@hashbrown as an ex nurse :I agree: with @phideaux it looks nasty and should be seen to by a doctor.

Thoroughly imagine you with a branch made as a stick walking around the creek, you sound just like me. DH thoroughly chastises me as I don't feel pain nearly as much as others due to head injuries that impede my pain receptors and takes me straight to the doctor. Mind you he is the same as me stubborn to the core.

Yea.....

You might wanna get that looked at.

Broken big toes might be able to splint or buddy tape to the others.
The little bones in the foot...you need to get a cast or walking cast...and an X-ray...

Did it hurt right away? And did you say nice things when it happened?

Oh yeah it hurt but I didnt say a word, I couldnt!

HB,
PLEASE,
Don't let that go,
Bone infection can lead to amputation...

Get a doctor to look at it.

Jim

Worst problem about the injury is that when I took off my boot the toenail was sticking up a half an inch. I'm dreading hooking it on something and tearing it the rest of the way off!

I think I might have broken a toe or two.....

Could be. Gray tape and a larger size boot should work. Limp around for a week or two telling the wife it's nothing. Or listen to her now, suck up the male stubbornness and make the Doctor appoint? Naw! It's just bruised a little. It will feel better once the big toe nail falls off along with the big toe.

I had to cut down some of the thicker stalks, but these little guys made short work of the smaller stuff.

So Saturday Jacob and I went to an auction, I hobbled around all morning and noticed my foot starting feeling better and I could walk on it. When I put my socks and shoes on my foot was black when I got home 90% of the bruising was gone and today it is almost completely healed I have never seen anything heal like that in my life!

A blind squirrel will find an acorn. You got very lucky and I am very pleased you are healing so well but maybe next time not so lucky. There is a reason we have doctors, besides needing someone to cuss at. Happy it turned out okay.

Indeed @TMT Tactical that is disastrously talented although I did see someone do that with their car off the road about 5 metres lower than road level on the way to shopping, although the car landed on it's wheels. How can you end up off the road and down an embankment on a completely straight stretch of road ?.

I am always amazed when I see accidents on flat open roads, where you can see for miles. Rest stops along the road. Fast food and gas stations and plenty of places to safely pull over and get any needed rest. When I see these accidents I figure natural selection is in action.

The work has now started and we have blanched and froze our first two batches of sweet potato in our 7.2lt stock pot making 15 meals for the freezer.

We haven't yet made a noticeable dent in the 100kg of them we harvested, but we did work on all the little ones today which tend to not keep as well as the larger ones in storage. They smelled so sweet when we were boiling them, yum, yum :D .

@phideaux your grandsons are handsome young men and I can understand why they would be a big part of your life :) .
