I'll tell her that. She speaks Penn Deitsch pretty decently. She is waiting for the weather to clear up and go to the second floor of the old wood barn to play. Sound travels around here. The amish neighbors crack up. Marlon was just mentioning the time he was out feeding the cows and heard the national anthem blaring out the barn, a kid sitting out the open window on the second floor, dangling her legs. Ha. That time was the other granddaughter playing trumpet.
You know, we've seen some rumspringa kids blaring a boom box in a buggy. Look up: "Don't tell the Bishop" and you can see what they find funny

I started the morning doing KP as usual. Ate breakfast, and made a Hot Chocolate Poke Cake for the get together Saturday. Tried to clean the driveway a little better, but it was too cold. Made some progress, but everything is really frozen. Hoping the sun will soften things a little bit later in the afternoon when I will try again.

I know what a poke cake is, but what's a hot chocolate poke cake?

Went to an appointment this morning, cleaned the house up a little, got the textbook I need for one of my classes at the post office, grabbed a few groceries real quick then headed to the school to pick up a mob of high energy kids. They have minimum days on Fridays so I'll be keeping them from doing anything incredibly stupid this afternoon. Usually they're okay, but sometimes they aren't...

Getting ready to drive daughter to work. She’ll be there maybe two hours because they know the roads are going to freeze up this evening. I’ll hit the grocery again while I’m out and run back out to pick her up. Her tires and brakes on her car need work.

Here's the recipe. In this case after you poke the holes you pour in marshmallow. This is chocolate, on chocolate, on chocolate. You could seriously OD on chocolate with one piece.

Our TV dish is on the roof outside of our upstairs TV room. Ours is sloped enough that the snow usually slides off, if it doesn't I can climb out the window and brush it off. Our Starlink has a heater to melt the snow and ice.

ha! Our solar panel powered internet ( a big pole in the pasture with a fence around it) has a backup power of a self lighting propane attached to it
when the tank runs out we will have no internet until they come replace it ( unless the sun decides to appear, is it still there?)

I wonder what I should give them for delivering the mail if we have any ?

our Amish neighbors ( 2 girls, no older than 10) just pulled a sled up here delivering the mail!!! We didn't have any but the neighbor further up must have had a bunch of packages
I wonder what I should give them for delivering the mail if we have any ?

That sounds like a great excuse to bake some chocolate chip cookies...

Just got home from town a few minutes ago. As we were leaving town it started snowing. By the time we got home we had an inch or so.

They will love you for that! I always, always have candy in the big dish in the kitchen when the neighbor amish kids come over. The weirdest thing they love in our "english" house is the area in the kitchen where I have the water cooler, plastic cups, and the ice machine going with the scoop in it. They know how to help themself with it, even the three yr old Jarrod does. He knows that my husband has spice drops, too, and sits with him and they share a few. Last week when he was over, husband took out hot tamales candy and that did not go over so well. A pack of sugarless gum, too, is a huge special treat for his sisters.

Neighbor Marlon just came thru our driveway and out our back area to the path to their farm on an ATV pulling a big sled with two of his kids on it...Kylie and Dillon. What a crack up! They were laughing their heads off.
