What's for dinner tonight?

I got Chinese takeout tonight. I ate about 1/3 of it and will have two more meals out of it. Still not the best stuff for a diet but I’m not giving up good food. Will eat some salmon this weekend to make up for it....
I've almost completely stopped eating sweets (cake, candy, cookies and donuts are on the NO list) but ice cream I cannot live without. Sometimes you just need good food. I believe that as long as you are smart about the amount you eat you'll be okay.

Agreed, and even sweets are ok, in moderation. Having a piece of cake is fine, just don’t eat the whole damned thing....
I am having a slice of wheat bread, toasted with a tiny bit of butter, some bean soup I made a year ago and froze, and a salad, all getting washed down with a cold beer right now. I’ve been doing chores most of the day now and decided it’s time to relax for the rest of it.

Left over chicken. I'm eating light tonight, but not by choice. Just finished feeding and watering the critters and put another ton of hay in the barn. It'll be a late night in the fur shed too.
I'd like to learn how to take a day off like Brent does.

Ok, I'm going to pick up some ice cream tomorrow. I have to go get another load of feed and medicine for the new calves anyway. At least this time of year the ice cream won't melt on the way home.

Only half a day, I just couldn’t get motivated for an early start yesterday. One thing about having animals though, it dosent matter if you’re tired or sick, you still need to take care of them.

I’ve been eating healthier for a while now and hadn’t had a burger for a month. Last night I used the leanest beef I could get and made a 3/4 lb masterpiece fully loaded with everything! I was in heaven.... it was accompanied by some home baked potato chips with spices but no salt, and of course a glass of red wine. I had to get back on track today and just finished a salad and the last of those homemade chips.

Red wine is actually important to drink with red meat as it helps digest the fat.
My opinion is red wine is good to drink with all foods! Lol. Seriously, all good things in moderation, but I drink a glass of it almost every night as a sedative to put me down. Once in a great while I’ll have a second glass but that’s rare for me nowadays. We won’t talk about what I did when younger..,

I had an awful night last night when my apartment flooded, then I got a text from a coworker this morning saying I needed to be at work early (less than 45 minutes after I woke up). And then it was a very crazy day at work and several people were out. So. After that all I wanted was junk food. We got pizza for lunch and I enjoyed every bite. But I don't really feel like eating anything for supper now because I had such a heavy lunch.

I’m thawing out some meatballs in a brown gravy right now. I’m craving spaghetti and may throw them in some spaghetti sauce or may just go for rice or mashed potatoes with some more gravy. I really love the food saver vacuum bags as they make for easy meals on nights you don’t want to cook. I probably have enough frozen meals to last three weeks at least, and loads of different meats that were bought in large quantities and divided up into usable portions before freezing. Reminds me that my freezer is starting to get older. I want to proactively replace it soon as the thought of having a whole load of meats go bad if it quit working on me is jus sad.

I keep waiting for my 35 year old Kenmore upright non-frost free freezer to die. But it's like the Energizer Bunny, it just keeps going and going and going... I'll probably get a moderately large chest freezer to replace it. We have a smaller chest freezer which replaced a very large chest freezer, and when it died we found food that had been forgotten decades ago waaaaaay down in the bottom, LOL. Not going to get one that big again.

Fried liver smothered in mushrooms and onions, mashed potatoes with white gravy, cottage cheese, asparagus/artichokes, with peach cobbler topped with Swiss cheese and Vanilla ice cream.

Wish they made quality appliances like that now. Nothing made today will last 35 yrs.... I’m Leary of getting a huge freezer to for the reason you listed. Not only forgotten food but if power is lost for a length of time loosing hundreds of lbs of food would suck. I have a mid size chest freezer and for two people it’s allready more than we need.

I used the instapot today to cook two pork tenderloins. I was slow to accept this new gadget and it collected dust for months, but now I’m really sold on this thing. The pork was the most tender and juicy I’ve ever made before and it was done in about 30 mins. It’s really easy to clean up afterwards too. I Made egg noodles and gravy with it too.

Also made a loaf of wheat bread with yogurt in it. Sad to say it was gross but the dogs seem to like it....

I went over to a friend's place today and we spent the afternoon playing board games. She's an older lady and retired and doesn't get out much anymore. We made salad with chicken in it for supper. Should be healthy, but she makes good sweet tea so I'm not sure my overall calorie intake was healthy today

Well I may soon make a lot of money. We are all on this Keto diet here and I miss my favorite foods. Since we cant have rice, I have been creating some new recipes. Today I made a culliflowe rice Jambalaya. It came out excellent, it taste and even looks like Jambalaya. Im going to tweek it a bit more, then make my millions off this Keto craze!

I put together a pot of my soon to be world famous chilli this morning and have it simmering on the wood stove. I start with ground pork, lean steak and bacon. Add a couple hand full of roasted jalapeno, habararo, chipotle and other peppers. Tomato sauce, another can of chili's, Worcestershire sauce, liqued smoke, tequila and other seasonings. Oh yeah, don't forget the beer. And never a bean will touch my chilli.
For some reason the wife won't let me make this inside when she's home. Something about the pepper fumes.

I got in late last night from vacation. Let’s just say I wasn’t counting calories while in Fla., unfortunately I’m back in the real world.

We ordered a pig out at a barbecue place. It’s a bit of everything for two people on a huge platter. So tonight was leftovers of that. Still have at least a couple more meals of it. I didn’t like the restaurants bbq sauce (the most important ingredient to me), so used some sweet baby rays origional on it. Good stuff.

We are going to make pizza's at home . Sausage , pepperoni , Canadian bacon , lots of cheese and sauce .
You ever notice that it costs about double to make your own pizza than to just buy it pre made? It’s good and is a fun night though, especially for the kids.
