The Princess came down with something so she has been in bed all day. I made her some chicken soup. I called Sunday night dinner because I don't want to expose the granddaughters. When I spoke to the DIL it turns out she was in the hospital with her mother. Her mother had another stroke type event. Both grandmothers sick at the same time is rough for the granddaughters.

Pray for the grandmothers would be appreciated.

Thank you

Ben
Prayers for the grandmothers and the whole family!!

Quark and Mt Trapper, how sweet you guys are. And Ben, too, the grandmas do need to get better.
Filled a cart at Ollies and Aldis, little granddaughter's mom visited and her friends came by and dropped off a gently used drum set for the garage girl band. The old man that had the son that owned it rode along, and he was very sweet...I gave him a couple dz eggs for his time and trouble and he told me a story about his dad growing 1000 tomato plants, they sold tomatoes to buy school clothes and shoes for the kids. Just heard that daughter that finished rehab is a mess again, her sis found her a mess. Prayers for the both of them please.

Finished cleaning the house! SO I have a question for our professional here Pearl: do you move the furniture to clean underneath? Just curious. I did today but was thinking that's too much work LOL but lots of dust and dog hair under it

Did most of the laundry , took Otto for a hike, collected starter wood on the way

Axel one of our livestock dogs is limping. I am not sure why, does not look like an injury. So another trip to the vet if it doesn't go away in a few days.

I move furniture on my jobs. If the client has no animals, I don't move it every time. Large furniture, no, unless they ask, most will pay more for that! At home...I need to move furniture because of the critter hair, but it doesn't get done much! I'm sick of cleaning by the time I get to my house!

I would think it would be more fun cleaning someone elses house

A few months ago I drained the radiator on the Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo, flushed it with the hose, filled it with hose water and added in a bottle of CLR to help clean out whatever needed to be cleaned. I ran it several times to heat everything up and get the coolant flowing. Today I drove it again to heat it up and used the hose hooked to the hot water to flush out everything again. Flushed it quite a while in several different directions, radiator cap, thermostat housing, and the hose from the thermostat housing. Plenty of clean (but hard) tap water through the system. After letting it cool a bit I drained out as much as I could then, with the hose still off the thermostat housing I used air to blow out as much water as I could. Using about 2.5 gallons of distilled water I topped it off again and drove it a bit to warm it up and let it circulate. I will let that sit a while and next time I get to it I will drain that out and top it off with new antifreeze.
That's about all I got in me today. I need to wash a few dishes then sit myself in the recliner for the rest of the day.

Well cleaning is not fun anyway. Maybe it'd be more interesting cleaning someone elses house, but absolutely not a hoarder house. I mean a normal house that needs normal cleaning. Boy, I've seen those youtubes where people come in and clean a horder's house, shoveling all the gunk out. I'd just burn the place down.
Well, geesh, our neighbor just burnt a house down. That was something. But it was an empty house.

I have had cars I needed to flush the heater core to get the junk out, not classic collectable cars but mainly because they would plug up from junk and not put out heat..

Yup had to have that done on my Honda. Had Honda do it as I'm to old for that crap and it's tough work anyway. Honda had to replace a purge value I think it was and did both the flush and replacement for that same cost.

WOW, I basically slept until 4 am!! Up a few times of course, but I wasn't wide awake at 2!! Off today, we are splitting the last big pile of firewood, will cut more soon! Got a list a mile long so I'll stay busy!!
I hear tell there’s a shed in that thar territory that is in need of cleanin’. 🫣🤭

Worked at the house some more. There wasn’t a lot for me to do inside so I worked on the long neglected shrubs out back. Not finished but getting better.

They’ll get a little haircut over the top and look kinda bonsai ish this year, but by next year should look good.
It was trying to spit snow at me. Then about the time I finished, the sun 🌞 came out.

Did you spit back?!!🤔 That sun in the first picture sure looks nice!!

I stopped taking one of my meds because I never should have taken it to begin with due to allergies. My doctor must not have known it was in the sulfa drug family but the pharmacy didn't catch it either and they should have because my allergies are listed in their system. I'll have to ask them to check to see if that is in there so they can flag it if I ever get prescribed something I shouldn't take. I've already asked them to flag euthyrox as something I can't take.

I was supposed to pick my friend up from the airport at 10:40pm but he let me know his flight was delayed so he left an hour late. Trying to find the airport in that area is such a royal pain because there are no street lights and its a convoluted path. I had to use GPS and it still took me into a parking lot. My friend had just walked out the doors as I pulled up and he used his phone's gps to guide us back out. Dropped him off a little before 1am. Strangely there was more traffic then than there was when I was driving up. I feel better knowing he's home safely.

Yesterday I got our tax return filed in hopes of getting our refund before SHTF. Wife and I discussed it and I noted that the last few sleeves of garlic came from outside the US, so she had me make a list of the things that we use that are imported, went shopping today and picked up what was on the list. Noticed that the price on things was already climbing.
I had taken today off to go out in the woods, but the wife's nurse called yesterday saying they couldn't make it today, so I'm switching gears. Instead I will be canning chicken stock and making some shepherd's pies for the freezer.
Last night for dinner we finished off the chicken noodle soup I made the other day, it turned out okay considering I had no idea what I was doing. I think now is a good time to exercise my prepper skills, I think that I would feel better knowing that I am ready for what may come....

Regular Monday job this morning! Going to be in the upper 80's!! Going to plant a lot of veggies in pots this year, so I will start getting those ready. And I may till my new garden area so I can add donkey manure in so it gets rained on next week. I won't plant anything until next month, but it's time to get ready!! I will also take advantage of the temporary warm (hot) weather and enjoy the pool float for a bit!!

We're supposed to have some nice weather today, too, so looking forward to that. Need to take husband into the bigger town for an eye appt, he's having vision problems again. We'll do a pharmacy pickup while there and load the truck up with feed at Atwoods. Still have tons of dry goods to repackage and some cans to date, and I didn't get to that yesterday, so that'll be the fill in aim for this week. Floors need doing again, we've been tracking in mud and so has the dog. Tuesday and Wednesday are funeral days, so this week will be busy.

I'm hearing there are still school districts around here closed due to illness (flu), and many nursing homes are on lockdown! Are your area schools back open @Amish Heart ??

today I am finishing the laundry , still have bed stuff to wash, plus figuring out how to do all the driving this week to go shopping, have tire put on Ranger rim, pick up prescription and so on
I really don't feel like doing any of it but needs to be done
