Just so you all know my grand daughter is having surgery on Monday.
This is the reason I will be off line for a bit.
She is having adenoid revision, bronchoscopy, tonsillectomy on Monday the 17th Feb.
If all goes well hopefully she won't be in the hospital for 14 days post op.
Please pray for my 2 year old grand daughter.
She and Strawberry are the reasons I get up in the morning.

We'll be praying for both of you. She should be bouncing around in no time.

Happy St. Valentine's Day  I am just curious if you talked to your moonshiner about your vision before going to the opt. (I do hope they figure it out for ya.)

@Spikedriver Hope you packed your longhandles!
@snappy1 If you ever decide to do it again, I would have in writing - All files/photos deleted after 30 days. Sounds like you're out of that field but just in case. It bugs me that folks are so irresponsible and inconsiderate of others' time and money.

When I had my business, it was photos and negatives.

Praying for your granddaughter, @MoBookworm1957

From the sounds of it, similar to what my son had at 2 yrs old. He could hear, speak, breathe normal after surgery. Will certainly keep you both in my prayers - and that it is as successful as my son's was.

Somebody want to explain to me why before I have Physical Therapy my knee bends just like it supposed too.
Straightens just like it's supposed too.
But I get started on Physical Therapy it tightens up so much we can 't measure it for surgeon.
I got told today I wasn't exercising at home enough.
I told PT assistant to kiss my *ss.
Walked about 2000 steps yesterday, exercised for VA Physical Therapy just fine.
Bend is at 110 straight is 1-2.
Came home and called VA Physical Therapist that is working with me.
Maybe she can get to the bottom of this bs.
Cause as far as I'm concerned I am done with local Physical Therapy.
VA Physical Therapist supposed to call me back later.
Only have 5 more scheduled appointments with local Physical Therapist.

Can't answer that.

But,
I dumped PT as soon as I was happy birthday with my range of motion...I don't plan on playing football...just normal function.

Surgeon measured me at week 6 said I was a year .

my bend was 95 to 100, ext was 4.
He was happy , I was happy.
Mine gets stiff overnight ..a little. The more I walk the looser it gets.
It takes a full year to full healing.

Jim

Prayers for you and sweet granddaughter, Mo.

I ended up driving little granddaughter to school today after waiting 30 min for a bus that didn't come. She was cute today, wore a dress and clip on earrings. Had her valentine box all decorated, and excited about her party. Went to the post office, and to pick up lunch. Husband went out and brought back some flowers and candy. Plumber has shown up, and have no idea what he's doing. Getting ready to deal with all the animals.

Can't see much. Eyes dia payed.
On our way jomr

Glad you had a driver... fall of 18 before my cataract surgery they dilated my eyes unexpectedly in Birmingham. I was by myself with no driver. I confess, I lied, didn't want to make another appointment and drive back again. 100 miles home into the sun with a cloudless sky. Talk about a headache... :eyeballs:

I waited an hour at the hospital then found an 18 wheeler going my way and followed him.

Dial ating the eyes is not good.
That was about 9:30 am , it's almost 4pm , I'm just now getting to where vision ain't blurry.

Got a new pair of glasses coming . They hope the new script will eliminate the double vision.
If not , I gotta go back and get prism lenses.
Cataracts are progressing , but not enough for surgery yet.

I could not have driven home.

Got home , went for lunch at favorite place. Fredonia KY.
1 horse farm town , population 200.
Look what came thru town.....too big to run interstate.
195 ft long , 14.5 ft tall, 19 axles. That was entertaining.
I ain't the best cameraman.

Jim

Better perspective of the size.
They said 19 axles.
I can't get a good count.

That is more than just a tank. It looks like a reactor vessel. NO, not nuclear, chemical reactor. They are used to combine or separate compounds into what they want.

Yes, with temperature control and cells for reagents or catalysts added inside.

VA Physical Therapist called back this afternoon.
Said I just got to do the last 5 Physical Therapy sessions.
Even if they want more it's mine and Surgeon's final decision.
More mine than surgeon decision.
They are still looking for pain pill I can tolerate without upchucking, or hives.
It's not like I'm going to ride in rodeo, or play football, or be a gymnast.
I want to walk standing tall, looking good in size 12 jeans.
Maybe a size 10 jean.
Want to be able to play with my grandchildren, Strawberry.
Go fishing, 5 k's, travel without pain.
Haven't had a pain pill since broke out in massive hives 13 January 2020.
I'm happy where I am now.
Now if I was going sky diving, yes I would probably want better range.
But I'm not the type to jump out of a perfectly good airplane these days
In my younger days yes I would, but not now.
Thanks for letting me vent.

