Have to pay water bill today.
Stop at Dollar General for DH.
Hardware store for big rope for dog chew toy.
Write eBay drafts.
Cut up cheese for dog treats.
Date and put away BBQ pulled pork that was PC'd yesterday.
This afternoon, going to wake for my neighbor.
Cover plants (every night, pretty much while it's cold). It's easier than bringing them in.

Bought a new pillow 2 days ago. All premium down feathers, and twice as much as my old 10 year old pillow. I slept horribly, woke up 3 hours too early, and had a stiff neck all day yesterday. Mama said since this didn't work for me, she asked to try it out last night. She woke up 3 hours early this morning and is now complaining about a stiff neck. So much for this expensive down pillow. It is going back to Costco today, unless I just toss it in the trash.

Pillows make a difference! I don’t care for down pillows. I actually prefer 2 thin “cushions” than a fluffy pillow.
I just received confirmation that my peanut seeds have shipped- looking forward to that experiment. Also last night, ordered the few seeds I will need and have been notified that they are ready to ship. Hunkering down and holding on tight.

Watching Andy and Barney.
Drinking my percaulated coffee.

Btw, I'm not watching all the lies and fighting and backstabbing corruption anymore.

Got a sore toe. :dunno:

Stoked up the fire , down to 68 in house.
Fed them stupid cats.

Be going to lunch at Southwest Oasis Steakhouse. When I say lunch , it's our only meal everyday around 2pm.

Then come home , may nap.

Y'all have a blessed , easy day.

Jim

I broke my neck as a young man, lots of neck pain in the decades since. Even more troubling is finding a pillow that works for me. The last few years I only buy pillows from the "My Pillow" guy, best thing since sliced bread. I give them rave reviews!

I don't buy their standard pillow. If you don't specify they send the standard pillow. It doesn't cost more to use their "color guide" and select the best pillow for you by body weight (T-shirt size/weight approx) . Personally, I like a pillow with less "fill" than their guide suggests for my T-shirt size. Even better, on the end of the pillow/center is a small area that is specially sewn so that I can easily undo the stitching and remove or add "fill" to get it just the way I want it.

Also, use the "codes" seen on their commercials. I get half off the regular price.

Another quiet day planned, cold outside, damp. Just going to putter around the house.

Today I’m making sure everything is ready and in stock for breeding season to start. Made my first “goods 🧬 “ order yesterday for delivery right to the ranch via UPS. New company after almost 20 years of the same Rep coming to the ranch. They even have UPS come back and pick up the shipper with their own label. Will be interesting to see how it goes.
If I have time I’m going to research flip phones, wrist watches and day planners and maybe get them ordered.
Have to set up cat traps as there are 3 kittens we saw in the field hay stack and garden this morning. They are young enough to get them spayed and neutered before they reproduce. They are quite wild which is fine with us. They can hunt all they want just not welcome to reproduce.

Strawberry has been walked.
She's snoozing in her chair.

Dishes are done.
Supper is cooked.

Turn it into a throw pillow! Down makes nice full throw pillows. Anytime I get my hands on down or feather pillows I use them for throw pillow inserts.

We use Mypillows. Been using them for a few years and love them! I have 2- each is a different firmness. If one is too soft then I use the firmer one. I got the girls Mypillows too and they love them!

Got up late today. Juju slept in my bed with me again. She even woke me up at sunrise because she wanted to snuggle in with me and the cats (under my weighted blanket).

To help wake me up I took a long shower. My left leg where I fell is bruising now. The whole leg has neon yellow and green bruises from the top of my foot to the top of my knee. It doesn't hurt much but it is tender just under the knee and I can't kneel down on it without screaming in pain. I was shocked when the bruises didn't form right after the fall. Well, I guess the injury was deeper and they are now coming to the surface a week later. I still have abrasions from the fall (impact scraps from my jeans- no holes in my pants though). The ones on my injured knee are gone but my elbow and other knee still have big scabs. I feel like a kid learning to roller skate!

Today is definitely a blah day. Waking up late and having a bad headache are not helping.

K and I are going to Bass Pro this weekend to see if we can get some Pyrodex and shot for my flintlocks. They say they are in stock but that can change in minutes there. K wants to look at the pistols. I have my eye on a long gun.

Hey Double R, you can get those at office supply places, like office max. I used one up till last year, and am now using a cheapo one from the Dollar Tree. I never use a phone or computer calendar.

Went for yet another doc appt for husband today, and then went to Chic fil a for lunch. We ate in the truck in the parking lot, looking out towards the Walmart pkg lot in the bigger town from us. Then I see little granddaughter's mom's van pull up next to Walmart, and her boyfriend gets out with a homemade guitar like thing. She stays in the van, and he goes over by the Walmart exit to play guitar and beg for money. They've been telling little granddaughter that they're job hunting. Ha Ha. They are getting a little too comfortable with the handouts here. Our bigger town is not like big cities where you see people panhandling. I've only seen one other person since I've been here, and never anyone in the town we live in.
So we ate lunch and watched him. Ha Ha.
Went to the grocery store and stocked up the stock up. The twins are playing "pep band" for the basketball game tonight. They are excited to see their friends. Just got notice that they get to go to school two days next week, then three days online. We are excited for that, too.

