Drinking coffee waiting on the artic front. It's 48° right now, there is a winter weather advisory starting at 10 am here, not for Ft. worth/Dallas. I briefly put the TV on to see what the weather people were saying, none of the DFW stations mentioned the WWA out here! 🙄 There is fog and drizzle right now. The temperature is supposed to drop so fast with the front that we will have freezing fog, drizzle, and freezing rain! I'm staying home!!😉 All the little critters are fed. Buddy will get his hay in his barn today!

Dad had his radiation mask molding yesterday. Long afternoon and found out how to care after treatment and what to look out for. First treatment is Monday at 11am. Different building/location then we’ve going to but easier to get too and closer. That’s also when we’ll set up future time for all the other treatments. They start at 7am so we’ll do early morning so I can still work my normal schedule for now.

Getting ready for work. I really want to run away and join the circus but, truthfully, I’m already there.

Will walk first.
Make fajitas for future dinners.
Take my friend to the next town up for a hearing test.
Stop at vet's and pick up thyroid pills for old dog.
Pick up a small Avon order.
Tractor Supply for friend to return a dog collar.
Do one load of laundry- maybe.

I was at the dealership for dash cam yesterday from 10:30 until 4:00. I did take a break for lunch with a friend. It works great!

Just surviving the outdoor chores today, and puttering around here in the farmhouse after. It's 0 degrees out, light wind, going down to negative 4. I'm going to wait a couple of hrs before doing the animal chores, tho. "English" neighbor from way down the road texted, and she's been in Florida for months....her son is at their house, just in from Japan, needs eggs. I told her that we have lots, but did she know how cold it is? I think our small Amish Grocery is closed for the day, she texted and said he'll be by soon. Nuts. Only got about 2 inches of snow so far.

No snow is expected today but quite a bit is forecast for tomorrow. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow down south. It's a 260 mile round trip. It's too late to cancel or reschedule, they would charge $50 cancelation fee for less than 48 hour notice. We'll just leave a couple hours earlier.

Ugh I hate snow driving. But it will be an adventure for you!

That's how it gets here, if you can get to the main hwy that goes to the other town, it usually is clear. But not always. I see on facebook people asking how many cars are in the ditch.
A couple years ago we drove up north to get the grand kids for Christmas. Out of the 800 mile round trip there was probably 600 miles of snow and ice on the road. On the way home we ran in to a blizzard for well over a hundred miles. The snow plows finally gave up trying to keep the road open and parked their plows across the road to block the highway. We were the only car on the road for hours. I drove around the plow and kept going. About 40 miles later there was another plow truck blocking the road, which I drove around it too.

I'm working on my stories again as much as possible while with the other hand I weave occult majicks. The line between these activities gets blurrier every day. I got a new MacBook pro and iPhone yesterday, spent a while setting it up. Later I will transfer a bunch of data from the old one to the mac. But before that, when I get home, I'm going after a cone of "Colorado Special." wink wink nudge nudge.

Getting some sun here too, had to dust-off my shades before going out to buy some goods. First and foremost was dog food and Milk Bones. Second: Beer and Whisky., I mean if I'm doing well enough to treat my dog (which is a necessity) why can't I treat myself? Rhetorical question. But actually... I paid some bills first. That's what is making this a good day.

Having off for my 3 day weekend (Presidents Day), lots more organizing and cleaning.

Here’s a couple of questions for those who participate in such activities: how often do you clean your oven? What do you use?
Turns out that I participate infrequently. I use essential oils and vinegar and other weird things because the commercial products scare me.
@sonya123 i hope your dog is just having some issues he can straighten out himself. Our dog isn’t eating breakfast, turns her nose up and walks away.
Yep, waiting for the cold front and wishing I could stay home until Friday.
I was planning on going to Dallas today but the weather forecast kept changing and I’m super glad and now reassured that was the correct choice, to not go.

