Started off the day with DH stain removing some clothing and putting on a load of washing and hanging it on the clothes line and bringing it back in. We then attacked the sewing room and cleaned the venetian blinds, windows, skirting boards, fabric containers, belt rails and wiped over the bookshelf and sewing table. Moved everything to the middle doing one side at a time and vacuumed round the edges. I then organised a lot of things so they look neater and tidier now.

We then went to a specialists appointment for DH to see if they can do an operation that is needed. They are trying to get the expense covered by the military as it is related to the injuries he incurred during his accident. If they don't cover it it will cost us around $10 000+ to have the procedure done and pay for it. We have an option 2 which is to do a lesser procedure through the public health system which would cost us nothing but he would be on a waiting list for a few years before he was operated on. Prayers would be appreciated for a positive outcome to the defence force covering this expense. We do have the money saved anyway if need be but would rather not delve into our house deposit savings to accomplish this as it would mean we would be saving much longer.

Tonight's tea was sausage and egg sandwiches as we decided to have an easy dinner.
Heavenly father we come to you in prayer with a petition pertaining to a brother and sister in Christ. Father they need your guidance and intervention with the military assistance program. We know that you are the all healing physician and we ask that you would use this means to accomplish his healing. Be with their finances Lord and preserve what they have set aside for another use if it be your will.
Your Grace is always sufficient for our needs.
In Christ's name we humbly pray,
Amen.

I worked on my AR mag loader.
It's made of oak and will load 30 rounds very fast.

I also had a hearing test for new hearing aids.
Looking forward to getting some new ones.
Mine are 4 years old.
It'll take the VA about a month to get them made and sent to me.

Other that that I just stayed in out of the wind and occasional rain showers.

You got rain??!!! That's not fair, I want rain too! Where is my safe space.....

I had a busy day with lots of coming and going, watching dogs, going to two different dog parks. Dog parks are interesting places and I see a segment of society that I wouldn't see otherwise. I have met some wonderful people and I have met people who are really messed up with the choices they make.

Someone made an attack on my genealogy on Family Search, although she may not see it as an attack. One family group was basically blown up. Between the coming and going for the rest of my life, I had to do quite a bit of restoration of relationships, documentation and links to documents. I reported the person to Family Search, twice today. This is a family group that was an uncle of one of my grandfathers, a blacksmith, gunsmith and locksmith who lived in Chicago. Think of the work I have done, searching old Czech records, written in Czech, (which I have had to learn the basics of, and written in an old font that is very difficult), searching through the records, trying to find family and then translate them, connect the family, and then adding this information to the site, documenting and adding links, documents, photos, etc. Then someone, not even related, decides she can't be bothered to look at the documentation, but makes up dates, information, and relationships, without documenting it, and it was like a bomb on this family group.

I need to get a good genealogy software so this can never happen again. I have had a few over the years. It is the change from one computer to another that always creates a difficulty.

The good genealogy news? Every birth, marriage and death event in Czech genealogy was documented three times, in different record books, by different scribes. I have found one set that were the easiest for me, but never easy. Someone gave me information about accessing another set, in a very different way, and a cousin and I have been communicating back and forth, finding records back to the 1600s which were not available to us previous to accessing these records. This second set has several pieces of information that were not in the first set I looked at. Cousin and I haven't communicated like this for years. This is actually the wife of a distant cousin, whom I have never met, and likely never will.

Watched the grand daughter today.
Buckled her down in the stroller for the first time today.
Just sat there talking to her calmly while she got used to the idea.
Then we went outside for a walk around the yard.
We (I) sat on the back step watching birds.
We(her) picked a few flowers. We spent about 20 minutes in the yard looking at nature.
She seem to enjoy it after she calmed down about having to be strapped down in the stroller.
when we got back inside, placed her in walker, she chased the dog.
Got her settled, she finally took a much needed nap.

A busy day here today in the mountain cottage. I started off the morning with stain removing some clothing, putting on a load of washing and hanging it on the line. Moved into the food storage room and re-organised some tubs to organise the storage dates with oldest dates at the top, they are currently sitting on top of gorilla shelves stacked 3 high so a chair was needed. While I was doing this DH did round 2 of his gardening job and finished it as the gentleman asked for additional things to be done so he will earn another $25 on top of the $50 he has been paid.

When DH got back from his job I started deep cleaning the toilet, bathroom and laundry rooms and damp dusted skirting boards, belt rails and doors, cleaned shoes, washed walls in the toilet and some door surrounds, cleaned blinds and windows and did mini sweeps to get rid of the dust. After a bit of a break DH then did the same in the lounge room and vacuumed as well and did a load of washing and hung it on the clothes line. 3 more rooms to finish tomorrow and we are ready for our real estate inspection on Monday and DH will also pressure clean the back veranda and outside screens and windows.

