:) Hi everybody!

Is everyone ready for the cold weather? Ready or not...
I put on two pairs of pants yesterday and today, a long sleeve t-shirt, a pull over fleece and a zippered fleece. I was sweating. Yes, it was 22 degrees, but just a little moving around worked up a sweat. I have some thinner knit pants (several pairs) that I bought years ago at Walmart. They make a great first layer, then I put on a pair of jeans. My legs don't get cold. Then the wool socks and I am good to go.

No won't be seeing the idiot male.
It's deer season.

I got out my layering stuff yesterday. I have those fleece lined leggings I wear under my skirts. Keeps my legs warm. Started remembering to bring my muck boots in from the back porch in the morning to warm up before feeding the animals. It's pretty cold to stick your feet in them in the morning to feed the animals. Also brought in a bucket and a couple more empty gallon containers to fill with hot water from the kitchen to deice the waterers in the morning. Need to get our son to help me relocate the duck run door. It's at a low area, and when we change the water in their wading pools, it pools right by the door. So yesterday, the door wouldn't open till I threw hot water on the ground because it froze shut. I saw this one coming, but it'll be a bear to relocate because we have a wire roof on the run. I think this morning it's about 3 degrees warmer than yesterday morning, but that's not saying much.

The dog parks shut their water off in the fall, so then the water is carried in, jug by jug by dog park users (or not, some never notice or think of it). There is an accumulation of empty jugs that get piled in a corner, with full jugs setting by the drinking bowl. I try to take two jugs every day, because so many others don't. It is especially important for the ridgeback to have ready access to drinking water because of all of the medication she takes for her liver issues. She takes some of the same meds that humans take.

I wasn't sure if you had got the email or just the pm. Glad the volcano didn't get you. Now watch out for that water!! Need to go to the desert, no stray water here.
Sorry, just the PM. I can't access my old email account. I had to open a new one and I'm slowly getting email addresses replaced.

I keep up with Jim (Phideaux) a little bit. He checks in on the forum quite regularly, but he's busy and he doesnt post much. I do think that if anything bad has happened to Gumpy, Jim would let us know.

As for some of the others y'all have mentioned, DoubleR had too many real life responsibilities to keep up with the forum. Not sure if she checks in on us or not. Buildit sort of left the forum, as best as I understand it. Nothing bad, just sort of moved on.

There are times a member goes missing, sometimes just for short periods and sometimes for longer periods. There are man reasons for this but sometimes it is for health or other family emergencies. I just noticed that Squirtgunsquirter has not posted since last Wednesday, so I figured this would be a way to bring out the subject of absent members.

So if anybody knows or can contact SGS, and let us all know if he is doing well, I would be grateful. Maybe all my news articles have driven him into seclusion. I do think we need to keep a watchful eye out for our members.
