That weed oil , RSO I think it's called is great for pain. My neighbor who was going through cancer used it and when I tried it I was pain free, slept great too.

However it does have the THC in it. So if your still working , and since most jobs drug test it's a no go for folks like me who work n subjected to random testing.

Nothing says you can't keep some handy in case SHTF and you need it.

If one is retired , use it when you need it.

Just figure out how much works for you for pain relief and don't be a idiot and drive while on it.

Over the counter stuff, alcohol are ok too..but gotta remember they are really poison in the long run and some are addictive.

Funny how that works..taboo the stuff that works n give the peasants poison for pain..
What made me wary of THC products was that people were arrested using it for pain relief because it's still a Fed. offense. I don't know if it's still that way but it was about 10 years ago.

@elkhound don't think of lady's slipper as pain reliever like advil or motrin. It's an antispasmodic and was used for uterine cramps, more akin to midol. Again... there are far more common plants for treating that issue for the ladies.
What would you say is the strongest plant for pain relief? I've tried kratom and wild lettuce.

I'll leave off this thread now but before I do I'll recommend two very common and often overlooked culinary/medicinal herbs that are effective for pain.

This is besides the most obvious herb which has already been covered (papaver somniferum opium poppy and its derivatives) which is and always has been THE # 1 most potent pain relieving herb known to date - not counting modern day synthetics.

Rosemary (Salvia rosmarinus) and white sage (salvia apiana, a.k.a. California white sage, bee sage, sacred white sage) both have strong pain relieving, anti-inflammatory, anti-microbial, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-anxiety and very powerful memory and mood enhancing properties. They are both safe to use daily and as often as wished and to date there are no known negative side effects from their use. If you can't get access to white sage there are several other sages that can be used as substitutes but the white sage really is the very, very best for medicinal purposes.

There are four easy, simple ways that both herbs can be administered and they can be administered separately or together:

- Oil infusion for topical application to massage into an effected area. The infused oil can be used cold or heated but heated is best. Tingling skin upon application is normal and to be expected.

- 10 minute hot water infusion to take orally by the spoonful or 1/4 cup full. Must be taken hot to be effective. Can be taken straight or sweetened to taste or added to a cup of other hot herbal tea if desired.

- Smudging/smouldering with the dried herb to disperse the volatile oil molecules into the air via the smoke. Inhalation this way is one of the most effective ways to get rapid results to lift the spirits and sense of well being and calmness.

- Both the infused oils and the water infusions can be used as inhalants in steam from a vaporizer / diffuser, simmering potpourri pot, into a hot bath to soak in, or can be put in a bowl of boiled hot water that you put your face over and inhale the steam from. Particularly helpful in instances of respiratory ailments.
