Glad you got some good sleep @snappy1 and glad your DH is doing good!! Thunderstorms are almost past me, dragging my feet getting outside to feed Buddy. I'll be late getting to my job, no problem though, already texted with the couple I'm cleaning for today!
We will be getting your rain tomorrow afternoon. Have a great day!

All is still quiet in the house except for the dog chewing on something...no one awake yet. Could be because we had such a busy day yesterday and stayed up way too lake watching Gremlins. Son and girlfriend arrived early yesterday...spent some time in the afternoon doing the touristy things in our town, and also doing the Christmas light drive thru and dinner out with ice cream last night! Son announced a new grandbaby for us in August, and a wedding on our farm following that! Exciting! What a surprise!
Glad your husband is doing well, Snappy!
Lots of cooking to do today; one present opening tonight and little granddaughter can't wait. Stockings to fill late tonight. Prime rib for dinner that I need to remember how to cook.

Hope he made it till today and you find some
I am out of bo se also, need to get some before ours are due ( not till March) , you have to get the injectable selenium from the vet here
I got up at 5 to take care of him this morning and he was gone. It appears he'd been gone for a few hours at least. I was told that he may have been stepped on or something else was wrong with him before I picked him up, but I didn't see any injury. His sibling got up and nursed right away and this guy just laid in a pile of placenta... Too cold is a real possibility, it's been raining nonstop for days. Yes, he did get the selenium, I went to two different places looking for the injectable B complex yesterday for him too. I know better, and I should have had the B complex on hand already. Still, I'm not sure he would have made it anyway.

So sorry, at least he got some love and TLC before passing!!

I GOT THE DAY OFF WITH PAY!! YIPPEE!! Just got a call from the couple I was going to work for, their company that was coming later today isn't coming, they are sick! Their electric is off down there from the storms and they are going back to bed!! Hubby is off too, I'll make us some breakfast in a bit. I'm having a second cup of coffee when I get in from feeding Buddy!!

@Morgan101 , Hubby put the news on this morning 🙄, and there was a story about an OWL that got in a house in Virginia!! I don't know how they got it out! Had a Wren get in my house once. It got in the master bathroom and I caught it in the window!😃

There have been several reports this year of people bringing wildlife into their homes in live Christmas trees. An owl and a racoon seemed to ge the msot press. It has happened to us many times. We leave the back door open when the dogs are doing their business in the back yard, and birds find their way in.

If they land low enough we have had some success covering them with a towel and taking them outside. Usually we leave the door open and shoo them in that direction. Knock on wood, we haven't had any casualties.

A lady Hubby works for USED to leave her back door open for her dog, until......a skunk came in!!! She too has had many birds get in her house!!😃

Got up, worked out, decided I wanted donuts, walked the mile and half to the donut place, purchased donuts, walked the mile and a half back, placed the donuts on the kitchen island as the ladies continued their deep slumber, got cleaned up, made some coffee, collected an eggnog cream filled donut, sat down in my chair, stuffed my face, turned on my internet access device and here I am. What will the day bring? Hard to say since everyone else here is still sleeping.

After a weekend visiting relations and partying with some bikers we used to know, I've caught a cold. My throat is raw, so I've a lovely Bonnie Tyler voice going on lol
Went to town with husband this morning to collect the last minute fresh veg, have all prepped now. The fires are cleaned out, place is as tidy as I need it to be, and now we are all just chilling, reading, doing jigsaws, etc. Its lovely. I've a jumper to sew, finished doing the gloves and cowls, but then feet up for the evening.

so sorry but these things happen , we have lost a few over the years , the B would have probably not helped him

I had one last year, one of 4, a big boy, that came out not breathing. I got the goo out of his mouth and dried him off ( mom was too busy, she had 3 others to dry off) and eventually he started breathing more normal but just laid there. I tube fed him, and he still just laid there. This was late at night, and I just put him in a pile of blankets and left him with the others, and guess what he was up and about and nursing in the morning! He is now one of our biggest goats. You never know how things turn out with these goats. At least you tried! Don't feel bad....

I did all I could. I'm not terribly upset about it... I've raised animals long enough that I know this is just part of the journey and I can't take it personally. The death gets easier over time...the killing when I have to do that does not.

Something to cheer you up maybe....we have trained our little bucks to jump on the back of the Ranger to get a ride from one end of the property where their goat house is to the other where their pasture is LOL. Too cute! One of them is too fat to jump up and husband has to lift him

Finished cleaning all the drawers and dividers for my 60 drawer small parts cabinet last night. Today the tedious work began. Got all my stranded wire connectors sorted by size and type along with lugs. Sorted the solid wire twist connectors then finished fuses for home, auto and systems. Working on switches and bulbs when I called it a day. Have to decide what I want stored in the bottom half of the cabinet.

Watching tv tonight.

Such a good project! I need to go through all of my drawers and add misc. parts to them. Tools and hardware are on my list of things to go through again this year.

We've had cats who would catch and bring birds into the house. I would throw a light cotton dishtowel over them when they were on a flatter surface.

Something like an owl would be a bigger challenge to get out.

Sorry about the little guy. All little critters go to "critter heaven." 😢
