I tend to agree that 14 days will not break the cycle. It would slow it down but not stop the inevitable. It seems to me they are scared shitless of the hospitals being overwhelmed. I’m not a conspiracy theorist by any means but do agree there’s more than is being publicly admitted. I understand they don’t want a run on supplies and a break down the system by preaching to stay calm. All I know is my loyalties lie with my family and we are well prepared. I also want to express my great fullness that I have been able to provide as much as I have for this. I realize many cant afford to stock up or own a piece of land to garden on.

Totally agree with your assessments. Who knows how many full fledge riots we would have otherwise? It seems the best way to deal with this killer pandemic is to slow it down, as there is no stopping it until a vaccine is created. And the WORST possible scenario is too many people contracting at the same time.

Yes I been saying for a month now, for me, this is old news. If I knew all this a month ago, you dont think the government did? So why are they doing everything so late in the crises?

Here’s the thing guys...how long do we need food for our animals? No one knows, right? If it’s 3 months I’m set. If it’s longer, I’m not.
I have a weeks worth of hay left for my cattle. Due to the condition of my road I'm only able to haul in a ton at a time, every 3 days. What happens to my cattle if there's truly a lock down? Let them starve? Or should I just shoot them all and send a bill to the government?

think I would have to cut a hole in my fence and let them graze on park land. . . . Opps, didn't know my cows got out. . . It's better than the alternative. I have more than a couple weeks of hay stored, but don't think it hasn't crossed my mind on what I would have to do it needed.

I keep seeing that as well. I am sure the governor is well stocked. Don’t panic but he says, yet there are signs saying toilet paper is out from the manufacture.
I pass several fast food restaurants on my commute to work. The lines in the drive thru are normally several cars deep and depending on the time of day the lines are even wrapped around the building. People are not eating at restaurants as much either. If people start eating at home more often, they will need to buy food more quickly. The store shelves have already been hit hard. This will cause a disruption because there will be higher demand for groceries. I don't trust any of them because if you listen closely, they will all admit that they don't really know.
I heard Chick-Fil-A closed their dining area, only drive thru (maybe carry out? not sure) is available.

Just remember, people have survived plagues, wars, economic turmoil, etc. ‘This too shall pass’ comes to mind. Prepping is not about being able to change the world around you. It’s to help you get through the tough things going on around you. Don’t forget to see the good in the world each day and enjoy the things you can. The world has always had it’s good and bad times. We’ve been lucky enough to have enjoyed a really long ride during the good. Remember to help out those we can, be kind, be safe and be aware of things around you. Life will go on. I guess what I’m really trying to ramble on about here is mostly don’t worry about things. Just do your best to minimize the impacts to you and yours.

Very inspirational Brent! It is important to look for the good in every day! And there is no doubt we have enjoyed a very long ride of ease and plenty.

Rest assured, more are coming. I believe three or four entire states have closed ALL restaurants and bars now. Can you imagine how many people are going to be affected by this financially....

There is no doubt the plague will pass, one way or another. The economic impact? Not so sure it will pass as quickly.

I think we are seeing a shift from brick and motor schools to online schools. Once the public has be shifted, why would the schools return to an expensive model, when it is so much cheaper to stay online?

This is going to spotlight lots of waste and unneeded employees. People will realize that many thing can be streamlined and done a lot less expensively.

I’m betting on LA and NYC not being far behind! Just think of all the Dem cities filled with homeless and illegals.

Telling people to not go to work unless you are "essential" is special. Cal will all go this way... as one of my friends who lives there like to say (dripping with disgust) "where California goes, the rest of the county follows"!

Grazing on park land would help. Also make sure to plant what you can for them now.

the media is in fine form today,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's all Trumps fault he has not done enough to stop the virus,,,some governor's are complaining that Washington is not doing enough,,,,this ticks me off

when I have a problem I don't wait on someone else to fix it for me or tell me what to do,,,,I fix the problem my damned self

this Virus is the same, crowds are where you are most likely to pick this crap up,,,,stay away from crowds,,, restaurants are bad news stay out of them,,,plain and simple keep your distance from others,if someone is sick stay away from them,,,,,you need supplies buy them yourself, don't sit on your hands and wait for someone to do it for you

I don't like the blame game and at the state level this is the game they are playing,,,,and the media is having a ball,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,F-------------K THE MEDIA

Let them starve? Or should I just shoot them all and send a bill to the government?
Not yet AD, it takes weeks of starvation in animals to create an irreversible damage in their body. Lots of water, wait. Watch the weakest ones, if needed turn them loose in the fields, guard them days over and lock them up again nights. They will eat the strangest things if really hungry. Feed the mothers with calves first, separate the weakest and decide if, when, which, how many need to be put down, how fast can you freeze the meat, smoke it, sell it straight out or trade it for gas, ammo or fresh veggies. Put them on a little diet already and stretch your present amount of food on hand. Haul what you can, you've been doing this for a long time already, I probably haven't told you anything you don't already know or have not already had to do. Just wanted to refresh your memory a bit...Gary

not being a wise ass but,,,,they are your animals you feed them as long as you can I doubt they will lock you down considering where I think you are at,,ranchers around here are almost always low on hay this time of year,,,,,,,,right now you could still sell them...................
