A quarantine camp by any other name is still a quarantine camp. You are confined with limited freedom and stuck with eating what food they give you and not allowed any alcohol. Sure you might get a cushy bed, but you are still a prisoner. Even if your "quarantine camp" is a hotel.

There are now 32 hotels being used in Auckland, Hamilton, Rotorua, Wellington and Christchurch for Covid-19 quarantine and managed isolation.
They range from a 3-star backpacker-style accommodation to a 5-star luxury hotel on Auckland’s waterfront. Guests cannot take advantage of all of the hotel’s perks – they are barred from using the Finnish sauna or the rooftop bar. There is a blanket ban on returnees using gyms, pools and other facilities at all isolation hotels.
Most of the hotels are 4.5 or 5 stars – officials want isolation to be as comfortable as possible to encourage compliance. They must all meet strict criteria, including hygiene requirements, security, and providing three meals a day and exercise opportunities to guests.
It has not all been rosy for returnees in isolation. Many felt unfairly vilified for simply returning to their home country, often after suddenly abandoning their lives overseas or stressful, long-winded trips home. Public scrutiny was especially strong after four people escaped from hotels in the space of two weeks.
Returning New Zealanders have no say where they end up, and usually find out their hotel – or their destination city – when they get on a bus at the airport.
People who have tested negative for Covid-19 at Jet Park Hotel get a blue armband, which means they can move about more freely. Those still waiting on a test result must be escorted outside of their room. Alcohol is not available.
The availability and cost of beer and wine is one of the most hotly-debated topics among those in isolation.
More than 30,000 people have now been through managed isolation or quarantine since New Zealand went into lockdown.

Ok, before I get to the mis representation of the Isolation, here's a bit of a picture.
New Zealand has a very left leaning Socialist Prime Minister. She is the lefts poster child!
Covid-19; Australia & New Zealand jumped on this very quickly. Yes, we have a lot of restrictions, but, we have one of the lowest infection and death rates.
We also don't have a Constitution like the US-we still consider ourselves free, and the majority of people ( I'm guessing 95% ) are ok with our restrictions. Now, we are slowly, but surely, returning to restriction free living.
1. There are no quarantine camps in NZ ( or Aus ). To liken mandatory quarantine to a camp is ridiculous. My dad and his parents were in a German camp - I know if he had the choice, he would take quarantine over a Nazi camp any day. It's 14 days!! If you are a local, you get to stay at home for 14 days. The hotels are for those flying in from overseas. You have a choice, don't fly to NZ, or spend 14 days in a hotel. After the 14 days, if you are covid free - guess what?? You go home!!!
2. Government Mandated Education Camps - nice way of saying schools. Yes, same in Oz, people were asked to work from home, and home school kids. China has Government Mandated Education Camps - where is that outcry? No one was "forced" to go to school - here in Aus we had the choice, keep the kids at school, or send them. Not all schools are Govt run either, we do have a whole swag of private religious/secular schools. I don't recall kids being forced to these re-education camps.
3. The NZ Govt is not fascist - it's left leaning Socialist. I could argue they are the same, but to compare NZ to Fascist Germany is nothing but media attention grabbing grubby media bias.
The difference is this - a US reporter ( right leaning ) looks at NZ through their own biases and leaning - and "sees" something wrong with what is happening, and then comes out the reporting that is biased to their own world view. They see quarantine as something the Nazis would force you to do, so they make this assumption, which is wrong. But in the reporters eyes, they are seeing the truth, and those who don't see this 'truth' are blind and deceived. I get that, and yes, both left and right are guilty, as am I. Both sides are guilty of twisting truth to fit with their bias.
My view on the lockdowns - our Govt is conservative ( right leaning ). They imposed lockdowns on a Federal and State level. And yes, if you refused to go into quarantine, you were forced into it. Do I have a problem with that? No I don't - why allow someone to roam free in society who could be a super spreader.
But many in the US view see this as draconian and taking away one's rights, an infringement of your liberty and Constitutional rights.
Am I right? Am I wrong? Are you right? Or are you wrong?

A very good synopses of what's going on. It seems to me your well on your way to allowing a totolitarian government in New Zealand and dancing with it in Australia. Your already Justifing there totolitarian actions. The left's plan to take over and have the people ask for it is well underway.

