Dog baths, 2 Belgian Malinois and one German Shorthair/Lab. Now for the drying, dig out the FURminator for the two Belgians and final flea treatment of the year.

You need more women in your life. My mom, wife, and daughters go shopping as a team and leave us men home unattended and broke. ;)

Hope you can light a fire under them @squirrelhunter !

Ran around all morning --First did my 2 mile walk, then Dollar Tree to fill a shoe box for Church ministry, day old bread store for my bread and sweets for DH, visited a bit with friend in nursing home, thrift stores because I can, Walgreen's for free 4 x 6 photos to put in Christmas cards and then Hobby Lobby looking for whatever one is supposed to paint rocks with. Already had my 10,000 steps in when I got to Hobby Lobby.
Came home and played with dogs outside and then started a load of laundry and did calisthenics. Besides goat duty, that's about it for today.

WARNING! Do NOT take your wife to Doctor appointments!!!!!!

My dad did all of the driving. He'd wait in the Doctor's waiting room until mom's appointment was over until. The last time the doctor came out with mom the doctor said, , "Mister L, you're next!" Mom had made a doctor's appointment for dad without telling dad! The next time and every time thereafter dad stayed in the car.

Oh the sufferings I endure , with a smile on my face . For my lovely bride.

I know she won't read this so I will let my ulterior motive be known.

I intend to start shopping soon, after new knee is healed, for a new car ...I need more room than the one we have now.

So....does my indulgence in the , many, all day shopping trips make sense now ?
:ghostly:
Ya gotta be smart ,

Perhaps you should take up knitting or whittling so you can be productive while she shops - heehee.

We've been on the go - working lots. Thursday I filled in at my former office for the day, found out I had all my CE courses to do by Nov 1 - got all of them done in one day! Friday drove 4 hrs each direction to Loonieville and back picking up a load of galvanized metal, Saturday went to the folks to see uncle from Utah who was visiting, yesterday had to run a couple errands in the morning then worked in yard getting a few final things cleaned up, sewed a bit in the afternoon for sanity's sake, today drove to Lewiston ID dropping off and picking up a load, then back to the office and finally home to cook dinner and crash. Yes that is one long sentence, because when the days all run together, that's what happens. I know I've missed some things but will try to catch up.

I bring my embroidery with me when I have to wait. LL has the right idea, Phideaux. Play with baseball cards or something.
Phase one of winterizing some of the chicken, turkey, duck runs. I tarp the sides to keep the cold wind out. Put up 1/2 dozen tarps and added fresh straw all around. Out of tarps, but will have to get more tomorrow. It will be in the high teens in the night starting Wednesday.
Put 10 lbs of carrots in the dehydrator. Cleaned house. American Heritage Girls and Boy Scouts were tonight.

Late night wakies again, got 3hrs sleep, up early, by 7. I had to meet the garbage truck, besides regular household garbage I had a full truck bed to go, major clean out. It finally showed up at 10. I helped the guy empty my truck, 11 milk crates of junk plus more piled-on top.

It was a foggy morning but warm, 60+. A nice morning for a short walk while I waited, photo’d some medicinals near the yard. I hung out and played with the pup! It made his day. I haven’t been able to spend much time with him for a long while.

A short nap after lunch then a trip to the big town for the bottom of the list items I never seem to have time to get normally. I got velcro to fix some kitchen cabinet doors that won’t stay closed. Some parts bins were on sale at the big box store. 1/2 the price I was going to pay at the big internet box store. I can delete those from their wish list.

I got a good plastic case with a clear lid to store all those small boxes of nails and screws that always seem to be in every room in the house, not organized at all. I got a half dozen other items from the bottom of the list, those were just the highlights.

At the little produce market I got scuppernongs, jellies and jams. Another stop at the big super market for a few things then off home. Oh! also got two new mops, broom, new bucket, cleaning goodies as the rains are supposed to start again in about 12 hours. I hope my house doesn’t flood again!