Going to copy my easel board notes onto my remarkable so I can use the board for schematics for a weapon I'm designing that might go in my stories. I've had this same checklist on the wall for ages and there's no reason it can't be in my tablet journal.

Sitting inside watching it snow, 12 to 15 inches forcasted.

I'm watching freezing drizzle, keeping the woods stove fed!! Will head outside in a bit to feed and check on Buddy again, and feed the outside cats and make sure their heated cat mats are warm enough! I didn't do much today, nice day to be off! Hubby and I will take Bear for a woods walk in a while too!

Just saw Levi back over, snow shoveling our walkway. Ugh! It's still snowing and still 0 degrees. Decided when the weather warms a bit, that Levi and Little granddaughter have never tried to put out a fire with an extinguisher, and we have alot of them, so we think they'll need to practice with a small fire outside. Finished making the bird bread, time to make the potato salad and the cut fruit bowl.

It figures. I go to the doctor yesterday feeling good, and now I'm getting sick. I'm sitting next to the wood stove and just can't get warm. I only spent a few hours outside today too. Dang doctors.
It is the waiting room!

I hadn't been stick for 4 years but I drove a 90+ year old to a Dr appt. I waited in the car to avoid infection. A day or two latter she called because she was feel bad. Two days latter The Princess had the flu and two days latter I was jonesing for Nyquil.

Waiting rooms are an incubator for contagion.

Things should change.

Check in then return your car.
Call their cell phone when ready.

busy all day today, started at 7 taking care of the animals, no lambs yet. I don't know what they are waiting on they are so big they can barely fit through the barn door
then went to town to drop off eggs, 8 dz , people were happy . Went to library to drop off books and visit my friend ( she got eggs too) , then did shopping. Walmart eggs are now over $6 , I looked. Rest of the prices normal. Why is chicken still the same price and not $5 a pound? RK had some chicks, but I would not buy any in this weather. We would have to keep them in the kitchen LOL
Got back, cooked, took Otto for a walk . He did have some diareah but seems ok now, no more peeing on the floor.
Then we took care of the animals again, and put an extra layer of plastic on the window with the sheep just in case any lambs arrive overnight. But none of them looked like they were in labor.
Then brought in more firewood.
Now having a beer. Got a 6 pack of Stella at walmart on sale for $4 . That's unusual. I don't usually buy beer there
Ok then, next snowstorm to arrive overnight. I would rather have snow than that ice storm.

That's a good idea. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow. If I'm not feeling better in the morning I'll cancel it. I think my appointment is like 1 pm which means I'll have to leave home by 9 in the morning.

I have drive through a few blizzards . One time we went to Maine for Christmas ( skiing) and it snowed all the way from NJ to when we just couldn't even see the interstate anymore somewhere in Connecticut. I finally gave up after seeing too many vehicles in the ditch or whatever they were stuck in and we got a motel . Now I don't leave our property if there is a few inches of snow LOL unless it is an emergency and then we put chains on the truck to get off the mountain

In my case there were no hotels, I wouldn't have stopped anyway, and there were zero cars on the road for over 50 miles. We made it. I'm comfortable with my driving skills and the ability of our vehicle.

Got down to about 10 below last night. The sky was crystal clear and the stars were beautiful.
The woodstove gets hungry a lot. But it's 70 in here with the furnace only set to come on when the basement gets down to 58, and it's not been running very often. And hauling wood in makes me get out of my chair and move, so it's all good. I'm so thankful for how comfortable this house is. In the old place I'd be lucky to keep it around 62 with the furnace throwing money out the chimney and the curtains moving in the drafts.
Still windy. Was just out with the dog and the southern sky is extra dark and cloudy and I could hear the wind roaring in the trees on my fence line.
Started scrubbing all my seed trays so I can get them set up and get some seed planted.
Praying for those folks who have been hit with the severe weather and flooding. Haven't heard back from my cousins in Kentucky in a while.
