Ya, after my first wife passed away and after eleven years passed married someone younger thinking I'll train her right, needless to say, the joke was on me :(

You have more chance of herding cats than training a woman............................

When we first got married, she made me get rid of my motorycle, and buy a sensible car instead, then she stopped me going to the pub, then she started picking my clothes followed by her choosing our holiday destinations, she then decided to make me healthy so she changed my diet, stopped me smoking and made me cut back on watching TV. After a few years she made me change jobs from a modestly paid job I loved to a high stress but better paid job I hated. then she complained about me spending to much time in the reserves so I left the reserves and stayed at home at weekends. Next came her complaining about me constantly playing loud rock music in the house, so I switched to litening to Radio 2. this went on for years..........................then one day she started yelling at me telling me " I was not the man she married" . I give up.

NOW YOU UNDERSTAND!! Men and women get married for different reasons, and BOTH get disappointed...
MEN get married, hoping their wife will NEVER change.
WOMEN get married, hoping their husband WILL change.
GOD am I lucky. I can get on the motorcycle, disappear for 3 days and call home from Switzerland and ask if all is OK. All she has to say is, " ya coulda said bye"...I buy anything in e-bay costing too much, get her something for half price to new and she loves both. I get her a bottle of cognac for her back pains and she brings me a 6 lb. bag of chocolate and cookies on sale after Christmas. I sharpen her kitchen knives and she will ask when we are going out with the camper trailer again. Nothing asked, nothing given or taken with the thought of having to have to "pay back". Just give more than you get and be happy that the other is healthy and still alive...Live and love free, GaRp.

It works both ways... I got rid of my quarter miler car (1968 1/2 Cougar 428 CJ R Car with 4 sp and 3.91 TR, my Miata...my juke box, my records disappeared... to be fair it wasn’t forced on me, but they were not being used....but I still keep going to Miatas. Not practical but it is what I like driving....

Just went out to check on the cattle and noticed one of the heifers was missing. I found her over a hill with a new little bull calf. The poor little guy was coated in ice and laying half buried in the snow. He was about an hour old. Gave him his shots, ear tag and got him up and drove him and mom back up by the house with the rest of the herd. With the wolves and coyotes around I'm out every couple hours checking for any new calves. Looks like it's going to be another long cold night below zero.

Thanks for the laugh! There actually was about 30 pages on a classic cougar forum about my old car. I sold it in about 1995 to a guy from the Carolinas and somehow it got left out in the weather in Florida and now it is a big pile. It won shows in its day. Rare car, the forum said it would have been worth a couple hundred thousand now... oh well, I should have kept it! I see if I can scrounge up a picture. Fun car, had to use my hands on the steering wheel to engage the clutch. My mechanic asked me if I wanted to fix that and I said NO.

After looking over the discussion on the coronavirus and if bad enough leading to power outages. I just realized that I have very little fuel stabilizer (Stabil). Need to store back a few more gallons of gasoline, just in case. For prepping, I keep a 20+ gallons around for the generator. The advantage of keeping it around, I also use the supply for my mowers and other power equipment so the fuel is always rotated. With the possible pandemic on it's way, I think I will add a little more to the reserve, treated with a stabilizer. (Note, I have several places around me that have Ethanol free which is the only kind I use for storage.)

I’ve recently topped off my pantry, added some more masks, bleach tablets and gloves. Nothing major as I was mostly covered allready luckily. Still feels right to go thru your supplies and look for anything low or overlooked.

I picked up bleach, hand sanitizer, Vicks, and Mucinex. Hubby added additional lighting and a couple extra motion sensor alarms around back sheds. He also added on to the woodshed. Planted extra seeds for additional crops just in case.

I picked up more EmergenC immune packets, 6 boxes of 70. it has everything you need to keep your immune system strong. I also got some flu medications for symptoms. 8 more cans of lysol and another 4pack of Clorox wipes.
I always keep emergenC on hand, and even more so during flu season. So many good vitamins/minerals and electrolytes. It's really a better alternative to gatorade for people who are sick, whether they have flu or stomach bug.

Normally for a healthy individual I don’t really believe in vitamins and supplements. Of course that is assuming the individual is eating a good diet with a variety of fruits and vegetables. When you sick though and not eating well I thing it’s a really good idea though. Give your body some extra ammo to fight back with.

I expect two to three months and it will be widespread. We mostly do retail maintenance with our business so that’s one of the worst places to be during something like this. I will act accordingly as needed but might be a good time to take 4 to six months off. Of course if you do something like that you are starting over completely without your current customers....

I am less afraid for myself as I am pretty healthy, but afraid for those at risk because they are not as healthy. Very scary stuff.

I ran by Walmart today at lunch. Got a couple big bottles (500 pills each) of Ibuprofen, also picked up some EmergenC (store brand) as well as the store brand of Zicam. Hopefully, come this time next year, these have not been opened. Already have a number of other cold and flu products, so this is just a little more backup.

I made some really good elderberry syrup...I think it should be as good as store bought stuff like EmergenC. I froze some to keep its potency. But it tastes sooo good.
