A few months ago I drained the radiator on the Dale Earnhardt Monte Carlo, flushed it with the hose, filled it with hose water and added in a bottle of CLR to help clean out whatever needed to be cleaned. I ran it several times to heat everything up and get the coolant flowing. Today I drove it again to heat it up and used the hose hooked to the hot water to flush out everything again. Flushed it quite a while in several different directions, radiator cap, thermostat housing, and the hose from the thermostat housing. Plenty of clean (but hard) tap water through the system. After letting it cool a bit I drained out as much as I could then, with the hose still off the thermostat housing I used air to blow out as much water as I could. Using about 2.5 gallons of distilled water I topped it off again and drove it a bit to warm it up and let it circulate. I will let that sit a while and next time I get to it I will drain that out and top it off with new antifreeze.
That's about all I got in me today. I need to wash a few dishes then sit myself in the recliner for the rest of the day.
