Gun owners in San Jose, California, will soon face a yearly tax and be required to carry additional insurance after their city council voted unanimously Tuesday evening to impose the new measures.

The forthcoming fee for gun ownership in the city has not yet been determined, but officials said that anyone found to be in noncompliance will have their weapons confiscated.

The city council's aim is to try to recoup the cost of responding to gun incidents such as shootings and deaths. According to the Pacific Council on Research and Evaluation, which studied the issue and sent a representative to testify before the panel, gun-related incidents cost the city roughly $63 million every year in the way of paying for police officers, medics and other expenses, The San Francisco Chronicle reported.

My boat looks like it was sunk and wrecked, as it's being redone from sinking.

My son got the boat and sold it To his cousin. My Ex got the weapons and probably doesn’t remember she had a CCW on one from 30 yrs ago.

My recent purchases have be throwaway ones for them to come confiscate.

Yes we do have jury trial here too. If i protect my family then all my friends and neighbours will be proud of me and accept it, this is sure. Well, proably the police officer will understand it. But by law they need to open an court proceedings because i used an weapon outside an shooting range. Same if i only used an knife or just an wooden peg. Some fees are normal, it may even can bring you some time in prison. Worse it goes if i hurt the intruder. It will you bring very high restrictions from higher payments and jail, plus you have to pay healing costs from the intruder maybe even compensation for damages.
The law says it's the police job to protect my family, home and myself from such things. Means in any case i have to call the police (if they are done with collecting speeding money the may are coming). By law only people with an gov license own a weapon. A friend of me works for our kind of ATF - he won't stop laughing as i asked him if it's seriously meant...
Of course we don't feel safer knowing only criminals having guns. It's the result of an "human protecting politcy" of the lefts here. If you would ask how it could happen - just spreaded enough panic and people (mostly city folks) agreed.
