About 12 years ago in Kemmerer Wyoming one of our Navajos was drinking with another Navajo and a white guy. No one knows exactly what happened but when white guy was beaten to death with a lamp stand. One of the Navajos did 4 years for it. I guess the judge went easy because the guy was drunk and was native, but there's still a lot of hard feelings about it among my co-workers to this day...

gotta say one thing about them guys, they had some beautiful jewelry for sale
I had a wood cross they made that had [cat ate it] an owls wing in the center it was [damn cat] very nice

I've worked with dozens of Navajos over the last ten years and I love those guys, except when they get to drinking. Their culture fascinates me. They have some interesting stories. But white people ruined them with booze and drugs. It's a shame...

Drove my Nissan to town today for the first time since the rebuild. Have to say a big thanks to @Supervisor42 for all his expert advise we have a good running truck now👍 , couldn't done it without you Bubba, Thanks.

Its running cool and rolling free.🤚🙂

I'm happy for all of us and grateful to all who helped hubby get it going especially SuperV. Hubbt put lots of labor and pain in this one. Laid him up a couple times.

Had to blade the driveway , after last night's floods.

Friends came over and brought us a new kitty, gonna bring 2 more this week.
All of our back porch cats got married and left home:dunno:

Me and Doogan went fishing on the pond this evening.
The Bluegill were really biting today, fast as I could rebait and get back in the water....bang ...gone...big, huge bluegill.
I wish I had taken pics.
Fished for 30-45 minutes , put 10 big bluegill, and one Bass in freezer.

I hate cleaning fish , when it's 80 degrees and dewpoint is 75.

Be some good eating later.

1 row of 3 rows of peas came up :dunno: both rows of green beans is up.

Peppers , onions, tomatoes looking good.

Jim

Yes it was.

I got both knees replaced late last year , with plans to be able to do all the projects and chore around the place this Spring...it worked .

I got one thing left to do.
Put another coat of stain/sealer on deck.
That's it...I'm caught up.

There's always things to do, but the major projects are done.

Hope to do more fishing .

Jim

Thank you. I think gardening would be so much more productive with a drip system. I have to go through their website and see what I need to get set up.

Your welcome Weedy. I've used soaker hoses before and they work great on some things, Okra and beans come to mind. But for tomatos, peppers, basically single plants soakers waste a lot of water. With Drip you can put the water right where you want it. In dry climates I think it would be highly effective. It works well here in dry periods we have.

@Amish Heart :clapping: Please let us know when you are in the home stretch!
Have you had an offer yet?
Or did I miss that?
@Spikedriver I have a very good friend who is 100% Navajo and so interesting, such a good person and sober every day of her life, but she has stories about the drunks. It is very sad. She got out of the reservation many years ago and is doing great, has a beautiful family.

Still planning an early July move, because husband made a bunch of dr appts here for the end of June. Our house actually is not officially listed yet. Not allowed to do open houses in our state, and the agent wants to do a filmed 3D tour of the house and put it on line. So, the house has to be staged. Not fun with 6 people and quarantine. So mostly packing everything in pods and sending it on. Second pod left yesterday. First pod was unloaded by my cousins at the farm yesterday. Third pod arrives here Monday to load. I'm guessing we'll need 5 pods, and have the motorcycle and my car brought there, too. Son lives in the travel trailer here, so he'll just stay when we leave till it sells. We're giving him the trailer, so don't know if he'll join us later or not. We have 23 acres at the farm where he can live and build a bigger greenhouse if he wants. More workmen coming Monday to take an old boiler out, and another to repair drain spouts and some stucco repair. And I think another on Tuesday to put in replacement under kitchen counter lights. We'll see who shows up. Meanwhile, I just pack boxes. And boxes. I think child #4, our daughter and boyfriend will be coming Monday to help load up. It's a lot of work to load with just me and the grandkids. Dr daughter (#5) will have her Covid test results back Monday, so hoping she'll be over, too. No symptoms.

