Microwaves tend to turn themselves off when you open the door. Which is probably a good thing. However, safety locks are overboard. What's next? Locks on the hot water faucet in the kitchen? Locks on the freezer door (it can get pretty cold in there)? Locks on the toilet seats (a small child could fall in and drown)?
They already have scald protect devices built in to newer faucets to prevent burns. Some fridges and freezers have locks that require a key to open. My stupid freezer will only open if I slip my fingers under the seal on the edge and pry it away. The whole damn thing moves if I try to open it with the handle.
As an aside, my sister has a friend who's little sister has a very bad case of epilepsy-- we're talking so bad she's in medical journals. She had a seizure in the shower and managed to turn the cold water off while flailing around and got 2nd degree burns. She has burn scars over her forearms and hands.
You do know that playpens work inverted ?
Ben
LOL. Some kids might flip them over. As an aside, my dad told me his mother complained that when she put him in a playmen, he figured out where the pieces went together and pulled the whole thing apart to get out. As a toddler he had more hand strength than she did.
"Put me on your do not call list." You could even have this as a part of your recording when you don't answer calls from unknown numbers. "If you are a telemarketer, know that I will never answer calls from unknown numbers, so put me on your do not call list."
I remember having people argue with me and refuse to put me on their "do not call" list.
Mom has been sick the past few days and it has made her cranky. She also has this bad habit of trying to talk to me and ask me questions while wearing her noise cancelling headphones. Today she said she wanted oatmeal and we were out so I said I'd get some at the store. It was loud enough that my brother heard it in the next room. We got back from the store and she started yelling at me about not making her oatmeal and my brother and I both said "We were out!" and she kept arguing and he told her that I said we were out and he repeated the conversation back verbatim.
Friend had some unexpected expenses bc they lied to him when they said the cost of the 2nd inspection was covered already. But at least it passed this time.
Unfortunately, one of his friends mentioned what street he moved to on Facebook and his grandfather has Facebook and decided to go looking for him. Old man would not have found him if he hadn't been outside turning the water on. Jerk stopped, laid on the horn, and then demanded to see the house. Friend said "no" and told him to piss off (in less polite terms). So now we need to figure out if a mighty mule gate opener can work for chain link and get a chainlink gate so the jerk can't pull in and block his driveway while laying on the horn. At least the path is rocky and hard to walk on so it would be hard for the old man to get to the front door, but he could still get to the back door. He's such a stalker! Friend needs a restraining order against him. He harassed my friend's 12yr old daughter so much on the phone that she asked her dad to turn off the minutes for her phone so she can't get calls. I know she does video calls with her friends but don't know if she has facebook or not. Old man would be facetime messaging her constantly if she did.
