the media is in fine form today,,,,,,,,,,,,,it's all Trumps fault he has not done enough to stop the virus,,,some governor's are complaining that Washington is not doing enough,,,,this ticks me off

when I have a problem I don't wait on someone else to fix it for me or tell me what to do,,,,I fix the problem my damned self

this Virus is the same, crowds are where you are most likely to pick this crap up,,,,stay away from crowds,,, restaurants are bad news stay out of them,,,plain and simple keep your distance from others,if someone is sick stay away from them,,,,,you need supplies buy them yourself, don't sit on your hands and wait for someone to do it for you

I don't like the blame game and at the state level this is the game they are playing,,,,and the media is having a ball,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,F-------------K THE MEDIA

And many of the Dems are so ignorant or brainwashed they agree with it! The President is NOT responsible for everything!! This is a REPUBLIC and states run their own damn state! We do not have a King or Authoritarian in the United States! DUH!

Telling people to not go to work unless you are "essential" is special. Cal will all go this way... as one of my friends who lives there like to say (dripping with disgust) "where California goes, the rest of the county follows"!

Tell your friend it’s a saying, just like the one on the Statue of Liberty...it MEANS SQUAT. LOL :D

not being a wise ass but,,,,they are your animals you feed them as long as you can I doubt they will lock you down considering where I think you are at,,ranchers around here are almost always low on hay this time of year,,,,,,,,right now you could still sell them...................
Absolutely. I was being somewhat of a smart ass myself. I don't believe that they'll lock down this area. I do plan to sell all of my yearlings, and maybe a couple older cows, this summer after they fatten up on good green pasture. Right now the cattle market is down and we're still over a month away from having any grass.

Not yet AD, it takes weeks of starvation in animals to create an irreversible damage in their body. Lots of water, wait. Watch the weakest ones, if needed turn them loose in the fields, guard them days over and lock them up again nights. They will eat the strangest things if really hungry. Feed the mothers with calves first, separate the weakest and decide if, when, which, how many need to be put down, how fast can you freeze the meat, smoke it, sell it straight out or trade it for gas, ammo or fresh veggies. Put them on a little diet already and stretch your present amount of food on hand. Haul what you can, you've been doing this for a long time already, I probably haven't told you anything you don't already know or have not already had to do. Just wanted to refresh your memory a bit...Gary
The cattle are running loose. They're also still belly deep in snow up here. We are getting some bare ground showing up on the lower slopes of the ranch. But we're a long way from getting any grass growing. I've got a good source of good quality oat hay now. But with the condition of my road I can only haul in a ton at a time and I'm feeding 2 ton every 5 days.
There are a combition of things that lead to my hay shortage; 1) last summer when I was putting my hay up I was also sick and the seller cheated me by about 30%. 2) I had to start feeding a lot earlier than expected. And 3) I had some range cattle sneak in with my cattle and I fed them for a month before I could cut them out.

Nothing older that yesterdays news Rellgar. But if they got nothing to say or nothing new, they will just dig up something out of the trash which they have NOT said yet. Gotta love them, open mouth, insert foot. Open mouth, change feet...

I think most People are going to realize that the cold they had last month was the Corona virus and its done came and passed . The only difference is now it has a name and plenty of media hype .

That is the same thing my daughter said. She thinks her husband, her and the kids had it last month. Same symptoms for her and hubby...less symptoms for the kids. My Son thinks his kids and wife had it already and he just got over it.

it is an over reaction,in this case it's Trump covering his ass

Not sure about that GG. The problem isn’t the number of people we have lost to the virus, it’s the hit the economy is taking BECAUSE of the fear of the CVirus. He needs to have done all he has as we don’t want to end up with total economic collapse.

This is the beginning of everything I've ever feared and I can't believe that I'm going to see it I'm my lifetime.
My manager and the owner were talking today about all the impacts this is having throughout the community. People who can't go to work because they're kids aren't in school. Restaurants that aren't getting business because people aren't going out, and may have to close down permanently. The stock market having the biggest drops in history.
I realized as I hear them talk how life changing and society changing this event really is.

I live in Western NY and it's gotten crazy. All stores are picked over, all schools are suspended indefinitely. People are already starting to get crazy. I have been an "amature prepper" for a while a feel better suited than most ( long military/ combat experience), but now wish I had more done.

Are you 100% sure?

Yes, I am hearing from multiple sources that a lockdown is immanent. Now, am I 100% sure it will happen? Who can be, outside the White House?

This is a heads-up. If you have to travel to your BOL, get going. If you live in a big city & have plans to bug out at Aunt Lisa's farm 150 miles away, I'd suggest to call her & start. Nobody knows how hard of a lockdown it will be. Just no get-togethers / close sit-down restaurants? Or stay the **** home and one person can go out every 3 days? These are unknowns.

I just heard, now West Virginia has a case. All is lost! (humor folks)

IMPORTANT::::: here is an excellent site for looking at the numbers: https://dersticher.github.io/Covid19-Chart/?country=US
At the top right you can select which country. Top center you can switch from linear to log scale. Country by country, day by day. You can see how insanely quick this virus is spreading which is why countries are taking unprecedented actions. You can see where truthful nations are seeing 10x increases every 14 days.

So, for example, the US has 6k cases today. That will be 60k cases on 4/1. 600k cases on 4/15. And 6 million cases on 4/29. But look at Korea, South. That is what we can do with widespread testing & lockdowns. There is good reasons for doing this.

Just remember, people have survived plagues, wars, economic turmoil, etc. ‘This too shall pass’ comes to mind. Prepping is not about being able to change the world around you. It’s to help you get through the tough things going on around you. Don’t forget to see the good in the world each day and enjoy the things you can. The world has always had it’s good and bad times. We’ve been lucky enough to have enjoyed a really long ride during the good. Remember to help out those we can, be kind, be safe and be aware of things around you. Life will go on. I guess what I’m really trying to ramble on about here is mostly don’t worry about things. Just do your best to minimize the impacts to you and yours.

I really needed to hear this today. Thank you!

My best guess is if this goes on for more than 4 more weeks we will really start to see a breakdown with crime and looting in the cities. Right now people are just scared, once the masses are scared and hungry then security will be a higher priority for us all.

My husband says the key is the groceries. If they can keep some of the food out there that will help keep the violence down. When the food runs out all bets are off. People are not going to stay in their houses without food.

That's really what it comes down to -- miss food for 24 hours and you lose a lot of your mental faculties--heck I was feeling crazy last time I had to miss two meals for a blood test. That said, I do not think we will get to that scenario in most cases unless there are lasting supply chain disruptions; for example if the virus proves to be worse than we have seen and benches 1/3 of truckers that could put a huge in dent in the food chain. However, even in that case many would still eventually have access and the military would likely intervene at some point-- problem with that is you don't want to be in one of those places. That's likely worst case and if you look at Italy or China it does not really seem like they had significant supply chain disruptions, but again just goes back to how severe it is.

If it mutates and if we have other events occur concurrently all bets off-- I don't think the U.S. could handle a Katrina and a pandemic at the same time very well--not enough body bags.

My only concern is the Fed's ordering fuel stations shut down. We have enough food to last a year or so, but I haven't got my bulk fuel tanks set-up yet. Plus it'll be another month before the fuel truck could make it up here to fill them. My truck will hold a hundred gallons and my main generator has a 55 gallon tank. And my propane tank is down to about 50%. We'll be good for a couple months, but after that??
