65 this afternoon, started raining about 1pm. Poured down on my way home in three different spots, but less than 1/10 of an inch here at the house. Winds were crazy. Heard on the news Knoxville Airport where the NWS has the official weather station for Knoxville recorded an 87 mph wind gust. Not certain, but there is talk that may be an all time record.

Well we had horrible wind last night. It blew down one of the backporch posts ( porch is still up) and almost blew out the window in the bedroom we just got fixed. They didn't put it back in right. Thankfully it didn't completely fall out .
Hear chain saw going off around us, wonder how many trees fell on things. Dreading to go look at the barn hope the big door didn't get blow off or the roof
Dogs are so funny! Otto didn't want to go out and stood there barking at the porch post on the ground....something unusual freaks him out

Woke up to heavy snow. I wish it would warm up, you don't have to shovel rain. At the head the bay the snow is building up on top of the saltwater so we have a thick layer of slush.

High wind advisory through Thursday, 20% chance of rain or snow tonight increasing to 50% tomorrow morning. Good thing I don't need to go anywhere today or tomorrow, reckon I'll just hold the fort and hang out here at the ol' hacienda. I was looking at the yard last time I watered the trees, and I chose some suitable spots for the things I intend to plant this season. Gotta call those orchards today and ask whether they sell pecan & pistachio nut tree saplings... another phone call to make once I'm in the mood. 😬

It is a chilly day today, and I didn't realize that it was going to be. It is currently 34 degrees and has been in that range for most of the morning. At least we are not in the single digits. I would have put on a second pair of pants before I went out if I had realized how cold it was going to be. I was wise enough to wear boots, not shoes. I know they've had snow in the mountains this week, and that is partly why it is cool here. It's also a little breezy, and that always to make things a little cooler.

ALL you need know about ALASKA weather is:

BIG BAD WINTER is terrified of sun and is on the RUN.

Be careful what you wish for. The snow has turned to rain. It is turning the snow to ice. I won't be going anywhere for a few days. The dog asked for a set of ice skates.

We've received nearly a foot of snow since last night making the current accumulated snow depth of about 4 feet. We can barely see our picnic table. Our county has GPS in its snowplows and has a website where you can track their progress. You can see in the image below that our small rural county has 16 snowplows on the roads. The black lines are roads already plow more than 30 minutes ago. The green arrows show the direction of the snowplows within the last 30 minutes.

Our county owns a snowplow (😁)!! They tried to plow ice with it a few years back 😮!

We're on the springtime rollercoaster. Sun, snow, rain. Sun, snow, rain. With some crazy winds thrown in.
Some folks south and west of are still out of power from the ice storm last week.
Warm and sunny today, the drifts are all smushing in on themselves and the snow is so icy and heavy that I decided not to try to run the snowblower today. I'm sure my 4x4 pickup can get out if I decide to go somewhere. Supposed to snow again Friday, weatherguessers are anywhere from 2" to 10". I think they just throw darts at a chart and go with whatever the square says.

@Supervisor42 Tornado warning... on the ground 10miles nw of hamilton

headed ENE

Hackleburg up next.

Cornfirmed... on the ground
Thanks for the heads up but it is hundreds of miles away, headed away.
Don't know where @snappy1 is, but it may be close to her.
Our fun (which we will ship to you :D) isn't until tomorrow night.

I hate to say it because it might be a curse, but it looks like we might be done with Winter. Temps have been in the 40's and 50's, and next Monday it is supposed to be in the 70's. Perfectly O.K. with me. We still have a lot of gray days, but that is better than snow.

I'm SW MS. About 100 miles North of LA line. Our fun is tonight also! Thanks for checking!

My goodness!! DFW area is getting SLAMMED! 70-80mph winds and hail. Semi trucks blown off the roads. Wind damage here, we are waiting for things to calm down so hopefully we can get outside before it gets dark to check things out!! Our power is on!
Thank you for the fast shipping!
I am guilty of watching the weather.
Watched the clouds moving fast to the northwest.
They never do that!
Also watched my barometer go from 1000 to 990 in 4 hours!
That is a LOT!
We are supposed to dance with it between 2-4am.
If it is 'worthy', I will post tomorrow.
