Yeah, I too am a bit disappointed. I walked extra long yesterday (5 miles) in anticipation for meeting friends at a fancy restaurant for dinner last night. Yeah, I had a glass of fine wine and got a small prime rib, with only vegetables and no starch, but it really flipped my daily loss upside down. The restaurant has been around for almost 180 years, and a famous stagecoach stop, and a destination for all the stars that traveled "Route 66", so I have to accept a blip in my weight loss journey.

I would be totally safe from weight gain at that restaurants LOL, looked at the menu and saw shrimp, oysters, prime rib ( bloody meat I wouldn't eat) mushrooms, burgers
PASS, lol, I would rather have my homemade pizza

Did see a new restaurant in town the other day , Mongolian bbq. That was my absolute favorite restaurant in Orlando until it closed. it was one of those places you could pick your raw food , put it on a plate and they cooked it for you on this giant grill, plus they had regular all you can eat buffet items but mostly I liked the bbq stuff

maybe that is my problem I ordered them online, straight from China probably, $12 I guess that's what I get LOL
I sent them back, will look for those pants at TSP next time we go there
I used to wear jeans everyday, but I hate that they have introduced the elastic in them. They just don't hold up and tend to get streached out in certain places. For me, it's in the butt, which I do bend down often throught my day on the bottom well and also in the front right below my pocket area. Going into these cargos, no problem at all. This is what I wear everyday now, unless I don't have a clean pair. I got 2 more size 6 coming for Christmas.

week 3 day 2

no weight gain from the pizza LOL
I figured out it's not all that many calories, about 750 for my 2 slices ( has low fat mozerella, pepperoni and veggies on it oh and black olives)
and the good thing about pizza it is VERY filling, I was not hungry in the evening at all just had an apple

today I am going to make sweet and sour red cabbage, sausage and smashed potatoes
and soup , probably rice soup today

I saw a few things I would have liked off that menu.

week 3 day 3

was bad last night, son spotted the eggnog I got a while ago, and bugged me to have some before the holidays. So we all did, half the bottle is now gone and I probably gained a pound. Another total calorie bomb there, Evan Williams with 3 different types of alcohol in it

So oh well

today I will make some Korean rice noodle dish with beef, and spinach on the side
wonton soup again

NOTHING else besides some fruit , have to make up for the eggnog
I think alcohol is really bad when trying to lose weight, it's a must go but we will finish that bottle of eggnog
I will also bake some cookies this week, or family will riot LOL , but can't make my favorite ones because i waited too long to order some of the ingredients ( gerrman ginger bread cookies)

A friend gave me an Even Williams drink, I did not care for it.
I will stay with #7 or Fire Ball, if & when I have a cheat day, only got ten pounds to go.
I can wear my old jeans again, that feels good.

I don't eat breakfast on days I go to work. When I get home a little after 12:30 pm, I am hungry. I needed to get a couple restraunt gift cards for Mom and her Husbands so took my Hunny out for lunch. I got their Special today which was a Parmesan Crusted Chicken, which has sauteed onions, mushrooms, and tomatoes with a cream sauce served over pasta. I ate the chicken and a couple bites of the pasta. Think I will boil up some shrimp with some "Slap You're Mama" seasoning. One meal and I am good until I get home from work tomorrow. If I need a little extra, it will be a salad.

I don't believe plant and nuts have milk. But I do eat plants and nuts.
Then where does Almond milk come from? Here you go. . . plant based. Big difference. It is not actual milk.

Almond milk is a plant-based beverage made from finely ground almonds and water.02 It is naturally dairy- and lactose-free, making it a good option for those avoiding dairy.2 Almond milk has an indulgent, creamy texture and a delicate nutty flavor.0 To make almond milk, soak almonds in water overnight or for up to two days. Drain and rinse the beans from their soaking water and grind them with fresh water. The resulting liquid, drained from the almond meal, is almond milk.1 Almond milk dates back to 13th-century Baghdad, where people found it a useful alternative to animal milk because almonds were plentiful, and almond milk didn't spoil in the heat as quickly as animal milk did.

@sonya123 good on ya on the laps..must be tough swimming in creek this time of year...you have a pool out in the country?...lol

i am up to 40 sit ups at once now..so gaining on it myself..i like doing sets of 50 at a time. i will have to work on getting next set of 50 slowly i am sure. ways off to drop down and do 300 in sets of 50 though. they say it makes ya waist slimmer....all it ever done was make my waist bigger...my belly fat never went away...lol..oh well...core strength is the goal.

i have managed to get damaged leg to bend more too. its a slow process because dont want to hurt it in anyway..horsepitals are a no go for my foreseeable future with the crazy crap going on..besides once they get you hooked going they dont want to release you.

Agree, there Elkhound. If you can stretch that leg and make strength progress at home, that is the best. I was just thinking that my husband is a chemical...his med list is huge. Things are added, never taken away. Anyway, I will get serious in 2024 when I'm home about limiting calories and no processed food. Eating home food always makes me feel better, this Sisco food is the pits. But I do have some bananas and mandarins here with me for breakfast later, that'll be good.

YAY for both Sonya and you!! And yes, core strength is it!!

Made a veggie stir fry last night cauliflower, broccoli. mushrooms. onions, carrot, bell pepper, red cabbage, and asparagus). I lightly stir fry the veggies so they are still slightly crisp. Then, I wrap them in a whole-grain tortilla with a squirt of hoisin sauce and crushed peanuts. It's really yummy.

I hope I get a wok for Christmas. :)

And, for those of you who I off-ended by using the term, "plant milk" I changed it to "plant-based liquid beverage." Is that better? LOL

(I wonder when they - whoever "they" are - are going to change the name of milkweed plant to be more politically-correct?)

There do seem to be several who get offended by words in common use that do not match a rigid preconceived definition. And the current word we are discussing is not the only word being called into question.

What galaxy do we live in? Oh I forgot - we aren't allowed to call it that, even though that's its name, because it technically is not that.

🤔

milk
[milk]

NOUN
  1. an opaque white fluid rich in fat and protein, secreted by female mammals for the nourishment of their young:
"a healthy mother will produce enough milk for her baby"

VERB
  1. draw milk from (a cow or other animal), either by hand or mechanically:
"two hours later he was up again to milk the cows" · "I had to start the milking"

this fake meat craze too..its not meat....meat substitute is called beans...i dont need anyone inventing fake blood etc. so i can try and trick my brain and give them extra money...lol....i will eat and drink things the way they came mostly...meat,veg and milk from a critter.

fake meat has been pulled in most places here...livestock country dont ya know.

I think you have better apologize to the cows and goats out there :)

Okay, y'all call things what you will, but I am currently eating a carrot rather than the scads of tempting chocolate that surrounds me. I did essentially an 18 hr. fast and am trying to reign it in a little today. Also, did a very short run when I got home last night. It was dark so not long at all but felt good to get my heart rate up even if only for a quick minute. Proud forum-friend moment for you I know - you can say it ;) 😂

there is a huge indoor aquatic center about an hour from here
2 laps is 50 meters
look yall she said meters....you and that fancy foreign highfalutin talk....lol
