The head of the Odessa Regional Military Administration, Maksym Marchenko, confirmed the shelling of the Russian Black Sea Fleet's flagship cruiser "Moskva".

As Censor.NEТ reports, the information about defeats was also confirmed by the head of Odessa Regional Military Administration, Maksym Marchenko

He noted: "It was confirmed that the missile cruiser "Moskva" went exactly where our border guards had sent it on Zmeiniy Island! The "Neptun" missiles, standing guard over the Black Sea, inflicted very serious damage on the Russian ship".
Russia has officially recognized the defeat of the missile cruiser "Moscow"

Outside sources are reporting the Russian ship was hit by something. This war needs to end, now. Biden thinks this war will divert attention away from his policies and 38% approval rating SO HE WILL DO NOTHING.

Do the Ukrainian people have a friend? Not Putin, obviously. Not Zelensky, he is a prima dona on stage. Not Biden, he is OK with this war going on until 11/8/22. Not the EU, they are sending in just enough arms to say they sent arms. Not NATO---not with a ten foot pole.

The only friends seem to be individual countries (and people) around Ukraine who are willing to accept refugees.

Here is a report I found about the ship:

(KYIV, Ukraine) — Ukrainian forces said they hit and badly damaged the flagship of Russia’s Black Sea fleet, and Russia said its crew was forced to evacuate as a result of a fire without acknowledging an attack, as the battle shifts east and around the battered city of Mariupol where the defenders were still holding out.

The governor of the Odesa region, Maksym Marchenko, said the Ukrainians struck the guided-missile cruiser Moskva with two missiles and caused “serious damage.”

Russia’s Defense Ministry confirmed the ship was damaged but not that it was hit by Ukraine — it said ammunition on board detonated as a result of a fire of as-yet undetermined causes. The entire crew was evacuated, it added; the cruiser typically has about 500 on board.

If confirmed, the sinking of the cruiser would be a major blow to Russia, after the tank carrier Orsk was hit and set on fire in an attack in Berdyansk in the Sea of Azov late last month.

The reported ship attack by Neptune cruise missiles came a day after President Joe Biden called Russia’s actions in Ukraine “a genocide” and approved $800 million in new military assistance to Kyiv, saying weapons from the West have sustained Ukraine’s fight so far and “we cannot rest now.” The munitions include artillery systems, armored personnel carriers and helicopters.

Russia invaded on Feb. 24 with the goal, according to Western officials, of taking Kyiv, toppling the government and installing a Moscow-friendly replacement. But the ground advance slowly stalled and Russia lost potentially thousands of fighters. The conflict has killed untold numbers of Ukrainian civilians and forced millions more to flee. It also has rattled the world economy, threatened global food supplies and shattered Europe’s post-Cold War balance.

The presidents of Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia showed their support to Ukraine on a visit Wednesday to war-ravaged areas and demanded accountability for what they called war crimes. They meet with their counterpart, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and visited Borodyanka, one of the towns near Kyiv where evidence of atrocities was found after Russian troops withdrew to focus on the country’s east.

“There are no doubts that they committed war crimes. And for that, they should be accountable,” Latvian President Egils Levits said.

The Lithuanian president, Gitanas Nauseda, added: “The fight for Europe’s future is happening here.” He called for tougher sanctions, including against Russian oil and gas shipments and all the country’s banks.

In one of the most crucial battles of the war in the southern port city of Mariupol, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Maj.-Gen. Igor Konashenkov said 1,026 troops from the Ukrainian 36th Marine Brigade surrendered at a metals factory. But Vadym Denysenko, adviser to Ukraine’s interior minister, rejected the claim, telling Current Time TV that “the battle over the seaport is still ongoing today.”

Russian troops are gearing up for a major offensive in the eastern Donbas region, where Moscow-allied separatists and Ukrainian forces have been fighting since 2014. Mariupol is a key piece in the Russian campaign and lies in the Donbas, which the Russians have pummeled for weeks.

It was unclear when a surrender may have occurred or how many forces were still defending Mariupol.

