:( I could not endure fighting dogs

To spay and neuter dogs helps a lot!
Please stop. These dogs were best friends. They were playing. My dogs are all spayed and neutered and know how to live as a pack. I am alpha and there is no fighting.

Livi, playing with Capone when he was a pup.

Why do dogs play fight?

Play fighting is a natural behaviour deeply rooted in your dog's ancestral instincts and social dynamics. By engaging in playful fighting with one another, dogs learn important lessons that shape their social skills, teaching them how to interact with their fellow canines in a positive and non-threatening manner.

Play fighting allows your dog to practice various body language cues, such as play bows, bared teeth, and gentle nips, which help establish boundaries and maintain harmony during social interactions.

Furthermore, apart from socialisation, play fighting is a form of exercise and mental stimulation for your dog. It provides an outlet for your dog to burn off excess energy and exercises their brain as they constantly assess their opponent's moves, anticipate actions and adjust their strategies accordingly. This helps keep your dog physically fit and mentally engaged.

Is it ok for dogs to play fight?

Yes, it is okay for dogs to fight in play as long as certain conditions are met and the play remains healthy and non-aggressive. Play fighting is a natural and instinctive behaviour for dogs, and it serves several important purposes in their development and well-being.

When Liv was a pup, she used to get in the chicken's water tub to cool off.

Then as she grew, she was confused why she couldn't fit any longer.

Then she discovered the bigger water tub.

I'm getting old & my memory might be playing tricks on me but I think long, long ago I was an alpha. You know, alpha as in your the leader? Now days I look around & there's 4 dogs, my wife & my SF & me. Everybody listed ranks above me. Damn!

Yeah, I know exactly how "vicious" photos look. My Akita boys look vicious when playing but they are the most gentle boys when dealing with me. Both of mine have also been neutered at just a few week old.

Your boys seemed like they have a secial bond like mine do.

Thank you.
It's so important for dogs to be able to interact and play.
All four of my dogs are inside dogs, but they are not couch potatoes, nor overweight.
When they go outside, they run and wrestle and play hard; burn energy outside before coming back inside.
I love capturing photos of them doing it!

So we are babysitting again from 4pm Friday until sometime Sunday evening. KaKo is back. She is Myshia's little sister (same litter). Nothing but fun. I got up to use the bathroom at 3:15 this morning. As I turned the coffee on I heard a bark from one of them (they sound alike). By 3:18am I'm standing in the backyard with a spotlight to make sure that the only critters out there are mine. Yes, there were 4 out of 5 of them checking out the smells. I fricken love standing out there watching them check out & smell the whole yard at that time of the morning. Then I was the PERFECT HUSBAND & only let our oldest girl go back to bed with my wife. Had I let the sisters back in my wife wouldn't have gotten another minutes sleep. I just survived feeding time at the zoo with no altercations. One was fed in a closed room because he will steal the others food, another was in another closed room because everyone will try to steal her food & I watched the other 3 of them so nothing would go down with them. Fun Stuff!

I have to do doggie wrangling when hubby wants to sleep in on Saturday mornings.. You are not alone!
Out of our 4, I have one that is a "sleeping buddy". The other 3 fight, walk up my body (one like to stand on my chest & lick my nose) or just leave. My buddy comes up & puts her neck across my neck, gives me a tiny lick on the nose & then I lift the cover & she dives in. She won't move as long as I'm not getting up. Naps with her are great. Naps with the others tend to not last very long.

This knucklehead doesn't believe in sleeping in. He will, quite purposefully, carry a nylabone to the bedroom and continually raise it up and drop it in the hardwood floor right next to the bed to create noise. I have to put the bones up, shut the door, and try to keep him occupied so Mr TC can sleep an extra 30-60 minutes on Sat morning.

We are fostering a dog from the shelter that has heartworm. He will begin treatment on August 5and will need to be kept calm while he’s under treatment. We’ll have him for at least a month. He is the perfect dog. Never a problem.

Tell me if I a smart dog..,

Today’s yard work included moving my Suburban to cleanup around it, trimming grass and weeds, pulling grape vines off fence, raking, etc..,

The area was well cleaned up with some clean dry dirt. The dog was about ready to mark her new territory… I called her away to park the truck back where it was. I left it running to warmup and charge battery. I looked looked back at the dog sitting in the driveway… and giving me the WTHeck look with ears at half mast, wide eyes and tilted head.
