I read one Kate and William’s wedding that it cost 34 million dollars and 32 million was spent on keeping spectators safe. That’s some high dollar prepping. I have tried to think of what this could have been spent on.. but I can’t even get close to justifying those dollars.

Just wondering what Silent Earth and Big Paul are wearing to the festivities today?

I couldnt help thinking also about where they put the immigrants today?
i'm trying to ignore it as much as possible, a lot of hype over 2 people getting married, i'm over 250 miles away from the "festivities" so no problems locally.

Avoiding it, I'm a Republican I consider the Royals to be very expensive welfare claimants. Security for the wedding cost £30 million pounds ($40 million) yet in this area we now have NO local police presence at all. The Uk is still in the 16th century on many cultural aspects.

Oh and dont think the Windsors / Wales/ Mountbattens/ Haps Coburgs will EVER accept Miss Markle as anything other than a brood mare just like Fergie and Dianna were. IE used to produce the next generation without the problems associated with In breeding, then she will be sidelined (or bumped off).

In the UK we have the Mountbattens, Wales, Windsors. Glosters, Coburgs etc and in the US they have the Vanderbilts, Kennedy's, Astors, Duponts and of course the Spucklers as their aristocrats :) But think how it Could have been :)

What miss Markle needs to understand it that if she evee becomes more popular than her hubby or the Windsors they will not tolerate it, they will get rid of her.

I actually heard some news person say that this marriage could help with U.S./British relations. Are they living in the 18th century when such thing actually mattered?

No one cares that they married. Most don't even know who she is.

US / British relations !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I dont think that ever actually really existed. The American and British person in the street are very similar but both sides politicians would stab the other in the back in a milisecond. Bet you did not know that during the Cold War the UK even had a plan for how to deal with a US invasion of the UK....... Or the fact the US had an actual operationl plan for war against the UK. I have no doubt that at some future point in history the US will end up fighting the UK or the EU or Both its what our half witted politicians exist for.

by the way we want Hawaii back :) but dont you dare try to give us new York back we dont want it :)

second time a British royal has married an American divorcee, the last time it didn't go well, second time lucky? doubt it.
personally I think the Royals bring in the tourists and business, just look at all the crowds for this wedding, I don't fancy having a President instead of the royals, I mean can you imagine someone like Blair as pres, and he would put himself forward for the job its in his ego, he is hated in this country, no i'll stick with the royal family thank you.

I am watching the ceremony right now. To clarify, my wife loves this stuff, has it on while I’m playing on the iPad here.... personally I don’t give much attention to the wedding, but the historical buildings are spectacular. I have got to come over to England soon to see some of the history there!

Stay away from London, they prey upon Merkins and treat y'all like ****. I could blow your mind better than an LSD trip by taking you to places like York, Hadrians Wall, Vindolanda, Glastonbury Tor, Wells, Tintagel, and blow your senses riding the West Somerset Heritage Railway in mid summer, Or Castle Howard in North Yorks. You can do ALL of the best bits of England and Wales for the cost of one week in the ******** that is London.

Nope. I have no idea what the nope meant, but I can't delete. I love those pics. I would love to live in the middle of the county in a castle, but I would still want to have my chickens, bees and grow my own veggies. I would let someone clean the inside because I hate that part.

I will plan a trip before long and definitely appreciate the travel tips!

I’m not religious but looking at that image of York minster almost makes me want to be. What was the image of the old church ruins without a roof?

That my friend is Whitby Abby where a certain Count Vladislav Dracula first arrived in England, as written by Bram Stoker who wrote the story in Whitby. The Inside of the Minster is even better.

If you come you must drop in for a drink

Here we feel 200yrs old is historic. You have some of the most beautiful historic architectural places around!
The country is full of stuff like that and you dont need to waste time, money or your health spending more than half a day in London. its FILTHY, EXPENSIVE, POLLUTED, DANGEROUS, UNFRIENDLY and a trap for unwary Americans. ALL of the best parts of the UK are OUTSIDE of London and its INSANELY cheaper outside of London as well.
