as she is shedding fur like crazy and has the thickest fur and I think we could hire her out as a rug and make a fortune :) and I just fed her too.

Tonight's dinner will be the other half of our mince and vegetable stir fry and dessert a little ice cream.

Viking we almost bought a donkey from BLM a couple decades ago.

So far today, I have made a pot of oatmeal, 2 pans of oven baked pork chops and some chicken breast strips. Baked a couple of chicken breasts also, cut up cheese and apple bites for dog treats. My shower curtain fell down so I am washing the liner with bleach and then hanging the Christmas shower curtain a little early but I don't mind. Going to take some eBay photos in a bit for DH and maybe work on 2020 photo calendar. Garden seems to be ok and not drowned. It's getting cooler now.

Worked on the mantle for the new house. Took a post from an interior wall in the old barn, used a belt sander to clean up some bark and splintered wood from one edge and a random orbital to give it a quick cleanup without removing the saw marks. I’ll carve a channel in the back that will fit over a two by four so we can attach it like a floating shelf, but that’s for another day.

Spent some time with some celebrities, a US Senator, and a Governor. I know you can't tell how thrilling it was as there is no emotional inflection in text. So I will just add this . That's 12 hours of my life I will never get back. But no one died and all of the events when off without a hitch. So I am sure someone above me in the chain of command (who had nothing to do with planning, organizing, or implementing the public safety or dignitary protection details) will get a pat on the back come Monday. So it was all worth it.

I'm getting ready to head out to the symphony shortly.

Bach, Beethoven, and Brahms
  • Beethoven: Egmont Overture, Op. 84a
  • J.S. Bach: Brandenburg Concerto No. 3 in G, BWV 1048
  • Brahms: Violin Concerto in D, Op. 77 featuring Yi Zhao, violin
Wow. Lynyrd Skynyrd is about as high toned as my music gets...:p

@Haertig All 3 of those pieces would be worth hearing live, but the Brahms piece is appropriate to have at the end - best for last!
@phideaux Sit on a hard chair (not recliner,) put your four fingers of both hands to your diaphragm. Close your eyes and breathe in for the count of 4, hold for the count of 4, and breathe out for the count of 4. Do this 4 times. Yes, I know it sounds odd, but it helps you absorb oxygen and helps center you so helps get out of that weird funk. Balancing exercises are also good but where you just got one knee and going in for another, please don't do anything where you might fall. It's kinda like when the bubble in the level splits and you have to give it a shake to right it. Equilibrium in the brain controls much more than just your balance.