I don’t particularly trust our govt about things. They are mostly blood sucking lawyers and all.... I do trust our medical doctors and scientists though, at least a lot more than the govt anyways. Vaccines are based on science, not party affiliation. I also know that there are some risks with vaccines. I just know that the risk from the virus is a lot greater than the risk from the vaccine. If I was twenty something and healthy I might consider taking my own chances, but as it stands I’m all in.

well think of it this way if say 75% of the people take it why should I,,,I rarely get sick anyways in fact since I lost my job other than sinus headaches I have not had a cold or flu or anything else for that fact,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,I credit this to selective human contact
Voluntary distancing and selective warnings to at risk people is all that should be necessary. If you have lung weakness or advanced age, keep your butt at home, don't expect everyone else to lose their jobs over your medical condition. This is all just about conditioning the masses to accept centralized control and NOTHING else.
As far as "scientists", it is not required that you qualify for sainthood to join the ranks. Wave a $250,000 grant in their face to prove that grass is blue and watch how many papers are published that attest to that fact. Dishonesty and greed are common place in ALL professions. This is the globalists greatest weapon, the incredibly low level of personal honor that exists in today's populace

I can tell you about that world because I was part of it.
You get tenure by getting publications and grants. Research universities make more money from "administrative costs" in the grants than they do from tuition. There is intense pressure to "publish or perish.". This alone compromises most people in academia because if you don't publish things that fit the narrative du jour, you don't get grants. You don't get grants, you don't make tenure. You don't make tenure and you are gone in five years because if they let you stay longer you will get tenure automatically, and they make sure that NEVER happens.
I have not forgotten how much the Gov't and the inventors of ASBESTHOS were SOOOOO happy to tell us how GREAT this new and SAFE material is to help prevent damage in fires....

I have heard zero about this. We've all heard with resounding evidence that natural immunity only lasts a few months at most. So how do these vaccines keep your protection from fading? These vaccines have only been tested for a couple/few months at most, any data from them?
A second question: if getting the vaccine is ok with you, how often are you willing to get it again? Annual? Quarterly?

Concerning the corona vaccination there is a very good report here, also concerning the negative consequences of this stuff. Bill Gates and Sleeping Jo are also critically mentioned here, there is as much unexplored about these vaccines as about Corona itself, I consider the risk of permanent damage to the body with such a vaccine higher than if I would get the Corona virus myself. I don't want to say that the Corona virus is harmless, but if you use a virtually untested vaccine with this new technology in a mass vaccination, there will be a lot of people who will be harmed. The sad thing will be, that it will be covered up and that these people will have other problems that lead to this.

I have read that the Pfizer vaccine is only good for a month, and that the others are only good for 6 months, does that mean we need to take 2 every year?
personally speaking I think I'm better off staying home and just avoiding other people and wearing a mask and socially distancing when I have to go out.

I believe people should have the right to not take the vaccine. What I think is the most sad here though is when people preach against something while not having any medical knowledge, and only their suspicion. I don’t care about the individual with their opinion, I think it’s dangerous because they are swaying others that likely would have used common sense and gotten the best treatment or prevention available. I knew a guy that had a form of leukemia. It was a type that had a really high chance of being cured. He instead decided to treat it himself holistically with information he read online, using ozone treatments. He found article after article that showed how this miracle cured 90% of all the diseases out there. There was even the same unsubstantiated claims about the drug companies knowing about it but since they couldn’t profit from it they discredited it. Seems very similar to Religars bleach cure here. Well, regardless of opinions, the guy died from leukemia.
Science isn’t perfect and it’s ever evolving. But it is getting better each year. Vaccines have been around long enough that most of the risks have been mitigated. I didn’t say all, but most. Dont listen to all the superstitious crap from the dark ages. If 99% of all the trained doctors agree that vaccines work and save many lives, why would you believe someone’s uneducated opinion that you read online?

thats the point I think, we dont know enough about these vaccines to determine if they are safe, they have been rushed through, many of these take 10 years to be fully tested and licenced and they have been done in as many months, which makes me really suspicious.
I agree that they were expedited, and that is a little worrying. I also know that they didn’t start from scratch here but built upon the research from existing vaccines that did pass the years of safety trials. Luckily they have been tested on tens of thousands at least with no serious side affects so far. Nothing is 100% safe or perfect. I kind of look at this like I do a game of poker. It’s all about the odds. While there’s no guarantee I can precisely predict my next cards, I can use statistics to come out ahead most of the time. And I do generally well at the game.

Playing devil's advocate for a minute...
From a cold epidemiological standpoint, the vaccine only needs to lower the R0 factor to below one...even if it kills a few people. The trade off is more people living that would have died, than people dying from the vaccine.
Put that in your pipe and smoke it a few minutes...