Hope you can take it easy, @Grimm . I fell badly 5 years ago, scuffed up my arm pretty bad and fell part way down the stairs. I was running and slipped.

I fell on New Years Day and I was surprised how fast the overall pain went away. Well, I guess my fall is a prediction for this coming year- It starts with a mass amount of pain and destruction that goes away fast but the effects linger on and on and on and on...!

We returned to the construction project as planned.

All of the rotten beams have been replaced. The house is now sitting on solid beams and foundations!

My brother worked on driving the ground rods for the new service entrance but soon ran into the very hard rock that his jackhammer could not penetrate.

So we switched to mine. Not making progress? Use a bigger hammer.

While he worked on the rods and fixing his jackhammer I installed joists hangers and corner braces.

We moved a"new to him" roto tiller he picked when helping a friend clear her uncle's old house to the shed. But first he had to point out a detail. The tines still had the original paint on them. It had barely been used. It it a TroyBuilt rear rotor model with powered drive wheels

I was very happy to be able to test drive the renewed shower. Felt good.

Tonight the granddaughters are coming for a sleepover. That generally means Dusney+ legos and pizza.

Behave,

Ben

Today I went for a walk in the woods, the leg zipper on my insulated coveralls gave out :( , left my leg hanging out all afternoon. I know it was cool because all the water was Ice. People had sat up where I wanted to go, so I went to the alternate spot, go in set up - 20yds back inside the wood-line overlooking a powerline cutout, after about 2 hours some people came and started walking up and down the powerline being very loud (They were all dressed in orange so I guess they were hunters, not good hunters, but hunters). I'm 30 feet up in the tree, afraid to come down to move as they might think I was a deer, I hate public property.... I wish it was raining or snowing, the city hunters don't like that kind of weather.......

Got home, the wife was baking cookies, I burned my hand getting them out for her.... :(

Checked on a replacement set of coveralls, they no longer make the kind I have...... Figures, I really like the ones I have and they are only 15 years old...

I think I am a little grouchy

Can the zipper be replaced?

Urban, just remember "A bad day hunting is still better than a great day at work". Works for fishing too. LOL

I had a plan for the day when I went to work. Gotta meeting next week for a new project. I got quotes for all our parts last May. Just now looking like we may get started, so I sent out yesterday for new quotes on everything. Some of the major parts for this project, and for many of our other stations, I find may be going out of business due to Covid. I know the company is based in Cali, so I don't know if it's Covid related for availability of parts, personel, or just Cali Laws.
Anyway I never got to dig into this at all. I got an email that we had a standard fail during calibration that was really bad. I spent all day and will spend most of Monday looking into the history of useage and calculating the error to make sure that we haven't let something get out of whack. A lot of this equipment is used for ventalation and control. If it goes out it can cause mass problems and shut down things that are best not shut down. Lots of eyes are looking at this.

I did get off work on time and wife called in an order for our supper. Stopped and picked that up on the way home. Winding down with a nice cold glass of E&J Silver Brandy tonight. I don't want to think about work anymore today.

I had a stressful day, Currently I have around 40,000 ft of new residential construction underway with our little mom and pop style construction company. Today I had fire suppression inspection, framing inspections, electrical inspections, plumbing inspections and HVAC inspections. Days like today really wear on me but the good thing about it we passed every inspection today! I’m having a stiff drink or 5 and trying to relax with the family.

Yesterday we got some cutting boards for my friend (the crappy bamboo one he had was falling apart). I picked up mail and went to drop them off. Got annoyed bc his ex was over there for no reason. She's desperately trying to get him to take her back. He had a new puppy. I was going to post pics but the poor puppy didn't survive the night (she was lethargic so I think she was sick). Wasn't feeling great so went back home with a headache.

Still got a headache today. Felt a little better this morning and actually had eggs for breakfast, but am tired. It didn't really rain much but the barometric pressure was making me feel worse. Headache doesn't seem to want to go. I've got a cat on my shoulder purring for me and that helps at least. There are a couple of them on my legs too. It's supposed to get colder tonight so I expect more to pile on. I woke up sweating pretty badly earlier-- think I had a fever again.

I've had a hard time finding good pillows. Either they are good at first and then flatten out or they aren't as comfortable once I get them home. Memory foam ones get too hard in the cold. My newest favorite pillow is a BeautyRest Copper Pillow that I found in clearance. It's like memory foam but it has perforations. It's nice and soft. It does have an odd smell at first though. It's flattened a little bit since I got it a few months ago, but not as much as previous pillows I've had. I need to find more long roll pillows. I got some at Fred's years ago but the stuffing is all crushed. I sleep with one at my back for support and another in front (I'm a side sleeper). I've heard putting them in the dryer is supposed to fluff them back out but I don't know. They are due to be washed soon so I can find out.

I knew a fella when I was in HS that was shot while wearing an orange vest standing at a trough watering his horse. And another I didn’t know riding, wearing orange, they shot his horse out from under him. Stupid morons don’t know the difference between an elk and a horse and will shoot at sound. 🤬
Sorry will get off my soapbox.
