Well the day started off SUCKING! At 2am I woke up to what I thought was a crash. I thought that my S.F. might have fallen so I jump up to head into the next room. Got to about the middle of the foot of our bed & realized that it was thunder (& a lot more followed). So I turned to go back to bed & caught the board to our ramp (for the dogs) between my big toe & the next toe. Fell HARD on my knee & elbow & tore skin off of both & of course the toes weren't happy & bleeding. Went back to bed (wife didn't even wake up). Got up & realized that once AGAIN I hurt my right knee & right shoulder (that's my good shoulder). So I'm sore as all get out today. Then we had WIND kick up. They say there are gusts over 60mph & I believe it. I saved my plant sun shade (so far) with every clamp that I have. It's blowing so hard that the sun shade is actually loosening the stakes that it's attached to. In 30 minutes I need to go to the base & pick up my medications & I just saw that there is a dust storm on the way. Yippee skip what a day this is turning out to be.

Got DH's car this morning. It has a hemi. He likes it!

The wind is crazy @old tex! Power is out here, trees and branches down! The dust is thick, blocks the sun like it's cloudy!! Just got home a bit ago, need to go check on the donkey, he's hiding in his barn from the wind!!
I just came back from checking my sun screen. It's still there. I "thought" that the wind was over for about 30 seconds. Then it kicked up again. The funny part is that I have a lot of older trees in my yard. Yesterday I walked around & picked up sticks & branches from those trees so that our puppy wouldn't bring them in (& eat them). What a waste of time because I now have 20 times more sticks than I picked up.

Oh & my bird feeding for the winter has ended. The last of the food that I had out has "Gone With The Wind" & is probably in Arkansas now. In the end, from start to finish, I think that we put out somewhere around 1,250 lbs of bird seed.

Hope your toes are ok, and your shoulder and knee!! I am really surprised we haven't lost more trees!

Windstorms here, too, 40 mph. I was dumb and went into town and put gas in the truck, and didn't blow away. Picked up some stuff from the amish store and got the mail. The sky is pretty darn brown. Just sent little granddaughter out to get the eggs and close everyone up, and move some feed for tomorrow. It's supposed to be in the 20's tonight, so also having her bring in the flat of tomato plants. Greenhouse isn't heated.

2 more lambs, both boys. But we already seem to have a bottle baby. The one yesterday was really crying today and sucked down the bottle I made her. Mom doesn't let her nurse for more than a second and walks away and I checked she was pretty empty. I guess she does not have a ton of milk. She only had 1 last year and did fine.
Strom coming and wind warning
I'm tired

I’m sorry you are having to deal with all that, but it reminded me of something I heard or read years ago (as a little distraction for you): there was a truck hauling seed during a wind storm and ended up going off the road near a small town and tipped over. Of course the seeds blew “from here to kingdom come.” The driver was okay and they must have righted his truck etc. Nobody thought much else of it until spring when this little plant was growing everywhere: in cracks of sidewalks, roofs of old business buildings, medians, all over everything. It was canola seed that the driver was hauling. Not good stuff but was evidently beautiful while the little town was in bloom 😂

Looks like a bad week for toes. Mine send yours sympathy and empathy. Put your feet up and relax.

A little off topic but….there was a study done on the radio tower and observation deck of the Empire State Building and some of the debris that was carried on the wind was wheat chaff from Kansas.

Got 36 cabbages and collard plants set out along with 180 onions this morning. Spent the afternoon getting ready for the storms. Storm wasn't much, just lots of wind. Power is off now, checked the power company map, my whole county is without power.

No plans but tv til I shut off the genny and go to bed.

Windy again here, day two. I think it eases up by evening. I can see the picnic table top on the grass by the base of it.
Animal chores and an ultrasound appt today, and stopping in at Walmart after that to pick up a prescription. Little granddaughter has a two hr late start today, so she's still sleeping

11am.. Light breeze, high bright overcast, 28F wind chill of 2F... Only got about 3" of the 10" of snow predicted in this area..
Will get out later today after all is cleared up for a couple essential errands.. Out of cinnamon bread and bananas... Breakfast of champions... :woo hoo: 💪🍌🍞