This afternoon we took in two loads of washing off the clothes line and shortly we shall make the bed with clean sheets and fold up 2 loads of washing and put it away. Tonight's dinner was homemade pizza, yum :D .

Sister-in-law is having surgery. Bother-in-law is building a access ramp for her house until she heals. I've got the truck and utility trailer. Saturday drive an hour to pick up BIL and the ramp. Drive another hour to SIL to install the ramp. Weatherman is calling for rain all day. Drive an hour to take the BIL home and another hour to home. SIL doesn't have any money, BIL had had several financial setback already this year so I'm assuming I'm suppose to reimbursing BIL for the materials (wife hasn't gotten the nerve up to tell me yet). Makes the wife happy and keeps peace in her family. My morning and afternoon naps will have to wait until evening.

Today, I'm doing some cleaning and maybe eBay. That's it! Still have leftovers for dinner.

And now my day yesterday! Wow! Drove 90 miles to VA hosp. for DH's chest CT and pulmonary function tests at 7 AM. CT went fine but during his first breath at pulmonary test, he blacked out! So they did many other unscheduled tests including a CT of head, another chest x-ray and blood work and vitals. Kept us there until 4 PM. Thank God he got to come home! We came home with almost all results so at least there was a mention of COPD which is what we had been saying for over 3 months. His head is ok. LOL Probably blacked out from low blood pressure. And his HGB was 9.4 so definitely low iron. Then we drove 90 miles home. Still trying to get it so we don't have to drive so far in our old cars with over 200,00 miles on them. Glad that day is over and that he is moving forward a little bit! Poor pups were locked up in the house for way too long in their opinion! And the outside cat had kittens under our house! (the goats said they didn't notice we were gone! LOL)

Lots of spring cleaning taking summer clothes putting up winter clothes. Rearranging pullets and worrying about hubby heavy bleedign from kidneys and niece who has lost her mind since birth of her son.
Not to speak of the ' news'. At least frustration has put lots of energy in me.

Hope all is well .

I am having severe upper back and neck pain that is being persistent. I have taken aspirin and am heating a tub of water to 107F to soak in for a couple of hours. If that doesn't work then I will take my prescribed non-narcotic pain meds and go do some reloading. I resist taking the pills because they mostly just give me the mindset that I have done something for the pain without actually making any real difference. I use them as a placebo when nothing else works. My 15 day supply is two months old and has enough pills to last me another 4 months at my present usage. I don't like pills! I think the good Lord is teaching me patience. :)

Praying for your husband! And niece too!

Got all the power equipment cleaned and tuned. Repaired a bike tire for someone and put it back together. Need to drag the trailer out and then get to install cabinets in the garage. They were reclaimed from a kitchen install from work. Beer thirty in a few hours for sure though.

Glad it's Friday and glad I'm home. Need to cut up some veggies for some pizza toppings. Child #4 came to visit and borrow a suitcase. Her and the boyfriend fly out to San Diego for vacation in the morning. He has a fear of flying and can get very hysterical. the doctor prescribed valium for him, I hope it works. You're a good man, Lazy L. That ramp will be so appreciated. A few months back when my husband could only get around on a walker short distances, we made a trip to our farm. It was such a surprise to see that our family had made a ramp for him, started the woodburning stove, and left the porch light on. I honestly didn't know how I was going to get him in the farmhouse otherwise. Made me cry. Glad you got some answers on husband's health, Snappy1. He'll be in my prayers, and you, too.

Something happened today that hasn’t happened in a long time. I walked out in the yard and saw a little plant I didn’t know. It turned out to be Cerastium glomeratum - mouse eared chickweed. I saw a reference that the ancient chinese ate it. I don’t know why, it’s a scrawny little thing. Another reference said that in Nepal it was crushed for it’s juice. If someone had a headache the juice would be wiped on their forehead.

I really like finding new plants and figuring out what they are. However, I need more than an obscure reference before I’ll eat it or use it. ;)

Hi, Sheepdog,

Sorry you are having so much pain. It's not in my scope of practice to give medical advice, but I, too, have a lot of pain and hate taking anything. I've been using a combination of olive oil (30 cc), eucalyptus oil (about 15 drops) and peppermint oil (about 10 drops). I rub it on my legs and- surprisingly it really seems to help! Might be worth giving it a try. Of course, my hubby prefers to use aspercreme with lidocaine in it for his aches and pains. As long as the oils work for me, I try to stay away from the other stuff.

Be careful in that 107 tub- that's hot enough to scald you!

Hope you feel better soon!