Russian state television broadcast footage Wednesday that it said was from Mariupol showing dozens of men in camouflage walking with their hands up and carrying others on stretchers or in chair holds. One man held a white flag. In the background was a tall industrial building with its windows shattered and roof missing, identified by the broadcaster as the Iliich metalworks.

A U.N. task force warned that the war threatens to devastate the economies of many developing countries that are facing even higher food and energy costs and increasingly difficult financial conditions. U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the war is “supercharging” a crisis in food, energy and finance in poorer countries that were already struggling to deal with the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change and a lack of access to funding.

In his nightly address, Zelenskyy noted that the prosecutor of the International Criminal Court visited the Kyiv suburb of Bucha, which was controlled by Russian forces until recently and where evidence of mass killings and more than 400 bodies were found.

“It is inevitable that the Russian troops will be held responsible. We will drag everyone to a tribunal, and not only for what was done in Bucha,” Zelenskyy said late Wednesday.

He also said work was continuing to clear tens of thousands of unexploded shells, mines and trip wires left in northern Ukraine by the departing Russians. He urged people returning to homes to be wary of any unfamiliar objects and report them to police.

Also Wednesday, a report commissioned by the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe found “clear patterns of (international humanitarian law) violations by the Russian forces in their conduct of hostilities.” It was written by experts selected by Ukraine and published by the Vienna-based organization, which promotes security and human rights.

The report said there were also violations by Ukraine, but concluded those committed by Russia “are by far larger in scale and nature.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin has denied his troops committed atrocities, saying Tuesday that Moscow “had no other choice” but to invade and would “continue until its full completion and the fulfillment of the tasks that have been set.” He insisted Russia’s campaign was going as planned despite a major withdrawal after its forces failed to take the capital and suffered significant losses.

The Russian Defense Ministry said Thursday its Black Sea flagship Moskva, which was involved in Moscow's military operation in Ukraine, is still afloat after a fire set off ammunitions explosions onboard.
"There is no open fire. The ammunitions explosions have stopped. The Moskva cruiser remains afloat," the ministry said in a statement.
It added that the warship's "main missile armaments" were not harmed and its crew has been evacuated to nearby ships in the Black Sea.
"Measures are ongoing to tow the cruiser into port," the ministry said.
The Ukrainian military said earlier it had struck the Russian warship. The Russian Defense Ministry, however, said the cause of the fire was still being established.
The Moskva — which with other vessels in Moscow's Black Sea fleet has been blockading the southern city of Mariupol — gained notoriety early in the war when it called on Ukrainian border troops defending the strategic Snake Island to surrender, only to be defiantly refused.
The troops in question were initially believed to have been killed, but in fact were taken captive.
They were released as part of a prisoner exchange with Russia in late March, according to the Ukrainian Parliament.
Ukraine's human rights ombudswoman Lyudmyla Denisova said the soldiers had described being taken to an unknown location where they were held in freezing conditions and suffered frostbite.

And another report, just a fire on board with munitions. Still afloat, all men from board and will be towed into repairs in drydock....
Well, yes ... During the combat operation, a couple of sailors smoked in the wrong place, as a result of which the ship exploded and drowned ...

As soon as Russia gets out of the territory of Ukraine, everything will end immediately.
Not true.
The Ukrainian govt was attacking the Donbas region for eight years.
Diplomatic attempts did not work; even a signed agreement to resolve the issue was consistently violated and not fulfilled. (I think it was called "the Minsk agreement".)
If/when Russia leaves, the Ukrainian govt is likely to continue doing the same . . . unless the extreme elements of the Ukrainian govt are purged.
Let's not forget that the Ukrainian govt was (and still is) a US govt stooge; their actions are primarily driven by US govt interests which are hell-bent on destabilization of the region, regardless of the death and destruction wrought on the local population.

The US govt has been pouring weapons into Ukraine for years, especially to keep the pressure on Donbas. One of the catalysts for one of the threats to impeach Trump was when he stopped the flow of weapons to Ukraine.
The US and its ME allies were crucial to the transport of Al Qaeda fighters from Syria to assist the Ukrainian govt.

Propaganda is always without context. We only see "Russian losses" listed in great detail.

The fact is -- Ukraine lost. It's over. The West is trying to keep it going.

