The town we shop from is about 10 miles away and we do get mileage. If it was farther, we wouldn't do it.
yeah, we are much further from any town. Occasionally I think about if I should get a job to make extra money but then I decide against it. First of all, I let my license expire and I doubt anyone would hire an engineer that hasn't done engineering in 10 years. So I have no idea what sort of job I would be able to get now. Then if it is not high paying , it would really not be worth it because we would probably have to buy a new vehicle to drive there every day. On top of that we are busy enough with animals and later farmers market. So we will just have to live on what we have . The good thing I just found out the standard deduction was raised ( cost of living raise)

I could do better with finds from Goodwill, craigslist, facebookmartket.... being in town has some advantages.
Items from Estate sales. Clothing (actually jeans mostly) it's easiest to ship! And I get a lot of items new with tags from thrift shops. I write drafts for items and take the photos. DH puts the photos on his laptop and then on each listing. Not real time consuming. We aren't very active now and haven't been for a couple of years. DH's health has been problematic.

Today, I will either walk or do a video.
Write more drafts for ebay.
Walk dogs in between rain events.
Nothing else on the list, but something will come up!
I didn't know selling clothes was worth the trouble, I mean the profit margin doesn't seem great. But.... they are easy enough to ship and once a person has it down to a science - it is easy enough and cheap enough.

So today: I'm doing the ebay thing... but just selling what I have. Maybe another day I'll buy items locally to sell there a make a few bucks.

Woke up to the school leaving a msg at 5 am no school, snow day. So went back to sleep. Looks like 3 to 4 inches out there and still snowing. It's 12 degrees out and looks like that's our high today, will be getting down to 0. Dog went out for a bit, and came in when his feet were froze and he jumps around. He'll be around the woodburner most of the day. Levi came in for coffee, still here, probably will stay for the day.
Animal chores will be a pain like Sonya's are today.

Went out to feed and no water. Plans have changed somewhat.
I hate that when that happens....broken or just frozen?
Hope you get it working

our animals are ok, the tracks between house and barn we shoveled yesterday are fine, but the rest of the road is icy again. Just told son if he plans on going anywhere tomorrow he better start shoveling

I think massive cold is worse than snow ( what we had in January)

I think the well pump generator wouldn't start. I'll check it out when we get home. I'll need to get my snow shoes out to get up to the pump house. I haven't got the road open up there yet.

Been dealing with issues with my laptop since K knocked it off the couch when he propped it on the arm. It is still under the protection plan so we had to drive to Dallas to take it to the Apple store for the repairs. It was done in less than a week and we had to go back up to pick it up. The good thing about picking it up we left early and went to a Trader Joe's we saw near by to kill time til the Apple store opened. While I was without my laptop I was using an older one I had gotten refurbished and I have been too lazy to reformat the repaired one. Well, I finally got off my lazy butt and reformatted it.

Aside from the computer issues I have been counting the days until we move. I know, we just got here to Texas back in April. Well, K's company has a job down in Austin and the site owner wants K and his crew on that job. (He is working a job for that owner now in Dallas so the owner is aware of K and the crew.). The good thing about this 3 hour away move would be a per diem. The whole family can move down there to save on double rent and we could save twice as much for our land purchase. We should be heading down in the summer.
Nice to see you Grimm.

That's how I started. I was just trying to make a little spending money. DH had just gotten sick and was in bad shape, but he got interested and then started shopping around. Once we knew the brand names that sell, it was easier and a few less mistakes.

I trust you know it's still a job... a likeable job? It can be. I'm sure you're doing well enough, or as well as you want. I probably will too.

Just going to work! Rainy day, doing some house cleaning here at home later! Might fool around and bake something!!
When you fool around.
You Bake?
Huh! Didn't know that???
I would tell the Irishman that but I would be afraid it would be more work for me.
The baking not the the fooling around.

Finished reading what's everybody doing today?
You all have been busy.
Got a call from someone in Houston Texas claiming to be Windows.
Telling me I haven't been on line in a month.
Huh!
I only have a desktop, work laptop, my personnel laptop and my phone.
But I haven't been on line for a month.
No, I have been on line, but I don't use your buggy filled programs.
Obiviously my new program isn't compatible with your bug filled program.
And I am keeping it.
It's cold, snowy.
So I am staying in.
Schools are closed in the area.

Spent the day on the road, food shopping and catching up with chores, which ended with buying two new tyres that I've been putting off getting. Bitterly cold here but no snow.
Seems incredibly quiet now my Americans have gone; I asked one what she enjoyed most on her visit. 'Walking around the supermarkets' she replied :D she couldn't get over the variety, and the cheaper prices of food. Now I know where to take tourists lol

Whahh.. whhah...whaaaa...kaboom...

Last night ..early evening I think it was about 0 degrees already..my unit was just a tad tattered on one end ..one board hit the frame going out the door n like a drunkard hitting it's shoulder it jerked a wee bit sideway, hit some ice n b4 I could hit the E stop..it toppled over on to the frozen iced driveway..
Fun times pickin up 2x10's ..couldn't been 16 footers..at least they were shorties..
I love my job..lol..build character and new swear words to create on the daily..
Cheers..
