Just got home a bit ago. No mishaps just a really long drive. Stopped to have breakfast with my BIL and SIL.
Lowest temps were -14F.
Called my FIL, they are now drifted in - snow + winds in MT can be crazy. Glad we left when we did.
Thanks for the update, glad all is well!!

Don't know if we'll drop another degree or two yet, but brrrrrrrrrr! Wind chill below zero!

Tornados touched down in downtown Hopkinsville , KY , late Saturday, which is 30 minutes SE of me .
Lots of damage and injuries, but no fatalities yet.

West KY has definitely become the new tornado alley.

The flooding looked extreme too! Glad ya'll are ok! It's not even spring!😟

Hoping you guys in the south are ok, it is minus 2, 28 F , the Chinook wind howled all night 30 - 50 mph, i would estimate, seems to have calmed down now, hoping it stays just under freezing to day,

We had winds up to 54 mph yesterday. Rain total was 2.18. I haven't heard of any damage other than some minor street flooding. Worst of the storms fell apart when they hit the Cumberland plates. We got lucky though, it hit 74 yesterday which was a record. Conditions were good for severe weather.

That's supposed to hit here later this afternoon and bring us up close to freezing temp. More snow on the docket.

Its been cloudy rainy and very dense fog here for the past 4 days. We've gotten an inch of rain total.
Today it hit 71 this morning and now at noon the temp is down to 60 and the wind is picking up.
We're looking at snow in the morning tomorrow and then snow/rain in the afternoon.
Temps in the mid 30's.
After that the rest of the week we'll be in the 40's daytime and 20's at night.
By next weekend we'll be in the 30's daytime, teens at night.

Its getting to be winter here now

Well it did get cold here. Got ice, no power from 3:30-4:15 and temp of 22 and windchill of 10 degrees. Went to Sunday School and came home. Still have ice on my truck. At 11:00, on way home thermometer bounced from 28-30 for the 11 miles back to house. South of Pearl and Patch so I am sure they got it worse.

Old Scandinavian saying, "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes."
I can handle the cold because I do have all the right clothes! Just don't have to use them much! I hate it for the animals when it's been in the 80's and then 15°, they don't have the right clothes!!

What kind of animals do you have that cannot survive 15ºF? Even today, at subzero temps, there are cattle, horses, goats, sheep, hogs, etc outdoors in MN...they may have loafing sheds, but the sheds are certainly not heated.

They've been in 80° weather so they don't have winter coats. They aren't "dressed" for 15°.

My wife's mare is a Floridian.
If the weather forecast is calling for sunrise temps to be in the 30's, she gets a fleece blanket put on.
For the 20's, that becomes a real blanket.

The great thing about North Florida is when it's 28 degrees at sunrise, it will be in the 50's (at least) by noon. Our sun is a wonderful thing. Except in July and August when it hits 105 in the shade for weeks on end.
