1913hrs cst. I've gotten light showers, very little wind. The big stuff is at least an hour away, still in Mississippi. Wish it'd get here and get over with...

Watched the news tonight and the weather guy showed a radar that showed the smoke plume coming off the fire. At 6:30 the fire had grown to 250 acres with zero containment. Rain should make it by 2 or 3. Hopefully it'll be heavy and last for several hours. Several homes already burnt down. Weather is similar to 2016 when the big fire started in the Smoky Mountains and ended up burning thousands of acres and 20,000+ structures. Fire started up, winds jumped up to 50+ mph and spread it rapidly. Plus no rain in good long while. Humidity levels over the weekend was in single digits.

Oh goodie! I'm currently in 2 tornado warning polygons. First time thats ever happened, one yes but not 2.

About to lose satellite internet and tv... My radio is already on...

I'll check in here when I can, got a couple phone numbers if I can't. I'll update Jim or Rick if something bad happens.

Be safe out there take shelter if needed hopefully it passes over with no damage

Bacpacker... we got fires also. A minute ago they had up a split screen on the tv. Fires on one side, tornadoes on the other!!! This is about to get biblical!

They announce 50+ new wild fires this afternoon. A couple near Cullman looked pretty large.

No more tornado polygons for me, just been dropped. Still a tornado warning just south of those two.

Winds aren't bad though, no gusts over 40mph. Lots of lighting.

Whoops, new tornado warning for me... Couldn't even finish a post!

These are little spinners, no sooner than they form, they vanish, 5 to 10 minutes...

Current Weather forecast is wind at 30+ and increasing over the next 4 hours. Rain starting about the time the winds start lessening. Rainfall totals expected to be .5 to .75" by 7 am. Rain mostly gone by 9am

I am heading for the shower and then bed. 5am will be here way to soon
Sleep well big bro!!

Not nice, hope they pass!

@Supervisor42 warning dropped. Tornado vanished...

It's been this way all evening, little spinners... with one exception, the one that passed between my house and my niece's, few miles. It stayed on the ground for 25miles but lifted when it crossed the swamp and fell apart. No damage here.

Silly dog! My big sheppard has always feared thunder. Now he's taught the pup to respond that way. During the main part of the storm the pup was by my feet whining. So I sat on the floor for a bit just to shut him up! Silly dogs.

Again, I'm in the clear... no more bad weather and fires reported out. The rain has stopped, calm outside, no wind. Still several tornadoes south of Tuskaloosa (city) and another to the NW headed toward Birmingham. So the night will be long for some folks.

(please, no one laugh at my neon bath robe, I ordered navy blue but got this)

That's wonderful! I was gonna say you were being greedy playing with 3 in one hour 😱, but I wanted to make sure you made it thru first:). Outstanding!
Did the sump pump get busy?
I thought @snappy1 might need to borrow it for a while there.
...The good news is, her plants won't need to be watered for quite a while!😀
Glad everyone is safe.😍

And with that $5, 800 plus water bill that they haven't gotten straightened out yet, that rain is a blessing.

It's supposed to get up to 69 degrees today and 41 tonight.