A very productive day…

Started off the morning with allotting money to varying accounts including savings and paid another extra payment off the home mortgage. DH did a few phone calls and organised appointments for having the cat have her yearly vaccinations, his car to be serviced and a doctors appointment for days we are already going to town on other errands.

Finally we got a time when we can all be there to dress our friend in the funeral parlor so that is organised. Tonight's dinner was rump steak and steamed vegetables and dessert ice-cream.

Sorry to all for the parking lot escapades of yesterday.
Just super bored .
We must of drove over 200 miles. It's over 60 miles to Clarksville , by interstate, we came home back roads and every town that had stores.
Bless her heart..she's a shopper.

Today I rest , she has doctors appointment at 11 , only a mile down the road.
Then she will pick me up for a late lunch.
I may piddle in the garage a bit.

Working on getting mentally and physically to go clean on cousin's house tomorrow for a few hours.
Just now getting warm from working on her house last Saturday.
Got 1 bedroom just about completely cleaned.
Just need to run sweeper, dust furniture.
Then work on second bedroom, hallway.
At least this time will have a crew to help.
Next week will start on downstairs bedroom, living room, kitchen.
Will have to think of job she can help me with in the future.
Worked on the hallway for a hour after finishing up the main upstairs bedroom.
Except for sweeper and dusting.
That furniture in the hallway needs a good dusting, sweeper run there too.
Would rather run the sweeper all at once then do it in start and stops.
Just putzing around today as tonight is date night(Bingo).
Will have to check to see if I have riders tonight.
Had a dusting of snow last night, it didn't stick.
Don't know if it was considered tracking snow or not.
Of course Strawberry had to go outside take care of her business.
She made little tracks in the snow getting to her spot.
If it is considered a tracking snow, I'm thinking 28 snows for this winter will be a little bit much for winter.
Need to fix some lunch, maybe nap for a while.

@Peanut Doesn't it feel good to get things cleaned out and organized? Handsome pooch. And I have no idea what scuppernong is, but it sounds like something you should be treating not eating:)

:D Now that was funny!

@LadyLocust Long ago there were 25+ species of native wild grapes in North America… A lot less now due to cross pollination etc. with European grapes (Vitis sp). Of the natives that are left the most famous are 1) Muscadines, a red grape 2) Scuppernongs, a white grape.

Below is a photo of both, Scuppernongs in front and Muscadines behind…

I love both, eaten from the vine or rinsed and put in the fridge. Jams, Jellies and wines are made from both.

Scup (cup with an s)… per… nongs (non – s), g is silent. Yummy grapes, wild and sweet. A lot sweeter than european grapes, very different taste than grapes from the store.

;)

You're applying logic to a situation that involves a female? Newly wed?

@Peanut Ha! I knew what Muscadines were but had not heard of the white grapes. (Also, thanks Amish!) I don't believe we have either in this area. Always interesting to see/hear what grows in various areas and the different names for the same plant in different areas. Here, we have service berry, june berry, saskatoon - all the same thing, though I think technically in some areas a june berry might be slightly different.

Got our chickens wrapped up with fresh hay and shavings yesterday. I don't think they really appreciate it, they've only given me 4 eggs all week.

Went to work and emails and decisions and meetings to make a living, then took off an hour early to make a life. In this case that meant picking up a 24’ ladder ($77) and an axe and heavy hammer ($17 for both) that we won on a local online auction. The ladder was a steal considering the $300 new price for it at Lowe’s and the axe turned out to be better than expected as it’s a Kelly Perfect with a good octagonal handle. Tomorrow is more travel to more meetings and decisions but it’s necessary and fulfilling work.

Very nice haul Peanut. I have both types growing here. I took cuttings from my dads plants, who got his from his dads place. No clue where they came before that. They are super tasty. Make great jelly/jam, and some very fine wine as well.
