I’ve got two extra bags each for my buddies right now. Will try to add two more just in case. I think I will venture out carefully on Monday and try to get a few things. Really trying to limit my exposure to this though.

Here’s the thing guys...how long do we need food for our animals? No one knows, right? If it’s 3 months I’m set. If it’s longer, I’m not.

Yep, I bought 2 half gallons the other day just in case gonna get 2 more. Also heading to lowes to pick up more privacy fence slats. The shopping center is right behind my house when the food runs out it might get ugly. Glad i got plenty of ammo. Hope it does not come to that.

You might want to put some type of alarms along your back fence if you don’t have a good dog.

Kate its the OFFICIAL lack of facts from the global governments that tells us we need to act ourselves because the governments are clueless.

I don't think they are clueless. I think they are scared shitless because they realize they screwed up. They can't inform us fully, because the panic we see now would be tenfold and be unmanageable. It's a thin line to tow. But he's right. WE need to act ourselves in this crisis, and look out for our own (and others).

You

You should be OK for that. I'm set for a month with normal food, then longer if we need it with other solutions, but hopefully will just be a couple of weeks instead.

Trump has said hourly workers will still get paid. He didn’t say how that will work though, or how long. They are going to spend the billions that this emergency declaration freed up. Great, even more debt.... I don’t know how things will work for the self employed but imagine the SS office? Not that I want to go to crowded places right now. Just relax, depend on your preps and knowledge to get through this one day at a time.

There are two choices right now. 1) help Americans who will riot, starve or steal without money for food or 2) go into more debt. Like you I detest going into more debt, but don’t see a way around it. Do you?

True! So true! We all need to stick to your plan for this type of disaster...and change it as needed.

I think it's some of both plus more. There is a ton they don't know, so partially clueless. They did screw up to some degree, but let's face it, this thing was going to get here sooner or later. And I agree that they are withholding info because the majority of the public couldn't handle it.

I've said this before. Just about every crisis/disaster/ prep event can be solved by isolating, being self sufficient, and being able to protect your borders. Nearly every exception is an act of God: volcano, earthquake, flood, meteor...

before this is all over I will have the house cleaner than it was when new,,,,,,and the yard will be well groomed,,,,
Yeah, I’ve allready come a long way on the yard. Burned all day again, cleaning all kinds of crap up. Still have a lot to do yet but at least now I’m working on it. Before I was just too busy and kind of gave up.

Now THERE is a large portion of the optimism that all preppers should have at the moment. Who cares about the saving and loans? I have lost and rebuilt 7 times already from companies going bankrupt, stealing my investments, moving from the US and Germany back and forth 4 times with the military. I have enough furniture, food, medicine and clothing for all 3 generations of my immediate family. Not new to this, been through enough storms, floods, bankrupts, cancer, accidents and the rest of the BS which has been happening to US ALL for the last 40 years...if it is my time, I wanna go out saving the next generation and making their lives better and easier than mine was. What other job does a family man actually have?? Make something better for the family and enjoy watching them enjoy it...Gary

A reliable source told me today that there is an immanent likelihood of a national lockdown. You'll probably have 2-3 days to get home. Exactly all the details, I'm not sure (I doubt they are either yet). But consider the implications.

Spain just announced one. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...mpose-nationwide-lockdown-draft-idUSKBN2110LE

I think that I could survive a lockdown for a good while. I work in the medical field (I'm currently certified as a CCT, which makes me qualified to interpret EKG material for patients with heart monitors), so I've been applying at different hospitals.

I will be exposed to patients (and, probably, colleagues) who have Corona, but--at the same time--I'll have access to all the isolation stuff that I need.

As a medical worker, I probably won't be subject to the same curfew restrictions that everyone else has, and--if a vaccine is developed--healthcare workers are usually the first to get it.

France just announced closing all cafes, restaurants, theaters...

if it comes to a lock down and the feds do what I heard,,,,,,,covering 2/3 of our paychecks and loan payments suspended I won't like it but I can hunker down and ride out the storm,I'll make one last grocery run and pick up more FEED and hide out here on the Ponderosa and maybe this will run it's course in a few months,,,,,,,,,,,,

this was going to be my year,,,,,well it's not looking to good for that right now,,,,I will have to spend another winter at the mill,,,damn the luck

Look at the upside GG. There are worse things than spending time at home. At least by doing that you know you will have your year in the future...instead of never.

US Supreme Court shuts for first time since 1918

The US Supreme Court - which had already closed its doors to the public due to the rapidly-spreading coronavirus - has announced that it will not hear legal arguments this month.

The suspension of trial arguments marks the first time since 1918 that the Supreme Court has taken such a drastic move.

In announcing the decision, the court cited previous closures during the Spanish flu in the early 1900s and the yellow fever outbreak in the 18th Century.

That's what is going to happen here in TX as well, apparently. Meanwhile our governor is telling people they don't need to stock up on supplies, because there's plenty.
I keep seeing that as well. I am sure the governor is well stocked. Don’t panic but he says, yet there are signs saying toilet paper is out from the manufacture.
I pass several fast food restaurants on my commute to work. The lines in the drive thru are normally several cars deep and depending on the time of day the lines are even wrapped around the building. People are not eating at restaurants as much either. If people start eating at home more often, they will need to buy food more quickly. The store shelves have already been hit hard. This will cause a disruption because there will be higher demand for groceries. I don't trust any of them because if you listen closely, they will all admit that they don't really know.

Just got a message from a friend in the CDC. He said a nation-wide 14 day shutdown is going to be announced shortly. Also heard this from a Pentagon contact.

In my humble opinion 14 days is totally insufficient. Some have noted that this virus can emerge after as many as 24 days. Nice contacts to have Gazrok!

Here’s how I see it. Nobody really knows because people are not predictable on this issue. Too many are still gathering in crowds...and then they will spread it. IF too many people working in a toilet paper factory come down with it, then production will suffer. Ditto for everything we purchase. All the products from China are iffy, not just because of the production of them, but because of the supply chain to get here and then delivered.

I tend to agree that 14 days will not break the cycle. It would slow it down but not stop the inevitable. It seems to me they are scared shitless of the hospitals being overwhelmed. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means but do agree there’s more than is being publicly admitted. I understand they don’t want a run on supplies and a break down the system by preaching to stay calm. All I know is my loyalties lie with my family and we are well prepared. I also want to express my great fullness that I have been able to provide as much as I have for this. I realize many cant afford to stock up or own a piece of land to garden on.
