I am headed to the Cigar Store. Meeting a buddy, where we will enjoy a few sticks, watch a little Football, and solve all the problems of the world.

Today included a birthday breakfast for my son, a mild family misunderstanding, and a leaking fridge.
Pulled out the fridge, cleaned out a plastic container in the back, which was icky, fingers crossed thats all that was wrong. The fridge got a good cleanout, which is a job I hate more than the oven, as the glass shelves are really hard to separate from the plastic edges. Watered the polytunnel. Another mild day- the strawberries are still growing- its a bit mad. Missing my hens, they would be hovering waiting for 'treats' I would toss them from the poly. Been offered more, but can't decide whether to wait until spring.

Got up at 5, but that's just too early.
Wanted another hour but it ended up being 2.5..guess I needed it.
Going to walk pups , supposed to start raining soon..
Get more elderberries into dehydrator..
Wash bedding..
Work on my rug n relax n bake snickerdoolel cookies..watch some gems TV too..
I feel like today is my chill day..

Has anyone else noticed the ads on some of the threads here? It must be something new.
if you don't login, and are just "browsing , sometimes adds pop up, could that be what is happening?

Coffee, but you knew that .Going to take advantage of no snow cover, yet to get some more stuff organized before, I don't know where it is, and carry on with the firewood (junk in the way kind of slowed production yesterday

Slept in.. Coffee and a banana for breakfast.. Rain shower at first light this morning.. No where to go, nothing to do so will just chill around the house today..

Firearms deer season opened yesterday morning.. Glad the woods are damp to reduce fire danger.. At 400,000 licenses sold every year by now there is usually something on the news about someone getting hurt already.. Firearm discharge accidents are quite rare.. Most incidents are people in vehicle wrecks and tree stand accidents.. Keep safe..

60 degrees, grey and raining, so I'm reading with a cup of coffee on the warmer.

Just finished fixing the wiring on the small trailer, put up a new light in the feed room in the chicken coop and changed out the charge controller. Got a fire going in the fur shed. It's 37 degs inside so its not too bad. I'll come back up later when it warms up and enjoy a cigar. It's pretty wet and cold out so I'm not doing too much today.

I made it to the gym this morning to see my GF and work out, but I wasn't moving too well. We had some fantastic jambalaya for lunch and then took Ruby the Lab out for a 2 1/2 mile walk. She went to visit her son's family and spend time with her granddaughter at 3:00. I came home and will do some laundry now.

I was watching television and thought about going to get some iced tea, but the kitchen is like 15 steps away so I gave up on that idea.
text the kid bring me a tea....double dog dare you.....lol

She owes me for brunch, so I would if my phone wasn't on the coffee table. I would have to lean over and pick it up and I feel like that's just more energy than I want to expend. I suppose I could shout for her, but that takes effort too.

up late again i see ....lol

We had a beautiful afternoon, so I went outside and painted some trim on the windows of the garage, and also the old door to the old basement that was outside. The house is blue/grey and white, and this old door was darkish red with white. It has seen better days, but does look better painted. Painting is great when the weather was cooperating. Remembering when I painted my mom's house in California a summer when I was 14. Time to start dinner. Take turkey #2 out of the oven and strip the meat.

Did very little today, just rested. This evening I started planning a long over due project I’ve been dreading. Correct the poor lighting of a L shaped stairway wired 50yrs ago on a very tight budget. A circuit/switch at the top of the stairs turns on a light for the upper portion. A separate circuit/switch turns on the light in the room at the bottom of the stairs. Irritating, whether going up or down half of the stairs are always dark, either the upper or lower section. I’m going to put both lights and both switches on a single circuit, so going up or down the entire stairway is illuminated and both lights can be turned off from either end… technically a simple circuit.

In reality a royal pain, the upper section walls are covered in v-joint southern yellow pine. The lower section walls are cinder block. So to wire up this simple circuit I have to dismantle solid pine walls and drill/feed wire through cinder blocks. Part has to be done through the attic, technically a 3rd floor… and balance a ladder on a set of stairs and work from it in the dark.

I’m not worried I’ll be electrocuted, the electrical part is easy. I’m worried about broken bones from falling off the damn ladder while I work using a headlamp!!!! Wish me luck!!! (there are no windows, it’s the darkest corner of a 2 story duplex)

Sounds like two great opportunities to have a cigar. What did you smoke?

I am meeting my buddy at the Cigar Bar tomorrow. Not sure what I will light up, but I know it will be good.
Yesterday I took a couple of Oliva Melanio maduro rubustos. My buddy really liked it. That line is my favorite.
Today my BIL and I had a LaRosa DeCuba Mi Amora robust. Very nice cigar.
Family came out to visit and celebrate the wife's and my birthday. Just a month late. Its been a month since my stent procedure. Finally had a chance for us to get together. Had a fire in the pit, grilled some burgers and just had a fine time

Going on day 4 of recovering from swelling on the sternum as result of both seatbelt and air bags saving my life after that unfortunate incident last Thursday it hurts slightly less in comparison to Friday/Saturday I've gotten a fair bit of movement back not as stiff but still fairly tender just enough to be able to remove the VHF marine and VHF/UHF amateur radio out of my former 4x4 today along with other personal belongings but had to leave land mobile UHF installed as it was on the accessories listed in compo premium car insurance so most likely will get extra from payout to purchase a new one and antenna as well

For some reason I am very nervous about the assessment side of things don't exactly know why though hopefully the payout amount on my policy is what I will get or maybe a bit more but its the waiting/suspense which is putting me on edge

trying to get used to Stevia in my coffee.....instead of getting used to it ( I started this experiment yesterday) it seems to taste worse today LOL

It is finally RAINING, first time we get anything more than a short drizzle since the storm in September. I think this is probably the longest we have ever gone without rain that long since we moved here.
But looks like almost done so animals go back out here in a few minutes

Had something bad happen yesterday, one of the little bucks somehow managed to get over the fence and promptly did it with his little sister. She is a really nice little goat and I don't want to breed her till next year. If you breed them too early they never seem to grow up properly, besides chances of some genetic crap if she has kids from her brother go up. SO I need to call the vet today to see if I can stop her from being pregnant ( lol morning after pill for goats) . I seem to remember I did this once when we first started and a neighbor's buck got hold of one of our little ones that got over their fence.

So if we have to drive to the vet, I will do some shopping while there.