Thanks Spike!

Hi all, I'm new here. I'm hoping to get to know people around here.
Mobookworm, I hope your granddaughter's surgery goes well. Tonsilectomy/adenoid removal is a pain, but I'm told it is better when people are younger. I had mine out in my late 20s & it sucked.
Terri, that was very sweet of your foster brother. I hope your husband's pay will kick in soon.

I had intended to be productive yesterday but my kidney stones were acting up & my best friend's pregnant fiance called & wanted me to come sit with her because she was having anxiety while my friend was at work. Neither one of them have reliable friends or family (aside from my family) to help them out and look after them. She has a heart condition & freaks out very easily so she was freaking out. I helped distract her and calm her down & stayed with her until my friend got home from work.

I'm hoping it will be warm enough tomorrow that I'll be able to work on some projects in the workshop. I have a huge yard so the workshop is not near the house & I'm out-of-shape. I've been working on a replacement back door because the old one is rotted. It's a prehung deal but in addition to replacing the door & frame, I have to repair the floor, trim the cripples, replace the jack studs, move the 2x4 above the door frame up & level it, & add an actual header bc it's in a loadbearing wall & doesn't have a header. I will need to add some bracing for an awning on the outside as well. I have the pet door in & have mostly painted the door on both sides but need to do some touch-ups.

I need to do some major cleaning but I'm the only person in the house who cleans & I have back problems so I work slowly and have to take breaks. If it's too cold tomorrow (technically later today) I will work on something inside the house. Right now I'm snuggled up with some of my cats and two of my dogs. The Chiweenie is waiting for me to get up and let him in to my mother's room. He's her baby & is very attached to her. He runs outside to bark at stuff & then comes back in, forces my door open, and waits for me to go let him in to her room (because her door can't be forced open the way mine can).

First of all happy valentines day to everyone :) , our Valentine's day was yesterday here.

Prayers for @MoBookworm1957 and your granddaughter for a quick recovery :) . I had something similar done as a child and it fixed all the problems I had up and I haven't looked back and neither will your granddaughter once she has recovered.

@Terri9630 aww your brother is a gem and obviously worries about you such a lovely gesture.

Thursday we got our piping delivered and wouldn't you know it it turned up in a truck with a hiab crane on the front of it. He drove into the yard and as he turned his steering wheel I saw the whole wheel sinking like the Titanic in the mud and it kept going right down to the axles  . Out came neighbours, his friends with shovels and varying utes, recovery straps other front end loaders etc and a day later we extracted his truck. There is only roadside assist for vehicles here and not trucks so he was on his own so to speak. Anyway it turned out I was right they should have sent out an amphibious mode of transport to do our delivery  and we managed to get him out of the bog a neat day later with lots of holes dug in our yard .

Friday we got to town to pick up our grocery order and went for a doctors appointment for DH and myself where DH was getting more referrals to specialists to have some other problems sorted and I got the results from my blood test back and seems I don't have to take any medications at all for a month as my hyperthroidism has stopped and now I am not producing enough hormones. They said to stop the medications and get a blood test in another month. I am hoping this means my body has beaten the Graves Disease and I won't have to take any more medications but we will wait and see but I am feeling much better since stopping the medications yesterday. The lesions that DH had cut out were skin cancers so one the incisions have healed he has to undergo a month of efudix treatment on his arms, not fun at all after my face experience last year.

Unfortunately we had to leave everyone else to help the truck driver out with his truck due to prior commitments.

We then went and ate out for Valentine's Day and picked up our click and collect grocery order and came home. After a bit of a break we dated, rotated and put all the groceries away.

Last night we went to bed early and woke up later to this morning.

We have been taking it easier today as we are both sore from digging storm water ditches and help dig out the truck for the delivery driver. So far this morning have folded up 3 loads of clean laundry and put it away and that is about it. We decided we will go out to the RSL tomorrow afternoon to catch up with everyone.

Tonight's dinner will be banana fritters and cream as we have some bananas to use up.
