They still don't know how many tornadoes formed last night in Alabama. Thankfully only 2 were long track storms. 20mins on the ground, fall apart, then reform, total more than 150miles on the ground. They were small and south of me so not a threat.
The rest were little spinners, rarely lasting longer than 10 minuets. Most never touched down, were radar reported circulations. At one point last night there were 5 of these within 50miles, all going away from me. An hour earlier there were 3 headed towards me. The tv weather radar map has "polygons" applied when the NWS issues a tornado warning. For a while last night I was in 2 of these polygons at the same time. That got my blood flowing.
Had some big rains - 1.83inches total. I lost satellite for over an hour at one point. Didn't lose power, that's a miracle.

Strong storms blew through Alabama overnight, leaving widespread damage but no reported life-threatening injuries.
The National Weather Service issued multiple tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings on Wednesday, and there were several tornado debris signatures on radar with the storms.
Damage, both from severe storms and strong non-thunderstorm winds, was reported across the state. Storm survey teams are expected to assess the damage today.
