My web browser's script blocker extension inadvertently turned your joke into a different joke. Judging by the way it looked on my computer screen, you must be so blonde that you posted a blank joke. I know it's just my script blocker, but it still made me laugh, and I haven't even seen the real joke yet! Gotta turn that script blocker off now so I can see it...

I still use runner carpets and have one stairway with that clear plastic.
I have 1 3x5' carpet in a hall. When the dog decides to have "an accident", she always does it on that carpet. I have about 10 spares so I swap them out. Other carpets are to cover the floors from exterior doors to places like wood stoves so the dirt, mud, snow, wood chips... all stay on the runners.

Back in 2000, I had that made up as a sign in both English and Arabic for the owner of FB riding stables at Giza. Every word of it is true when they rent horses to tourists.