The NWO wants Putin gone. The NWO couldn't care less about losses in Ukraine.

I agree with you that "Ukraine lost".

However, there are still crucial unanswered questions (which will be known in time):
- how much will Ukraine lose (by the end of the conflict)?
- how much will the rest of Europe lose (by the end of the conflict)? (They are fools for falling into the US govt's trap of cutting off Nordstream 2 and many other US govt schemes.)
- how much damage will be inflicted on Russia?
- how much will the US govt lose? (it has lost a lot geopolitically already and is too stupid to know it)
- how many other fools (like the Australian federal govt) will also lose by coming to the aid of the Ukrainian govt (at the urging and behest of the US govt), and how much will they lose?
- who will win and how much? (There will be winners. Most or all of the winners will not be combatants.) (e.g. crude oil exporters, wheat exporters, extremists across EU and ME who will receive the weapons the West sent to Ukraine).

Operational information of AFU General Staff on Russian invasion as of 18:00 on April 16

генштаб
The General Staff of the AFU released operational information on the Russian invasion as of 18:00 on April 16.
According to Censor.NЕТ, this is stated in оfficial Facebook of General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The message notes: "The fifty-second day of heroic resistance of the Ukrainian people to the Russian military invasion continues.
Russia continues its full-scale armed aggression against Ukraine.
The enemy launched air and missile strikes on infrastructure and residential areas with the involvement of air and sea components.
Due to the conduct of hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, the rotation of units of the 68th General Army of Eastern Military District in the Syrian Arab Republic has been postponed.

According to available information, the enlistment offices of the Central Military District of the Russian Armed Forces are agitating conscripts to sign short-term contracts of three months to one year.
In the Volyn and Polissya directions the enemy did not conduct active operations. During the regrouping of troops, the movement by rail from the territory of the Republic of Belarus ( Gomel-Novobelytska railway station), units of the 83rd Independent Airborne Assault Brigade of the Russian Federation Armed Forces were detected.
The threat of missile attacks on critical infrastructure from the territory of Belarus remains.

In the Siversk direction, the enemy is completing the regrouping of troops of the Central Military District. It is not excluded that occupants will continue rocket and artillery strikes from Russian territory against military and civilian infrastructure facilities in Ukraine.
In the Slobozhansky direction, the main efforts of the enemy are focused on regrouping, reinforcing grouping of their units and continuing to hold their positions near Kharkiv.
In the Izium direction, the main efforts of occupiers are focused on maintaining the occupied borders and positions in the area of settlements: Sukha Kamyanka, Sulyhivka, Brazhkivka, Mala Komyshuvakha and Andriivka.

The enemy is trying to improve its tactical position, during the day attempted an offensive and assault action and tried to move deeper into the village of Dovgenke. No luck, suffered significant losses. Units from the 106th Airborne Division were moved from the territory of the Russian Federation to reinforce the grouping in the mentioned direction.
After establishing a strike grouping and forming reserves, the enemy will try to resume offensive in the direction of Barvinkovo and Slovyansk.
In the Donetsk and Tavria directions, occupants attempt to apply fire influence and conduct assault actions in most directions. The enemy strengthened the grouping of troops by moving some units of the Central Military District from the territory of Belgorod Region to the area of Svatovo settlement.
The enemy is expected to continue its assault actions along the entire line of contact in Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Concentrate their efforts on capturing the populated areas of Popasna, Rubizhne, the city of Mariupol, as well as reaching the areas of Vugledar and Marinka settlements. It will also prepare for an offensive in the Kurakhiv and Avdiivka directions.

At the same time, there is a decrease in level of moral and psychological condition of the units of the 1st Army Corps operating in the Donetsk direction. This is due to heavy losses of the units, which were replenished by mobilized men.
In the South Bug direction, enemy efforts were focused on trying to establish full control over the territory of Kherson Region and to hold the occupied positions. In Kherson, it was revealed that the Russian occupation administration distributed propaganda leaflets calling for peaceful coexistence with the occupiers. At the same time, the frightening and terrorizing of the civilian population continues.
According to available information, the probability of involving the operational group of Russian troops in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova in armed aggression against Ukraine remains low".
