What's everybody doing today?

Spent the morning at work and the afternoon at a shooting course. This one was specific to plain clothes law enforcement drawing and shooting from concealment / deep concealment in various clothing; coat, jacket, suit coat, etc. It was a good refresher. Instructor was not local but I know the guy from a school I attended at Sig Academy. It was funny watching the cops look at me trying to figure out who I was and why I was there.

Finally got my new used laptop up and running with most of my info...lost some photos but oh well.. Still can't get my old facebook to come up.. I used the same email for several accounts so now I only get a couple of old facebook accounts. I really would like to capture some of the memories and photo albums .
Picked up stuff outside, we had 65 mph winds yesterday evening...Cleans all the loose stuff up and plasters it on the downwind fence....

Worked on the Hobbit hole trying to get the new beam installed. The Princess assigns names to elements of my home improvement projects. We were watching the musical " Kiss me Kate" when I was plumbing the duel water heaters with spare. The heaters got named "Tom Dick and Harry".



So the new beam got named Jim Beam".

While clearing nails and obstructions I pulled these out.

I was interested because the heads were so thin and were offset.

I am curious but didn't find an answer.

The amish school's Christmas program was awesome. I picked up little granddaughter from middle school in the other town so she could go to. They don't do a Christmas anything because they're a govt school. So the secretary was wondering why I was taking her out half day, and I told her where we were going, and she was extremely surprised. Ha. Came home and had lunch, then picked up my favorite cousin and her daughter and took them to the program, too. Levi and his dad came by a bit ago to say Merry Christmas and brought us a can of Folgers with a bow on it. Very sweet.

I've know people who named their cars. Not me. One of my classroom assistants named her car Dusty.

Wow! You name your guns! OK, I have a rifle that husband named, but it's mine. He calls it my cheesegrater. So I do have something with a name. Besides the dog.

Just got finished mowing, grass was a little high. Mainly mulching leaves but it is still crazy to be mowing in December.

Didn't do much today... got the led light bar mounted above the washing machine. Put weather stripping on dad's aluminum door. Didn't help, the door has gotten warped over time, maybe I can catch a door on sale soon.

Bought some new storage bins last night, did a little organizing this afternoon.

Super power task of the day: I got my seeds organized! . I have a system that works for me (when I use it) but they had kinda been in a pile since summer. . Well they are now where they belong and in order. I will probably revamp the flowers and herbs but that’s a ton easier now that they’re in order.
Also did some cleaning, working on sourdough, got one last package sent off. Ran to liquor store for orange liqueur- one of the desserts for Christmas will be an orange mousse cake.

I've never named any cars but I do name my spinning wheels and my floor looms. My upstate wheel is named Aurora and the one here is named Lorraine . My French Canadian jack loom is name Jacques, my Swedish loom is named Bjorn, and my Wolf Pup is currently nameless. We haven't spent enough time together yet for him to whisper me his name.

This should be it's own thread! Our vehicles are named: The B1tchmobile ( my truck), The Pony (my car), The Fart Mobile (Hubby's Impala), Emerald (Hubby's truck)!

We received a Christmas letter from some friends- the fella has had two concussions, a punctured lung, both knees replaced, bruised kidneys and kidney stones, tore his shoulder apart and more- he finally sold the horse

I have a big pile of logs out back but have had no time or energy to run the splitter. After my bad experience last winter I was hesitant to order firewood, but my mom recently got some that was good, so I called that guy. He came today with a pickup load, and actually backed up to the empty rack and between us we got it unloaded and stacked in just a few minutes. So very unusual to have someone willing to stack, and without an extra charge! It was mostly oak, split a little small which is perfect for my little stove. So now I'm set for a few weeks and can hopefully get some split over the Christmas break.

I once got my uncles pickup stuck in sandy soil. Parts of southern South Dakota, and Nebraska are sandy, due to once being underwater. I was out driving his children, my cousins, on a Sunday afternoon. One of the boys walked home and here comes uncle with a tractor to pull us out.

We name areas of our property so that we know where we're talking about. Some of the names: coyote corner, bear canyon, badger flat, jack knife hill aka skid mark hill, rabbit corner, dead woman hill, camp site (from the olden days) etc.

Just got home and unloaded the groceries. It was a long day, 12 hours round trip, but we got a lot done. First stop was the bank. We had a CD come due, then we bought another 5 month CD it's only paying about 4.22%, still better than bank rates. Then we rented a second safe deposit box. Lunch was at a Mexican restaurant down south. Got groceries, feed, .410 and .357 mag ammo, miscellaneous stuff and ordered a Henry's boy size lever action .22 rifle for the grandsons birthday. On the way home we stopped for a slice of pizza in a town about 50 miles from home. Quite a bit of frozen fog in places, mostly in the valleys and along the river, clear sky's here at home.
