Hubby and I got some yard work done and then split and stacked A LOT of wood! Didn't grill burgers, just pan fried a couple!! Finished LOTR, going to bed! Overall, a good day!!

Any day you finish with LOTR is a good day.

Thanks. My older brother is bringing Pops here in a little while. He's almost 90 and doesn't like to drive far at night any more so he needs a ride. Mom is being admitted to the hospital soon. Of course the docs know more about this stuff than me, but Mom has been in a wheelchair for about three years now and that can wreak havoc with a person's bowel movements. I know she's not regular at all and I'm guessing that if they fix that it'll help a lot.

Another bus story. I should get hazzard pay.

It's starting to get cold out. I see one of my kids standing in her driveway, but not an actual stop. I go down to get her because it's cold out, right? It's also O Dark 30. I pull up and stop and OMG (dang, I actually said that).

The teen age girl is wearing those tight form fitting stretchy pant thingys only they aren't tight or form fitting. They were down around her thighs and she wasn't wearing any underwear. I shut the interior lights off and met her out side the bus thinking something had happened to her. Nope, she was strung out and could care less about her state of undress. I have to let her on the bus so I pulled up her pants and held them in place until she got sat down. At the high school, her pants dropped again as she exited the bus and she walked straight into the school that way.
Can I sign this d_marsh?

I forgot that I had an appointment in town with the Amazon dominatrix today. I swear that she finds new ways to hurt me. But overall I think she's helping. I've been in a lot less pain and most nights I'm able to sleep 3 hours straight. Feel like a new man.
Got most everything put away and covered up today in preparation of the possible snow storm starting tomorrow. I'm seeing a bank of clouds coming over the mountains from the west.

Wow, Clem, that's a bus driver story. I talked to little granddaughter's bus driver this morning, told her she wasn't going in today, she felt bad last night, so don't bother driving this way. She texted me later and said 80 kids called in today from the middle school, out of a couple hundred in the school. Sick. Little granddaugher is feeling better this afternoon, was going to send her tomorrow, and bus driver texted this afternoon, and said 9 of the 12 grade schoolers she drives were out and she'd be wearing a mask tomorrow. Told her little granddaughter would be taking the day off tomorrow, too much sickness. We'd see her Monday!
So she can hang around for us old people's lunch here tomorrow with the cousins. I made a big pot of potato soup for it. Got the house fairly cleaned, in between calls about Uncle Melvin. Viewing is next Tuesday, burial, service, and lunch on Wednesday. Not sure if we're getting any out of towners to put up, but there's three guest rooms all ready now.

December, 2023 I bought my daughter an autographed University of Michigan Adam Fantilli hockey jersey for Christmas. I had to pay big bucks on Ebay for the authenticated jersey because it was impossible to buy one through UofM because he did not sign the contract allowing them to continue selling his jerseys.
December, 2024 I gave my daughter cash for Christmas.
Tonight she used that cash to buy tickets to the (yuck) Las Vegas Golden Knights hockey game, wore the autographed Michigan jersey, stood by the glass during warm ups holding a sign asking Blue Jacket player Adam Fantilli for a puck and after warm ups Adam tossed her an official Golden Knights Columbus Blue Jackets warm up puck.

Happy daughter, proud daddy.

At least something went right for me this month.

Pops and my brother got to the hospital and Mom got moved to her room. There's not much to report other than they'll try to keep her comfortable til morning and then run more tests. There's an MRI on the schedule to rule out any foreign objects in her system or other blockages that the CT scan could've missed.

Somehow the nursing home forgot to send her med list along with her other paperwork. Without that the ER staff couldn't proceed as quickly as they wanted. We're gonna raise a little hell with the staff at the home...

Reading about a school district in Kansas closing for the day because of sickness. Little granddaughter can help at home today and go in Monday, it's good it's Friday.

Help out at cafe. He will be closed for the next two months while his eye heals from surgery.
Come home and maybe try to do more putting together DH's new inversion table. That is not my idea of fun at all! I have to do the actual work as DH's hand tremors preclude him helping.

Today all the animals stay in, cold and wet, so we need to rotate them around, unless it stops and we will let the sheep out while cleaning
Taxes are sort of done, still waiting on one tax document before I can scan and send them
So not much to do today , not cleaning in this weather no point

It's a yeast recipe. The sourcream replaces the need for oil. I use a cup of it in each loaf. And water, honey, salt, bread flour, gluten, and yeast. It's a nice moist white bread with a good texture for sandwiches, too.

On my last laptop I was able to stop auto updates by saying I had a metered connection, have not found a way to stop the win 11 updates tho.

Up-graded my primary desktop computer, hooked-up sound system with sub-woofer and desktop volume control and got everything set-up how I want it. Sounds good, works good,... will play with a back-up PC today and up-grade it a bit. Gonna be a pleasant day listening to some bluesy music.
