I got a text from Phideaux little bit ago. He said they are OK. Had over 5" of rain so far.

Good, was worried, knew he was getting big rain. Didn't know it was that much.

His new house is on high ground isn't it?

It has been raining for about 12 hours, but fortunately it has not frozen. Temperature is hovering around freezing, but tomorrow it is supposed to drop close to single digits. We don't plan on going anywhere. I don't mind snow, but I really don't like ice.

Yeah. NO. I don't even want to think about getting out of bed right now.
Ok. it be 28 now. Checking temps looks like between 22 and 28 tomorrow for church time, and since I didn't get long heavy skirt and cowgirl boots for Christmas, um, nope, I be staying home. Thank you, @LadyLocust ! And thanks, @Bacpacker for telling us about @phideaux

We have 28, minus the twenty part (heehee) It's actually supposed to warm up a couple degrees through the night. Hucklebunny has been sleeping in her carrier in the house, and the Lioness aka fur demon has a heat lamp near her bed in the summer kitchen.

Just overwhelmed with many things,
One being it's rained for 24 hours non stop,
On top of the tornado damage everywhere...now floods in the same areas.

Drove thru the worst area this week. It's undescribable.

Looks like an atomic bomb exploded .
Everything is flat except piles of debri.

Sad.

Another wave coming thru in a while then frigid temps later tonight and tomorrow.
12 deg tomorrow night with snow possible.

I was in the pool quite a bit lately, no bikini! T-shirt over my swimsuit. May be skating on it tomorrow! Actually it only had ice for the first time last year when we had the Tx artic hell! It won't freeze!

Had a cup of coffee a bit ago! Since we heat with wood I'll need to get up a couple times to put wood in the stove. Hubby is a sound sleeper so I just do it! He sleeps so soundly I once painted his toenails red when he was napping!!

The temp has dropped another degree. I know this is no big deal to most of you, north of our latitude. It didn't used to be to me when I lived on the east coast.

On a different and more serious note, like @phideaux was saying, Kentucky has been hit hard again with flooding, high winds, tornadoes. It is unbelievable. And other places are still being hammered on with wildfires, heavy snows, more rain and flooding. Prayers for all who may be in the areas of these terrible disasters and incoming storms.

70 on my porch... a little breezy though. The first big storm band just passed. It fell apart about 20miles before getting to me. Just a little rain, not even a bolt of lighting.

There is a huge band about a half hour out. I'll check back in about midnight...

Glad no one has gotten a new years nado! All you folks on the west bank of the Mississippi bundle up good and stay warm.

Grandson just came in from taking the dogs out for their last potty. His hair was damp from the shower he took, and even with his cap on, he told me to feel his hair. Felt like it was an icicle. I think it's now 6 out. And still windy. Dogs need to do their business fast.

They have started lifting the tornado watches around here county by county. Still raining, but I think the worst is past already

Just got home a bit ago. No mishaps just a really long drive. Stopped to have breakfast with my BIL and SIL.
Lowest temps were -14F.
Called my FIL, they are now drifted in - snow + winds in MT can be crazy. Glad we left when we did.
