I have had issues with kidney stones the past two weeks and with bumping around in a school bus on rough logging roads during spring break up, it's best I keep my new found crankiness to myself so I am just lurking for awhile.
Glad to hear your still lurking. Hope you get better soon!

No worries, I will help share your crankiness. A burden shared is a burden halved.

I wonder why Hiwall hasn't posted his stories here like he is on another message board?
He hasn't been here since july of last year.

Huh 🤔
I contacted him at one point. He said he's still doing his thing but was trying to lessen his online time. Said he had no beef with anyone here or anything like that.

My phone and internet & e-mail are often out for up to (3) Three months. Service super sucks.
Yikes! That's really super sucky. Aren't you among people now at least, not completely on your own as in years past? I hope you do have ways to communicate when all the normal electronic means are out for you.

I am leaving Soldotna, Alaska and returning to my cabin. Three days ago, there was still over two feet of snow on the ground at the cabin. Records all around for winter snowfall. Likely around 18 to 19 feet of snow this past winter at my cabin. Anchorage got a new record snow fall just shy of 11 feet this winter. I will "NEVER EVER" winter at my cabin.......NEVER..!!!!

As Inspector Callahan (Dirty Harry) told the scumbag, "A man has got to know his limitations". I found mine November 18, 2023.

Do you get to go home for a while? You’ll be missed but thanks for letting us know and I hope things are in better condition than you expect.

...... Still no Woody🙁
Hi and thank you for reaching out!

Yeah, I have been MIA for a while now. How long I have no idea, things got complicated really fast and priorities changed rapidly.

Had a lot going on in life. Started with home hospice and ended with me moving to Fort Pierce, Florida. All that meant A LOT of facetime on the computer! More than I would have liked, but was necessary to coordinate with family, doctors, banks, lawyers, contacting folks, real estate agents, travel…

Information overload.

All of it was just more than I had in me at this stage of my life. The “Golden Years” had a lot of tarnish on them lately. I did what was necessary on the computer but found no enjoyment in doing anything else. The Hospice took up all my time, then funeral and looking to sell our home and find a new location to move to. And lawyers. I would highly recommend everyone takes a fresh look at their wills. Physically take it to a lawyer and spend the money to have it redone so you have a recent, clear, concise will. List ALL the online accounts you have AND the passwords. Passwords to your phone, computer, games, bank… In this day and age, it is necessary information for anyone dealing with your affairs.

A tip there: If you have a trusted friend, spouse or family, give them POA (Power or Attorney) with the Lawyer when you redo your will. They can step right in without losing a beat and you will make their lives a whole lot easier when dealing with your affairs. Even if you are just incapacitated, there is now a clear, LEGAL chain of command.

I avoid the computer as much as possible anymore.

Well… Not all true there. I check the weather and tide forecasts every morning before planning my day out and still have lingering affairs to deal with. I have been trying to recharge. I am slowly getting there, but it seems the older I get, the longer the road gets. Starting a new life isn’t as easy as when I was a young buck! HaHaHa!

Alright, enough face time spent for now. Tide just started going out so I am going to hit the inlet jetty and see what I will have for dinner: Hot dogs or snapper. If anyone is in the Treasure Coast area, drop me a PM and we can wet a line.

Thank you again for reaching out!

Woodrow.

It's so nice to hear from you Woody. I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like it was a horrible roller coaster ride. BIG cyber hugs to you. If I lived in your area, I'd take you out to lunch.

I hope you keep checking in here with your cyber family. Here's hoping things start moving in a more positive direction for you.

Has anybody talked to Curmudgeons family ?
I've tried to keep in contact with Bruce's wife to let her know he is sorely missed, and to please let us know if we could help her in any way possible. She is one "squared away" lady.