I have used soaker hoses as well and what a difference they have made for my property. I have used them along the edges of areas with fencing where I have planted such things as cucumbers. Prior to that, I had so many things that I couldn't get to grow. I was so busy, that I was not consistent with watering. With the soaker hoses, I can turn them on, let the yard get watered while I am doing other things. All of my former hoses are getting thrown away this year and I am replacing them.

Another challenge is sprinklers. I would really like an irrigation system, but I don't want to spend the money right now, especially this year.

I'm thinking about rearranging some things, ' hubby not a fan of that' but its ime to get my head away from the EMF blasting meter box. I'm not sure they sneaks didn't put a Smart Meter on the outside wall.Said it was a digital meter, not so sure.

And after that may put hopspital bed in living room so next tiem I have a night like last night hubby can be close aand sleep at same time.Who cares abou what it looks liek, nobody ever sees it now anyway. Again no fans on this one either.

While doing above also thinking on set up for fall greenhouse and garden plans. Hope we get rain and real SOON!

Short list today and already finished it.

Put chicken wire in back garden for peas to climb and to corral watermelons. Asked DH to just stand outside and hold post where I attached fencing. He decided to step over fence, missed getting 2nd foot over and fell flat on his back. When he fell, it looked like someone gently laid him down and I credit Angels. Never seen a fall like that- almost in slow motion! He came in and took a long hot shower and says he is fine.

Then watched Church on lap top, next long and short exercise video.

It's supposed to rain this afternoon, so anything else will be inside.

Property maintenance isn't part of my lease, but there's little mulberry trees growing along the side of my building and it's time for them to go. They're small, so I can handle it with a saw and a hatchet. Hopefully my landlord appreciates it...I'll need to find some TorDon or something similar to make the the trees stay dead...

It's cloudy and threatening to rain any minute. If it clears off, I may go dunk a worm later. There's laundry and general cleaning too. Won't run out of things to do today, but I might run out of motivation to do them... ;)

Spent a chunk of this morning sitting on the patio doing nothing. Best nothing I have done in a long time. Technically I was re-seasoning my grill at the same time, but over all it was close to nothing. Then I watched church on my phone as I sat outside doing nothing. Now I am back inside doing nothing, which I will follow up with some additional nothing as the day moves on. I am hoping to wrap things up by doing either nothing or next to nothing all the way until I go to bed.

I'm making the hospital bed into a 'daybed' in case you don't know what that is ,its a bed smart people use to have in their dens or living rooms, [ mostly in living rooms because most didh't have a den] . That way if they anted a ltie rest time without being in bedroom they had a nice little nap area. Seen them back in the 50s and 60s but not so much now.

Picture of a day bed,I can fix up H Bed to look like a day bed.Justadd a few frills to it.

Do nothing days are great, especially when you don't finish doing nothing today and it carries over into tomorrow!

Day beds are a thing in Air B'n'Bs. A little roll out mattress fits neatly underneath and is perfect for cramming an extra person in the room for the night. Come to think of it, not a bad idea for prepping quarters, either...

Snap sounds liek you got lots done, and glad an angel saved your hubby.🕊
Both hubby and I have experienced that kind of paranormal event. I fell backwards off a porch about 4 feet from ground, something pushed me back onto the porch. My boyfriend just stood back in shock seeing me fall and come back up like Matrix. We are not alone had several paranormal events over my life.

We got the bedroom all done ,mopped ,dusted, rearanged.Taking a break now then it's living room.

No bells and whistles just manual. But both legs and head lifts up but those motors made a $667.00 bed into a $2000.00 bed,so we will just crank it up ,long as both of us ain't laid up at same time of course,But also no need for electricity so if power gose out won't have to waste solar on bed.We are very conservitive, lol.
Hubby likes it he sleeps on it sometimes helps releive pressure.
