I took Otto for a short hike up the mountain yesterday and it started pouring

Hiked this afternoon...went to a harder place that requires more mind to foot placement thought because of roots and such in trail and it being over all harder trail...i pushed it real hard just to see....my coordination was very satisfying...on way back to truck it was hot and humid so i started pouring sweat last part of hike and it was dripping off my sweatband....got back to truck and could tell i done trail but was fine...finished my water bottle off just to make sure no cramps driving home.

very satisfied right now with progress.

@MoBookworm1957 did you find a BD tutorial online or what? Please give details. Also, how did new Mo happen? I blinked and missed it!!
A few years ago Belly Dancing was poplar as Zuma,Billy Banks Boot Camp and I had reach a point where I wasn't loosing anymore weight. And I was getting frustrated. I had lost so much weight and inches. So I ordered it off Beach Bodies.com it was worth a shot. So several of military women and I all go to the same primary care doctor.
He suggested we try this program again. My Blood Pressure was dangerously high if it didn't come down I could possibly die sooner rather later in life. And I was tired of being tired all the time. So I decided to do something just for me for a change.Am I being selfish? Probably. But once in my life I need to put myself first. And there was the Irishman too.
I want a life with him. If I wasn't happy with me how could he be happy with me? So something had to change. I had to change first. One small baby step at a time. One of the hardest things to change is my outlook on my life. I had to find a positive attitude. My Irishman helps with that everyday. He's my friend, my buddy,my rock. Now I have a reason to get up. Laughter comes more frequently. So do giggles. I'm not as depressed. He was there when I was sick with chemo and radiation treatments, He was there when my hair fell out. My Irishman has seen me at my worst while sick. Now I want him to see at my best. I want him to be proud of me as a woman. Not one of the guys. So once a month we go shopping so I have more woman like clothing. I will probably never be completely lady like(girly girl) I hope this answers your questions.

Just to touch on the blood pressure, I was considered "elevated blood pressure" during my physicals with an average of 141/79. After walking for 15 months, my average BP s now 119/64. I am still at 210-213 pounds, but all the doctors said this is what my body is comfortable with.

Stay healthy everyone, inside and outside!

Since my episode with my heart, the dr have me on meds to slow my heart rate and BP to give me heart a chance to heal as much as it can. My numbers this morning was 97/73, 79. BP numbers are doing pretty good. But the heart rate isn't dropping nearly what they want. They are hoping for 50s, if that isn't making me dizzy

50's seems low!?

I know a "Sleep Number" bed is not an official monitor, but my average heart rate is 55-56 BPM while sleeping. My S/O only walks every other day, and her average heart rate is 64-65 BPM. I do know males and females pump blood at different rates, but I found it interesting data.

My blood pressure a few weeks ago was 297/197.
Now it's 250/ 150 and the weight is coming off.
My weight is still too much for my frame.
But a pound or two a week coming off is what the doctor is comfortable with.
So belly dancing is helping and I am having fun too.
And I am dang proud of me.
And my Irishman is proud of me.

running out of daylight today...but i wanted to hike a bit...so hot footed it right at dark to trail and done it...was rewarded with 5 deer and flock of geese....highlight was a young piebald colored 5 or 6 point basket buck.

days are getting shorter....deer have now turned from summer reddish to fall/winter brown coat....will have to try harder to get hikes in going forward....got to get back to truck by dark or a turn into and ugly fat man....

week 14 day 6 and 7

been busy

made Sushi yesterday plus dumplings and miso soup
day before I made pesto pasta

today meat pies , they are a lot of work but that is what daughter wants me to make since she has no time in her life to make them
@sonya123 do you mind sharing your miso soup recipe?

@elkhound that sounds like a good hike!

Got to go early and done a hike...seen a dozen plus deer....it was fantastic.i sat in meadow for awhile soaking it all in and a young fawn about 75#...this years deer...she ducked her head down trying to fake me out like they do...i dipped my head back and she done it back to me....we went on like that a dozen times i bet...made my insides happy...in words of a friend of mine got my soul shine on in the nature.

week 15 day 2

really did not cook yesterday and had leftover soup , a smoothie and a sandwich, but today I am cooking. Kimchi stew with ground pork, tofu and rice

Have not weight myself in a few weeks, afraid too, probably went up from all the baking I did while daughter was here. She doesn't have much time to cook or bake anything so she asks for stuff she likes when here which is fine. But we ALL eat it. Granddaughter likes my bread and crabapple jelly

I wished I could still exercise the way I used to but oh well, my accident cut that out completely. My favorite was step aerobics, did it at the gym for probably more than 20 years twice a week, and had a few dvds at home and a step.
this is one of the dvds I had:

Not sure if you could do that but when I did this regularly I was never overweight , pretty much looked like the women in the video. Now, I have given up, I am old , overweight, with bad feet and have enough physical labor on the farm to keep from totally getting out of shape

pouring rain...a real frog strangler....i went to hike.....i let my brain win...i failed and didnt walk....raining hard enough windshield wipers could hardly keep up....feel like such a wuss now...failure today....may send myself to bed without supper even....how do you spell loser...ELKHOUND....thats how....shame of it all.

Sometimes you gotta know when to elect to hold off. No harm no foul. Nothin to beat yourself up over
emergency weather alert was going off with flash flood warnings....in a couple minutes it came back on and gave a tornado warning with rotation on radar.

no point in being miserable hiking, that doesn't make you a loser. I wouldn't go hike in the pouring rain either . Maybe do some indoor exercising
